I bought the Collectors Edition right on opening day. While last night was the first time playing it, I got sucked into 5 hrs of game time. I played from 7 to 12AM, and I have to get up for work at 5:30. This game made me lose all track of all time. I have been waiting for a fantasy RPG that fully sucks me in, and this does it. Story telling great, character development great. Game play is good, controls take some getting used to and the graphics could use alittle more polish (it is no oblivion). But in the end this game seems to be getting into my top 5 best games of all time (so far). If you want a game that gets you involved (really involved) this is the one. THIS GAME MAKES YOU WANT TO KNOW WHATS NEXT!!! Anyone that loves RPGs and got bored of WOW, Oblivion, or any other. It is a MUST try!!!!
What's great about it: Amazing story line that sucks you in, fun and solid game play.
What's not so great: Graphics not the best, but good

This game is much like Oblivion but better in my opinion. It will keep you busy for hours completing quests with each character. You can use dwarf, elf and many other races on this game. The gameplay as far as magic, weapons and armor are superb and it appears to have a strong storyline. The problem i had with this game is the graphics. I guess the game has so much content packed on one disc they had to cut the graphics a bit to fit it all on one disc. If you like oblivion style games this game may be for you if you can look past the horrible graphics.

I have played this game for 20 hours and so far i am completely entranced in it. The story is awesome. So far most of these reviewers either have not played it for long enough or havnt played it at all. Mine IS a PS3 version but its still a non pc game. The graphics are not as bad as every1 is complaining about. I like it more than oblivion so far though it does hae many similiarities with oblivion, mass effect and kotor. Its not linear so you can choose where you go once you get out of your origin story and the begining part. I have only seen 1 origin story but so far this game will deserve another playthrough. If you like other bioware games you WILL like this game. This is the best rpg I have played in recent memory. It is worth the 60$.
What's great about it: story gameplay length
What's not so great: not enough placeholders for spells

When I went to buy this game, I had my doubts. I really like Bioware's products, but I was leary of a new engine (Eclipse). Fortuanatly, my fears were for nothing. I am about 7-8 hours into the main plot and so far, it has been great. There are many different storyline paths you can take at character creation, so far, throughout the story that affects the storyline and your circumstances. This really plays to BioWare's strength of immersive plots. Major props for this. Character development is pretty good. I probably hold MassEffect and Oblivion in higher regard, but this game is really close to those imho. The only real downside is the graphics and animation could be better. They aren't bad, just not as polished as some of the other games out these days. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys single player RPGs.
What's great about it: Great story, really pulls you in. Multiple decision paths meaning re-playablity
What's not so great: Graphics could be better. Animation for lifeforms seems awkward at times

After a little over 26 hours of playing Dragon Age, I finally concluded the game. Few things I can say is that the game is pretty good, the story is interesting (though it reminds me of Lord of the Rings in some ways), and the length of the game is pretty long depending if you do a lot of stuff outside the main story. The graphics look a little washed, though not bad, just not jaw dropping for a next gen game. The biggest problem I had with the game was the combat, I found my character just standing around and not attacking, and when I locked on to another enemy my character would run from the fight, which after a while became very annoying. The loading times in the game can be long, but I didn't mind regardless. Overall, a good solid game that delivers entertainment.
What's great about it: Great Story, In Depth Gameplay, Length, Good/Bad Decisions
What's not so great: Long Loading Times, Bugs, Combat

I was hoping that BioWare would mimic the great storytelling act they had done with Mass Effect and they surely did not disappoint. The graphics in this game is very average. It's probably one of the few games that would actually look pleasant on a Nintendo Wii with it's primitive graphics processor. Overall, if you're into managing your inventories and battle tactics of people in your party, you'll love Dragon Age. It's not exactly like Oblivion because the battle aspect of it all is quite frustrating at times. You really have to stare hard to see which enemy your selected character is attacking. Nobody is screaming for help if they need health or mana. You kind of have to scroll through your characters quickly during battle to make sure they're all in great shape and not dying. In these cases, sometimes a turn based fighting scheme would make this game better (like a Japanese RPG or JRPG). But aside from that, the decisions you make do truly affect the story down the road. It's not like Mass Effect or Fable 2 where your character can be labelled as a bad person or good person. There have been some choices where I just felt like being the bad guy and made horrible/immoral decisions and they DO make a difference as the story goes along. Overall, it's a great RPG to play while I await the highly anticipated Mass Effect 2.
What's great about it: Storyline is very in-depth. Lot of thought put into the storyline
What's not so great: Graphics. Battle sequences are horrible. JRPG turn base battle would have been better

i played oblivion and it was fun at first but it was to realistic where you can level up by doing almost anything and that was annoying and not need. this game you level up the typical way strength, dexterity so on but then there new skills to know and having your own group of allies with you where ever you go is really fun to
What's great about it: never boring, simple yet complicated just so much fun wish i did'nt have to sleep
What's not so great: nothing really just gonna take a long time to beat
