I have the all access plan so I can listen in my car, on my cell phone and online. Every year I call Sirius to renew my yearly subscription and they always say its around $280 for the year. I tell them I can't pay that much and they offer me a deal for around $120 per year, which I have no problem paying. You have to make sure you call them before your subscription is about to expire or they will automatically charge your credit card for the $280 amount. As long as I can get the all access plan for $120 I will stay a happy customer with them, but if they insist that I pay more than that then I will have no other choice but to unsubscribe from Sirius. As bad as I would hate to do so, because I really do enjoy the service. They're really good about helping you though. I've been with Sirius for about 9-10 years now and I've always been happy with the service. Hopefully, I won't run into any problems in the future. Good luck!

A:

Buy the SIRIUS gift cards. You won't have to give a debit or credit card on line...which they will Charge. You have more control if you let your service lapse.... They will dance to make a deal. Then use the gift card to pay for your new lower negotiated rate. You can also get the SIGALERT app for a phone if traffic is the only thing you want your friend to have. You can also go on line and wheel and deal with SIRIUS for a different package.

I have been a Sirius XM subscriber for almost 5 years, and I've NEVER paid full price. Call the toll free number, and say it's too expensive, and they will offer you different offers, with the best offer for the SELECT plan at 6 months for $24.99, plus taxes and royalty fees. THERE IS A TRICK: YOU MUST CALL before the six months are up, or they'll automatically bill you the current rate. I call about a month before and say that it's too high, and they come back with the 6 month for $24.99 deal every time...without fail. It takes about 10 minutes on the phone. It's not the best way to do business, but that's the way it is if you want a good deal with them.
This is for the Select Plan. The best deal that I've gotten for the All Access Plan is $119.00, plus taxes and royalty fees for a year.
DON'T GIVE THEM A CREDIT CARD, use the gift cards. They'll try and charge you 2 bucks more, but if you insist they drop that also.
I know this seems complicated, but you'll save a lot of money...

I just got that same email, clicked to have the link sent and then went to my account..I owe nothing like the email said I did. Also checked the "last for" is the account number and that did not match my actual account. So be very careful of stuff like that.

Hi Kit,
I do not provide Sirius xm with any credit card info.
I only use the prepaid Sirius gift cards to eliminate the potential for a scam. They will not accept a prepaid Visa.
They will authorize a plan with just a gift card if you go through the hassle of calling...

They probably just want to gain you as a steady subscriber and not just the occasional pre pay cards. If the cards are for you, you can get some pretty awesome subscription deals for a year if you let them know you are on a budget. But call them direct. Don’t respond to emails with credit card info. Love the music. Hard to do without it once you got it!

Depends on what package you buy and what discounted rate they are willing to give you. I usually get the Select package at about $5/ month. A six month plan with taxes and fees run about $35. So this card would cover about 1 1/2 renewals. Any excess is kept as a credit on your account for the next renewal.

About 6 months worth. For your car radio. I was able to get a 6 month pacakage for 30 buck and change. Left me 11 bucks. For the car and xm on the app. Was about 63 bucks. I did this 12/27/18

I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but $50 will give you $50 worth of Sirius XM.

The reason for my answer is that I always renegotiate a lower rate, so the $50 goes further than it would had I paid the published rate. Call the toll free number and ask for the Retention Department. They will give you basically two choices:
6 months for $30.00 for the Select Plan, which is about $35 to $40 with fees and taxes (depending on where you live)
12 months for $119.00 for the All-Access Plan, which is about $140 to $150 with fees and taxes.

The Royalty fee seems to go up frequently, and that's the majority of the "fees". Right now, the Royalty rate is 19.1%.

I am told that once the gift card funds are exhausted, I will be invoiced for subscription costs if I don't want to add a CC. If I call to cancel at that time, should I expect it to take multiple efforts for them to cancel? Talking to Sirius makes me sick

Yes, if you login to your account online you'll see the is a box on the main page for redeeming a prepaid card. All you do is enter the code on the card on your account will be credited the face value of the card. Yes you can add as many cards as you want to redeem. You could also do this on the phone when you call them about renewing your subscription at a better price, but some of the reps don't seem to know about using prepaid cards. Their playbook is geared strictly to credit cards or invoices. So better to have the money in your account before you call.
Using a prepaid card does 2 things: One, it keeps them from having your credit card number on file so they can't automatically bill you at their exhorbitant retail rate. Teo, it saves you from having to pay a $2 invoice fee if you don't use a credit card.
As for is it better than other streaming services, probably not. It's more convenient, since it's built into most cars today, But so is Pandora, which is free (with ads).

You can add as many prepaid cards as you like.
Once you login to your account click on the redeem gift card prepaid tab. You van enter the card and it will give you credit ive used 2-3 cards at a time no problem. As dar as streaming i can say, i just use the radio portion of SiriusXM.

Yes, I ordered two gift cards and was able to add them to my account at the same time, before I had to pay for my subscription so that the charges came out of the gift card balance when they were due. Also the customer service person was very helpful if you have any questions about how to load them on to your account. I use both Sirius and Spotify.

I use cards and since I have it on two cars the times are different on their expiration I add them to each account when I get the cards. When you sign up they have to have a credit card on file but I put the cards on the account number if it isn’t the total amount they only add the remaining amount.

Yeah, these prepaid cards are easy to use once you have opened an account with Sirius. They own XM and Pandora now, too. Just login to your account, and add the codes on your prepaid cards to your account. It will carry over the ramaining balance to your next bill which is usually 6 months later. Remember to call Sirius during your first billing or opening of your account to set your subscription rate.
