Great value

I purchased this set because my 8 year old Altec Lansing pair was going out. I wanted to make sure the next set would last as long and I wanted better sound. I listen to hip-hop, I like bass buy not when it drowns out the lyrics. Sometimes, mainly for movies, I have to adjust the bass to very low to understand the speaking. I like how far I can spread out the speakers for better surround sound but at the same time, I have to reach or get up to change the volume. The bass sounds great turned up loud with the thumping bass though. I had a hard time deciding between these and the midrange model for $250 from Bose. I think those sounded better but they had no bass control. They also didn't have a sub, saving a lot of space. After comparing I decided to go with the one $120 less and I have just used the PC settings to change the volume. I'm happy with my purchase.

Some of the best computer speakers you can buy

After going through multiple speaker sets, I bit the bullet and spent the $180 (at the time ~9 years ago) and I was amazed by the heart thumping bass and the clear mid and high ranges this set could produce. Haven't heard a competing brand ever come close, unless you take into account the time I setup a full top of the line JBL towers/center/sub/rears floor standing stereo system as my computer speakers... oh how I miss that setup... But I digress.

These speakers are great. I only ran into an issue a year ago when the sub decided to stop working, mind you this was after eight years or so, with multiple moves cross country. Even with the $150 price tag I didn't think twice when I picked up a second set! Now only if they still made the 5.1 Klipsch for computers...

Best Speakers On The market!

I have Klipsch Home Theater speakers and these Computer Speakers are every bit as good sounding. Of course they are only going to sound as good as the source supplying them, so If you have a cheap sound card and a low quality MP3, don't expect the speakers to perform miracles!

My ONLY real complaint with these speakers, is that there is very little volume control between "Can't Hear It!" & "Wake The Neighbors!". They get VERY loud even on the lower volume settings.. That's easily fixable by using your computer's volume in conjunction.

Overall, the BEST computer speakers on the market!

Sweet set of speakers

Good power, can handle the low end beautifully

I tried all of the display speaker models, and this was the high-end in terms of cost but it just wasn't close in terms of quality. And frankly, for the quality, the cost for these is pretty reasonable (they had these next to some Bose speakers for WAY more money, but they lacked the power and low-end bass quality). These are so strong the subwoofer blows out an angry column of air with each bass beat, enough to blow mail across the kitchen table from the computer deck. To really test a speaker, play Yello's "Oh Yeah" from the 80s; these speakers pwn.
