So to start off I've been researching these particular speakers for some time. After watching YouTube videos, reading review articles, and so on I finally decided that I wanted to pull the trigger. Upon taking this set out from the box I noticed the amazing packing job. Everything was safe and secure and the box could take a brutal beating and these the components would still be in perfect shape; a great sign of attention from start to finish. The next thing I noticed was the metal stands the satellites sit on. I'm a huge Apple fan and love the integration of metal into electronics. So to see metal stands instead of some cheap plastic gave this set a huge bonus. The next thing I noticed was the construction and feel of all the components as a whole. Nothing felt cheap like it was going to fall apart over time or through several moves. Of course like many articles the sheer size of the subwoofer gives great confidence this thing will produce the tones an audiophile will appreciate. So setting these up I decided to put the set through the paces of several genres of music I enjoy. First up was my go to which is Metal, the kick and bass guitar sounded great from the sub and lower midrange. Guitars were hot with extreme bite but maintained warmth and sustain, and the vocals and cymbal crashes rang through beautifully. Everything fell into place nicely and really shocked me. I've been a bass guitarist for coming up on 10 years playing Metal and this set sounded on par with some lower end studio monitors (which is impressive). Next I played some Rap and various electronic music. Again the bass was full and warm with just enough punch. The satellites delivered as expected and brought amazing joy to my ears. For the price these are a must if you're looking for a 2.1 sound set up. I'm extremely satisfied and will be buying more from Klipsch for sure. If you're on the fence about this set versus a lot of others I would highly suggest you choose these and you will be happy for a very long time. Like the title says 350 5 star reviews aren't wrong and I'm happy to add another.
What's great about it: Build quality, sound quality, and price.
What's not so great: I can't crank it at my apartment
I would recommend this to a friend!

I seem to be using this system a little differently than most.
I made a deal with my wife: I would move the stereo to the basement, creating a lot more space in the living room -if- we got a HIGH QUALITY 2.1 system to replace it. I have a lot of cd's and concert dvd's and still wanted them to sound great.
Quality sound reproduction was the main goal, price being second.
A dvd/vhs player is hooked to the tv audio in. A 6 foot RCA jack to 1/8 inch (male) Y adapter runs from the tv's audio out, to the speaker system. I turned off the tv's built in speakers, so all sound comes from the Klipsch speakers. I leave the speaker volume at maximum and control the volume from all sources with the tv/cable remote. For cleaner music sound, plug a mobile player into the Klipsch's other input.
I bypassed the power switch issue by powering the speakers from my Comcast box's switched AC plug. (Set that up in the cable box menu.) One remote controls everything!
What's great about it: Sound quality, size, price.
What's not so great: No power switch, but I worked around it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've owned two sets of these for the better part of three years and they're AMAZING.
I've never had a problem with either set, and the bass still blows me away sometimes. I have one set in my bedroom, used for Netflix and movies, and they're by far the best 2.1 system i've heard. Forget about Bose, these things blow them away.
The ONLY small thing I would change is putting a power switch on the left/right speaker, instead of on the subwoofer.
What's great about it: Everything literally, amazing bass, good highs, good mids, good price
What's not so great: Nothing. Notta. Zilch

