No offense but Ghostbusters, Oceans 8, and Star wars 7, 8 has been awful now because no good actors/actress in Hollywood anymore. Gotta go with the classics to keep sane.

I heard this wasn’t a great 4K transfer for this film that had heavy use of DNR. However, I was willing to take the plunge for the $7.99 Black Friday sale being Terminator 2 is such a great film. I have to say, the DNR use doesn’t bother me much. I’m happy with my decision to pick it up in 4K at the $7.99 price point. However, if you do not like the use of heavy DNR and like the grainy look on old films, you may not want to take the plunge on this 4K at the normal price point. I can’t speak for the audio because I only have a 2.1 set up (soundbar and a subwoofer). All that being said, the movie in itself is an excellent film.

Excellent movie! This review will be more about the quality of the movie than the content. This BD comes with a Digital HD copy through VUDU or Fandango. I set it up with Vudu because it’s easier for me. As for the disc itself, it came exactly as described and shrink wrapped so I knew it was new. I thoroughly inspected the print on the front and back covers. Everything was pristine. I had ordered this same movie from a different source and you could immediately tell by the back cover that someone printed it from their computer and then the disc looked copied. Not in this case. This is definitely a legitimate, remastered BD. The picture and sound quality are excellent. This disc comes with both the Unrated Special Edition and the theatrical version. I prefer the theatrical version but the extended version is just as good in quality...just has some sequences that don’t fit in my head. This movie was state of the art in 1991 and being remastered on Blu-Ray is even better. A must have for any Terminator fan, or even just action fans.

FYI, they sell Terminator movies in sets (Anthology or Quadrilogy). Don’t buy those!!! The quality is terrible. I bought both and immediately returned them after trying each disc. The discs worked but the sound and picture quality was terrible. I bought it like that because the price was awesome for 4 movies (Genisys) wasn’t included. Buy them individually. The quality is so much better. You won’t regret it and the prices individually are still very reasonable for BD.

There are mixed reviews on this 4K remaster all over the internet. The reason is that they used a lot of digital smoothing and it effects the faces of the actors in the movie from time to time.
The effect that it has in the rest of the movie including the crisp clean backgrounds, special effects, gunfire and explosions makes it all worth it for me. My wife had never seen the movie and when the credits rolled and showed the copyright 1991 she looked at me and said. “I can’t believe that movie is 28 years old”. That’s the best way I can put it. There are plenty of old rerealeses that show their age but this movie looks modern and beautiful.

Great movie, okay picture quality

T2 is a classic movie so the movie is good, which reflects on my 4 star rating.

The picture quality is much better than the DVD version I upgrade from, but as a stand alone 4K release, the picture quality is below my expectations. They used too much Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) to remove film grain, but the DNR also removed a lot of the picture detail.

Good for the $7.50 I spent on it, but I wouldn't have paid full price for this release.
