Not silly at all! All current generation Samsung TVs are digital cable and Antenna ready. All of our TVs include a coax ATSC/QAM tuner that handles digital and analogue broadcast signals as well. No external boxes or equipment needed (besides the coax cable itself) to view your basic cable. However, an antenna is required for over the air broadcasts. Premium service may require additional equipment and fees. Please contact your service provider for details.-MrSamsung

As a matter of fact, the UN32EH5000 will offer the Eco Sensor.Additionally, these two models are actually the same units. The last few characters in the model number are used by Samsung for shipping and tracking purposes mainly and are sometimes used by retailers to better track their own inventory. Very rarely do these characters mean that the units offer different features or sizes.

we bought this tv to use primarily as a second monitor for our laptop. when we hook up the laptop to the tv using the hdmi cable, the picture is fine but we get no sound from the tv. we've connected this way to our other samsung tv and the sound works fine. can anyone offer any suggestions to getting sound from the tv?by

After owning a number of HDTVs I know that distortion in Wide Screen mode is typically caused when the wrong mode is selected for the content being viewed. Standard definition programming (DVD) has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and HD has an aspect ration of 16:9. Typically when watching SD programming to eliminate the stretch you need to select the SD profile from the menu of your TV and this will center the image leaving black bars on both sides of the screen.by

Sara,The panel will always convert whatever signal is coming into the television into a 1080p signal, since only a 1080p signal can be shown on a 1080p panel.
If your DVD player is sending a 480 resolution signal, the TV will turn it into 1080p
If your Cable box is sending a 720 resolution signal, the TV will turn it into 1080p
If your Blu-Ray player is sending a 1080p signal, the TV will show the 1080p signal.
Now, the TV will add resolution using processing, and it may not be Blu-Ray quality if you're watching a DVD (which is standard definition). But that upconversion process is still automatic.
What the Information Bar is displaying is your INCOMING resolution. That way, you know what the incoming resolution from your devices really is.

A 1 year parts and labor warranty is included on new UN32EH5000 models.You can register your television online on Samsung.com (which will qualify you for an additional 3 months for free), and there are also extended warranties available from Best Buy as well for maximum long-term coverage.

Although the UN32EH5000 does not have direct access to Samsung Apps (like Netflix, Pandora or YouTube), it can display App content from a 2010-12 Samsung BD player or other internet capable device (the blu-ray player/internet capable device will handle the Internet content processing, while the TV displays the content. Similar to how a monitor will display the PC’s video signal).For a TV in this size range that does offer Internet connectivity (connects to a wireless home network using the built-in WiFi system), please take a look at the UN32ES6500.

Due to the nature of the cross compatible connectors (HDMI, Composite(RCA yellow/red/white), Component(red/green/blue), Optical), you will be more than able to connect any device that offers the aforementioned connections to the Samsung TVs, regardless of manufacturer. Unfortunately, since I do not know all of the connections offered by all of the different devices on the market, you will have to refer to your devices’ manual to find out which connection is best to use with this Samsung TV. There are no special converters required. Aforementioned Cables will be required for normal operation.For your reference, the UN32EH5000 offers the following connections (however, none of the Samsung TVs will offer video output):
