Got this when moving. Had my TVs shipped and was left with net and cable access but no way to watch. Got this hoping for just a few channels, but got more channels than hoped; works and looks great! Remote included and overall quality were excellent!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Installed as per directions. Nothing worked. Visisted web site. Said I had to install updates and drivers for windows 7. Still did not work, later found that it is not compatable with a 64 bit system and windows 7. Cool concept, price would be ok, if it worked.
What's great about it: if it works on your system
What's not so great: not compatalbe with windows 7, 64 bit system
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After years of using ATI All-In-Wonder video cards and software, and after building a new computer, ( I7 965 Quad core, 3gb RAM, dual raid 10,000 rpm drives, etc, etc,) .. I thought I would have to spend a fortune to get the perfect video/TV capture card,...... NOT!...... I read some of the bad reviews on this and was a little weary of purchasing,... how could something so small and inexpensive do what " I " wanted it to do? ... but since BestBuy has a great return policy, I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try,.... It took about 15 minutes to set up, and it works GREAT!!! I've tried everything I can think of to make it crash/ lock-up,... and it works perfect.
My suggestion to those leaving bad reviews,.... BUY YOURSELF A BETTER COMPUTER ! ! !

What's not so great: Reading the bad reviews about it
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worth every penny

* Setup is as easy as plugging the stick into a USB port, cancelling the Windows "New Hardware Found" wizard, running the "Install Drivers" app from the included CD, and running the WinTV setup. WinTV will scan your available cable stations, HDTV, and analog TV stations.
* Connection input options include composite video (RCA jack), L and R audio RCA jacks, a standard "F" connector, and an S-video jack.
* The included antenna picked up all HDTV stations in my area.
* The software will also scan analog TV stations, if any are still broadcasting.
* Default video is in the form of .ts files, which my copy of Nero encoded with easily. I have yet to see any dropped frames.
* USB powers the device, so there's no additional power needed.
I couldn't be happier with this device. Not only can I copy old tapes to video for DVD burns, but I can also watch HDTV on my laptop in airports.
What's great about it: Easy setup, good interface, flawless operation

Thinking about getting rid of Cable so I was looking at a capture device for live TV or TiVo. TiVo requires you to rent a card from Time Warner, but the whole point is to stop paying Time Warner money. The Windows Media Center interface is very user friendly when you looking up channels and trying to record. The remote works great when you are playing back your recordings, you can FFWD, Pause, etc with ease. The capture quality is OK. Sometimes the skin tones look funny, too pink or too green or something. And unlike my DVR, you cannot record 2 things at once, or record one thing and watch another. You have to commit to one show at a time. But watching HD TV shows on your computer or laptop is pretty cool. The device does get super hot so be careful of that. The included software is kind of generic, so use Media Center.

What's not so great: Antenna is pretty weak. Can only record and watch one thing at a time, unlike a typical DVR.

Replaced my HP Media Center computer with an All In One and needed TV access. My computer is in my den and I use it as a DVR so I purchased this to view TV. Easy to setup, simple operation. good remote and small foot print. Software works great but unlike Windows Media Center it does not have built in TV Guide interaction, so you have to enter a channel and start /stop record times, which does work it just requires more steps. Software does include a online TV Guide which is accurate but does not interact. Overall excellent product.
