I'd put the photo quality around a 6. It leans a little dark. Good enough for candid shots, but anything prosumer or professional, I'd recommend a print shop or a photo-specific printer.

A:

No, the printer does not have faxing capabilities. I found that using an online faxing account worked better then traditional faxing because I can store all my faxes online whether they're incoming or outgoing.

Yes. There is a USB printer jack on the back near the power cord. I use wi-fi but usb should work also. You will need to purchase your own usb printer cord.

Scanning to iPad?

Q:

Can the printer scan photos and send them to an iPad? PC died and want to go with just an iPad and this printer, would be nice to be able to add old photos to Apple's iCloud using this printer/iPad.

you can scan photos as you would just scanning a piece of paper.

I use my IPad/apple.

To scan - there is an arrow to the right of the little screen that has some basic icons on it. Push it and it will talk you though the scanning process.

I can scan and send directly to e-mail.

Yes. You can scan directly to devices on your wireless network. For an ipad, you have to install the software for it (i forget the name), but it does work.

I'm sure that you can scan the pictures to your laptop, then email them to your iPad and save them to your camera roll. Hope this helps :)

There is no feed tray for automatically entering multiple pages. You need to put each page on the glass scanner manually and scan them one at a time.

After you scan your first page, it does ask you if you have another page to scan. You do not have to completely start the scanning process over for every page.

The printer does let you preview your scanned image before you save it. (optional)

The HP 2 year Care Pack costs $17.99
The HP 3 year Care Pack costs $24.99

Also, yes the installation is very simple for anybody to set it up. HP provides the buyer a simple interface with simple instructions to set up.

I'm on Wifi and didn't have to use the CD. It automatically picked up the signal. All I had to do was put the password to the Wifi in, just like my Kindle.

Most newer laptops do not have the CD slot any more. You should be able to download the drivers from HP.com. Under Support, select Download Drivers.
