This thing is awful. I can only plug in two pronged plugs instead of three prong ones. Even though there is a hole for the third one...
What's great about it: You can still plug in two prong stuff.
What's not so great: it arcs and you can barely plug things in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor warranty support

My Dynex product failed to protect my computer and the company is not promptly honoring the protected equipment warranty. They are referring me to another company that manufactured the product and this other company's claim department does not return calls!
What's great about it: It has outlets
What's not so great: Poor warranty support.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for dorms and bedrooms

I bought this product for my dorm room and so far so good. I'm currently using it to power an alarm clock, a small televison, a VCR/DVD combo, a Nintendo Wii, and a phone charger. The outlets aren't spaced for multiple transformers, meaning you'll likely be restricted to one, however, for most this won't be an issue. All in all, you really can't go wrong with this device. It's cheap, has all the features you'd expect from this type of device (power and surge protection LEDs and an on/off switch), has space for 6 devices, and gives you piece of mind against the woes of your local power grid. Highly recommended!
What's great about it: Inexpensive and offers great surge protection for up to six devices
What's not so great: Outlets are not spaced for transformers (aka power bricks).
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you looking for cheap surge protector here it is, and it does just what you payed for, which is mostly more outlets with some protection. That's why I bought it, however I also have a heavy duty multi protection battery powered surge as well, and if your protecting your costly equipment (TV, DVD, Blue Ray, Game System, Computer, and Computer again) then you'll want to spend the money to get a really good protector, it will pay itself back in energy bill savings. This is fine for extra outlets only in my opinion.
What's great about it: It's cheap!
What's not so great: The expensive battery powered surge protectors are the way to go
I would recommend this to a friend!

I can't tell if the "Protected" light is actually lit, or if it's just glowing a tiny bit because it's right next to the amber "Grounded" light that is brightly lit.
Dynex & other owners: Can you confirm if this is how it's supposed to look when it's "Protected"? Is the "Protected" light just naturally dimmer, or should it be just as bright as the "Grounded" light? I want to make sure it's functioning... I have plenty of power strips in my home, but I bought this one specifically to protect my brand new computer from a power surge, so that's the most important feature to me. I'll include a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. (The green light is actually glowing even fainter than this in life, it appears brighter in the picture.)
What's great about it: Clean black, looks great!
What's not so great: Can't really tell if it's "Protected" or not... I can see a very faint glow...
I would recommend this to a friend!

The surge protector i purchased is heavy duty and well worth the money it was less then other stores with the best quality
What's great about it: heavy duty long lasting and a good price
What's not so great: nothing

I bought a power strip so that I could plug my electronics into it. Low and behold, I can't actually plug anything in to it! Absolutely stunned that they would sell a product that doesn't support 3 pronged power cords when it clearly has spaces for three. I don't even live near a best buy so I'll have to wait to return it, but believe me I will. It's completely useless, can't believe all the good reviews it's gotten.
What's great about it: It's cheap
What's not so great: It doesn't do what it's meant to do
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
