There should be a law that if you intend to relaunch a franchise less than five years after the last attempt, every negative must be destroyed if it winds up being worse. From start to finish, this was a total mess of a film that seemed more interested in finding room for not-so-subtle cameos and wink-nudge-grins than telling a complete story. Knocking out the whole origin chapter during the opening credits may have freed up the rest of the picture to explore new territory, but it also killed the basis of the cast's relationships and removed any reason for the audience to care about them. Ed Norton and Liv Tyler turn in genuinely rotten performances, with a black hole of chemistry as an on-screen duo, that are neither true to the original characters nor interesting in the slightest. Bruce never came off as remotely intelligent, let alone the super genius he'd have to be to come up with the formula that turned him into the Hulk. He actually spends more time running from grossly generic government operatives than using his brain, which kills the intriguing contrast between he and the Hulk that's supposed to fuel the story. They're both mindlessly running, just in opposite directions. Corny dialog, predictable twists and turns, weak CG, flat characterization and sleepwalking actors. This blew up in Marvel's face.

The main reason I bought this disk is 4K video and the DTS-X audio; I own the blu-ray already. I’m glad I did better video and audio. The cgi effects are much better defined colors are impressive and the immersive audio takes it up a notch or two. The movie itself I always liked the cast has chemistry together. If you’re a fan it’s a must have.

A solid popcorn flick and comic book adaptation

The Incredible Hulk is a sort of winning combination of the more serious, story-driven comic book film that has become the trend lately (with excellent results) and the sort of care-free action/sci-fi style that used to be found in comic book films. The result is a fun but simple film that manages to avoid being entirely disposable entertainment.
At the center of it all is Edward Norton as scientist Bruce Banner, who after an incident caused him to turn into a giant green monster whenever he gets angry went to hide oout in Brazil, where he went to work in a bottling plant. It's not a glamorous life, but it keeps him hidden and safe until an accident involving a drop of his blood leads his nemesis, General Ross, to find his location.
Ross hires special ops expert Emil Blonsky to lead the team that will capture Banner, but of course Banner manages to Hulk his way out of it. Uncovered, Banner makes his way back to the U.S., once again hoping to find a cure for himself.
Ang Lee made a film version of the Hulk in 2003, and it was widely pandered by both audiences and critics. I personally liked the film a lot, even though it had nothing to do with the comics. To me it felt like an early sign of the character-driven style that comic-book-adapted films have now become. I was pleased to see that this is not a remake of the first film, but rather a sort of unofficial sequel. Nothing about the first film is really mentioned here, but the first film DID end with Banner hiding out in the jungle in South America, so this can easily be seen as a follow-up to that. No one really needs to see the origin story again; by now, we all get the gist of it.
This is worth seeing. It's fun and well-acted. I especially liked seeing Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky and William Hurt as General Ross. They are both perfectly cast. Also, the final battel between the Hulk and the Abomination (who is a visual treat) was one of the best action scenes of the summer. Give this movie a shot if you like the genre. It's good fun.
What's great about it: A fun action film with solid acting, generally good casting, and great effects
What's not so great: Liv Tyler's character, Betty Ross, is pretty much useless in this film

As part of the MCU, it is widely considered one of the weakest of the MCU. However, it is a very good movie with decent acting but the way the story plays out is a bit disjointed. All being said it is still a part of the MCU series of films and as such, a must own for fans. Also, even as much as people trash it, it is still a film I have and still will watch many times just like EVERY ONE of the MCU film catalog.

First off, I must admit that this second installment is several times better than the original motion picture release. Even still, I found it dissappointing as a Hulk fan.
Anyone who has ever watched the original Stan Lee animated cartoon of the Hulk knows that the Hulk was extremely expressive, and talked NONSTOP trash. Not sure how or when he suddenly became a mute, but I do not appreciate what has become more of a King Kong and/or Beauty and the Beast type of character. He literally said 6 words the entire movie and never more than 3 at a time.
Perhaps the biggest stab in the backs of the fans is that his monster enemy in the film (Abomination) can express himself and talks all movie long (almost as much as an original fan would expect the Hulk to). Meanwhile, the Hulk just sits there with no verbal retaliation as if a confused, mentally impaired dog. The Hulk should at least be at equal par with Abomination -having had longer experience going through these transformations and all. Somehow the new beast comes out of nowhere and instantly is more controlled and comfortable being a super being.
Now that I'm done venting about that, the movie itself is indeed worth seeing. As a stand alone movie it will entertain you, keep your attention, and dazzle you with animated cinematography and special effects. The plot itself is lacking but it's hard to explain without given too much away. Suffice to say that the plot fell apart at points, left holes, and found a way to make a story which everyone walks in knowing and accepting is an unrealistic concept, somehow feel even less realistic.
Conclusion:
Non Hulk fans can sit through it without wanting 2 hours of their life back.
Hulk fans will enjoy it but end feeling empty.
What's great about it: Graphics, Special Effects, Audio and Animation of Hulk
What's not so great: Story and the Abandonment of Hulk's Original Personality

The Incredible Hulk isn't quite the gem you would hope for in a Marvel film. The story itself is fine, not mind-blowing, not terrible, just fine. But the actors and the performances bring this film down. They're so little charisma or effort being put forth to their characters to push this film to be better than sub-par.
That being said the Steelbook release of the film is excellent and very good quality. Would recommend for a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If for nothing else but collecting purposes.
