I have the new Verizon HTC 8x Windows phone.....looking for a headset to use with this and wanted to know if the Bose MIE2i is compatible and if the controls on the headset will function properly....
Thanks for your question. The MIE2i headphones are designed specifically for use with certain Apple products (such as the iPhone). A better option for you would be the MIE2 headphones. They do not have volume controls, though do include a microphone with an answer/end button and are compatible with a much larger variety of mobile devices, such as your HTC phone.
We do not publish these types of specifications for our headphones since we feel they are not an accurate representation of the overall sound quality of a product. We always recommend listening to them yourself to decide if they are the right choice for you. Thanks!
To affirm the response from Best Buy, the MIE2i headphones are intended strictly for use with Apple products such as the iPhone. For other phones, such as your Droid, the MIE2 headphones would be the better choice of product.
Good question! The Bose® AE2i mobile headset’s volume up and down buttons will not work with other non-Apple products. The answer/end function may or may not operate properly, as this function varies from model to model. The Bose® AE2i mobile headset is only designed for use with select Apple products.
The MIE2i's are designed for compatibility with certain Apple products such as iPhone and iPad, though they will certainly work with other devices. They include a microphone with an answer/end button and volume controls. Audio playback and microphone use would be supported, though the volume controls will not operate non-Apple devices. Thanks!
Your TV remote will only control the volume through your connected headset if the TV has a variable output. This would be a setting that can be adjusted in the menu for your Sony TV.