I have owned these speakers for only a month and they sound great! Very impressed with the sound quality. A bit boomy at first, but I just turned the subwoofer volume down to my liking.
They have very good timbre (accurate tonal quality) for the price. They are $100 less than the Bose 2.1 system and IMHO they sound better too.
They sound the best with both volume controls on the right satellite speaker set to just below the suggested level indicator on the subwoofer volume control. Then I control the volume with the computer system volume controls (I have a remote volume control and mute button on my keyboard) Leaving the volume controls alone on the speakers should increase the life of the controls and avoid having some of the problems others are having with them.
I noticed no power on/off control on these so I assumed they included an automatic standby like most home theater subwoofers. Very cool, right?
Well, only if that was the case, but it is not. It appears Klipsch reduced their mfg. costs by eliminating the power switch and the external replaceable fuse so the system is now continuously on when plugged in with the green LED on the right satellite speaker illuminated. I decided to see just how much power is being consumed when these are plugged in so I hooked up to my watt meter and verified that the system does not shut down (monitored for 10 minutes) into low power standby as Derek Schultz of their tech product support team had told me "less than 1 Watt",(http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/134547/1363910.aspx) rather the system continuously consumes approx. 30 watts! At 8 cents per kW/h this $1.75 per month wasted electricity.
With all the "Green" hype lately this is very disappointing!
If you use a power strip to shut these down, not a problem.
Meanwhile I'll keep enjoying their great sound!
What's great about it: Sound more expensive than they are!
What's not so great: No automatic low power standby or on/off switching
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you want to pay for a name, go with Bose or Logitech. If you want to pay for sound quality, go with Klipsch, isn't this the whole reason your buying speakers? Sound quality? Anyways, I'll sum it up for ya.
Unboxing - Set up was sooo easy! 4 items came in the box, 1 sub woofer with power cable attached, 2 speakers with wires attached, and a little bag of rubber circles to put on the bottom of the speakers. Direction's aren't needed whatsoever but they even put in an instruction manual, aw how nice. :)
Features - The features are pretty standard, Subwoofer level and Main Volume knobs. That's it. It would have been nice if you had a treble adjuster too, but it's really not needed with these speakers they are very clear and bright. I'm pretty sure there's not even an on/off button, which is odd, but again, just turn them down to minimum and you'll be fine. One thing that is very nice is since the volume and bass knobs are on one of the speakers I was worried about it being forced to either the left or the right side, but these did not have that issue due to the fact that you plugged the speakers in depending on what side you wanted them! So them being reversible is great! Also the speaker covers do come off, but I'm not sure why you'd take them off because I think they are very classy looking.
Sound - Ok I listen to Rock/Nu Metal/Thrash Metal you know, heavy stuff with lot's of double bass. So the first thing I did after hooking these bad boys up is turn on Down With The Sickness by Disturbed. First of all let me just say the bass was at 35% and the volume was at about 25%, and when this song came on all I could say was wow! I got blasted with sound, in a good way! The bass pedal was was thumping to where I could feel it in my chest, and the speakers blasted with incredible accuracy! Sound is very good on these bad boys! I swear it could compete with my surround sound!
Overall - This is a great set up, and like I said many times it looks and sounds phenomenal! I have a feeling that these are very durable, everything feels solid as a rock, but like everything only time will tell. I'd say that if you have the money to afford these and you like your music/movies/video games to sound good, this is where your money belongs! There may be something better next year, there may be something worse, you never know, but I do know that if these broke on me after my return policy, I'd buy them again in a heartbeat!
What's great about it: Sound, Looks, Best Speakers for $150 for computer
What's not so great: Slightly big, no on/off switch

I'm using these to replace my aging Altec Lansing speakers that are 12 years old. I wanted something to be at least the same or even better than what I already own. These do the job! Thundering clean bass and super highs. Klipsch has been around for a very long time and considered one of the the high-end speakers systems during my day. I could never afford their speakers when I was younger, but now, after nearly 40 years I finally get to own a set. Don't wait like I did, if you can afford them now, then buy them now, you won't be disappointed.
What's great about it: Super Bass and Sound
What's not so great: No On/Off Switch

Have one of these systems from 6 years ago and it still sounds great so thought I would buy another, what a letdown!
EVERYTHING is cheaper. The orig subwoofer weighed about 15-lbs, the new one weighs about 9. The cabinet is exactly the same dimensions, but the power transformer is now totally wimpy.
The old subwoofer had an on/off switch, the new one doesnt, even the AC cord is about 2-ft shorter.
All in all, the new one doesnt have the richness in sound my original 6 year old system has.
I still sounds pretty good, but what a letdown.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
