Great picture, sleek design, and easy set up. I compared the picture to that of cheaper brands and the Samsung is better. If you're going to get this size TV I recommend going for the Samsung. 60hz so fars seems plenty for movies and sports without any picture problems (and I've already watched quite a bit). Also has plenty of inputs when all the cheaper brands did not.
What's great about it: Great picture. Higher price for Samsung worth it. Sleek design.
What's not so great: Sound is not great, but there aren't many flat panels out there with good sound.

I have had this Samsung for about a year now and it has been great. I paid 1600 for it so I think the sale price on it is awesome! People should be jumping on that. Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 games look great and I have Dish Network HD and that looks good as well. Standard def is acceptible too. I would def reccomend this tv. It has a HDMI and composite input on the side for easy access too :)
What's great about it: Great price, and easy to hook up

This was our first flatsreen TV purchase. At the store, I didn't think it would look as good as it does. We got it home, set it up, and we were excited. When we turned it on, the picture was blurry. At first I didn't know what it was, but then I came to realize that it was the Coax cable. The TV speaker is not something I like. It is not terrible, but its just like your everyday integrated TV speaker. So, the next day after church, we went to best buy. We bought a Monster Coax cable, HDMI Cable, Optical Cable, and a Sony Home Theatre System. We came home, and set up everything. We turned on the TV and the picture was great. The only thing it is missing is the Tru Motion Refresh Rate. This TV, however, has a really good picture and does not give a strongly noticeable blur with moving objects. Later on, I set the AV Modes. Those do make a difference. I especially enjoy game mode. We later bought a Wii, and it looks great, along with other game systems I have.
What's great about it: Picture, AV Modes, Optical Out

I purchased this tv for my master bedroom after returning the Insignina 42" 120hz under Best Buy's 30 day return policy and I'm so glad I did. Although the Insigna was good, it wasn't as good as my 52" Samsung LCD 650 in my living room that i purchased a year ago. The color's do not need any calibration out of the box and it appears very true to life, perfect brightness in bright light or dark, great dark scene contrast, and good speakers if you don't plan to use external surround sound. There is NO glare issue with this set and the view angle is virtually unliminted. I know that everyone is marketing the 120 hz refresh rate, and although it makes sense on paper, i'm not sure how necessary it is. I have been watching alot of football and hockey this past year on my 60 hz samsung and i don't recall every losing a puck or having a football 'skipping' across the screen. I am totally satisfied with both of my Samsung 60 hz sets and a year from now 120 hz will probably be the new standard, but i don't see the necessity to pay extra for it now. Once you own a Samsung.. i think everything else will fall just short of meeting your expectations. Highly recommended!!
What's great about it: Out of the box Picture - not color adjustment needed

Ordered on-line because of sale price Friday night, picked up in store Saturday morning. Easy initial setup although I made picture and sound adjustments to my preference. Digital picture is good but I then got a High-Def box from my cable company and the High-Def picture is great. Sound is average, OK for regular TV programs, but I will eventually hook up an external sound system for movies and music. Overall, a good buy for a little over $700.
What's great about it: good value for price I paid
What's not so great: no S-video input, average picture without Hi-def

TV overall is great. However the remote has poor response. if it's not pointed the right direction the TV doesn't respond to it... sore on the arm after channel surfing but the quick fix was the universal remote that came with the HD box through our cable company. The menu is somewhat confusing at first, but good once you get the hang of it. Overall very pleased with the picture and features.
What's great about it: Easy to set up, Fair price
What's not so great: Remote control doesn't work very well. You need to point it up & out to turn the channels/volume or it won't respond

This is the best buy for your money, it leave's you enough to buy that Blu ray to complete the Video experience if ya feels me? Picture is great and bright, plus with 3 default picture modes, its great for gaming in dynamic, watching tv in normal, or for movies...in movie mode. Football even looks great in HD. I have this hooked up to my Xbox 360 Elite via HDMI and digital optical to my 5.1 surround, best gaming experience or great for movie lovers if your into that Netflix. Get this TV, its great. Remote is definitely not the best, it has to be pointed right at the sensor in the bottom corner, but if you get a Samsung Blu ray player, you can sync them together which I thought was cool and simple, or if you have the comcast remote, that's the best. Hope this was helpful if you your interested in the TV. Plus the 40incher is a perfect size.
What's great about it: Great Price, Great Picture
What's not so great: Not 120Hz, dust collector on gloss

This is my third Samsung TV. I have a large DLP in my basement, and this one is replacing a 8 year old glass CRT SD TV. I've always been a fan of Samsung's quality versus price in its mid-ranged TV's. This TV is no exception. The picture is great, even sports look great despite its 60Hz refresh rate. Pixelation in fast motion is only occasionally noticeable, but never bothersome.
The viewing angle was important to me. This is the only TV on the TV wall that I could still really see from a full 178 degrees. It is still just as bright from an extreme angle as it is looking straight on.
I have an upscaling DVD player and TiVo HD hooked up to this. I still have another HDMI port to add a game system. There are plenty of ports. I do wish there was a USB port for firmware upgrades or showing pictures. But, my TiVo shows pictures, so that's not a big bother.
The sound is just ok. You will definitely need to play with the settings to get the sound just right. None of the built in defaults are quite right for me. The advertised volume leveling doesn't really seem to do much.
All in all, I am very impressed with this TV. The quality versus price is really unbeatable. Go cheaper than this, and you'll notice a drop in quality.
What's great about it: Picture, price, ports
What's not so great: Sound is just ok, no USB port
