No, you have to start a workout in order for this to start counting calories, unless you start the workout and sit on the couch! I hope you understand what I mean, its not like the fitbit that is counting calories and steps 24/7, you have to wear the heart rate monitor, too.by

No, the FT4 does not connect to MapMyFitness. You would need to consider a product like the A300 or if you wish, perhaps utilize a fitness app with the H7 heart rate sensor - Mike @ Polar USAby
