I have Wifi also and wasn't sure how easy it would be to connect. Once you follow the easy setup steps and turn on the TV, it automatically guides you through the process. It detected I had wifi and all I had to do was enter my password for my wife and it connected automatically.
Wifi support built in, no external dongle required...so if you have wireless access, it's ready to connect; and the interface to connect is very straight forward and easy to use

The TV is a smart tv so it has streaming like Amazon prime video, Netflix, Hulu, etc. you do not need to hook up any external device in order to stream anything
It has wi-fi, and all the usual suspects are there for streaming: Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Pandora, Amazon, Play, Flixter, CinemaNow, and a bunch more lesser known services.
any good quality surge protector will work. Best Buy sells Rocketfish which is one of their house brands. Surge protectors last a very long time. Typically you would only need to replace if the surge protector was "surged" or hit by lightening.
I don't think you need a specific surge protector. I picked one up from Lowe's when I went and it was about $20. Don't remember the brand but it was black and yellow. I believe it does have a lifetime guarantee, but you just have to check the packaging to make sure of the guarantees and that you're picking up a surge protector and not just a regular power strip.
