We had to return the item because we determined later that it would have to be glued down to dish using included stick tape that would leave a residue if base was removed and would require additional cleaning of car dash
What's great about it: Price
What's not so great: Base uses sticky tape that would leave residue on dash
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the best holder I have ever owned. It works in cold or warm weather. I was having trouble with my windshield mounted holder in cold weather. This was is awesome. It stays right there on the dashboard. Regardless of the type of dashboard as I rent a different car almost every week.
What's great about it: Everything.
What's not so great: Nothing that I know of.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was tired of the Garmin falling into my lap from the front window when I was told there was this alternative. It works very well, mounts the Garmin lower than the window allows, and does not move whole driving! It fits well in my Wife's '09 Sebring but would not have a good place to work in my '95 T-Bird. The difference is not the device but the design of the dash board. If you have a long, relatively flat dash this product will serve you well!

What's not so great: Might be hard to use on many dashes due to design styles.

i do not think i would buy this again, it does stay in place on the dash but it doesnt sit flat so when driving the gps bounces up and down. i have tried to reshape the pad with no luck
