No. Inadaquate hardware and you would have to rig it to emulate the correct OS. STEAM doesn't run either. A Chromebook is just not a gaming station, it's more oriented to be a web terminal.

In short, "No"; a Chromebook is at it's heart a Linux machine. Both Second Life and InWorldZ have very high graphical requirements that exceed what the hardware can do; but they would also have components that would have to be emulated that would further slow performance.

The Google Chrome browser supports over 40 languages, safe bet that Google is going to officially support the languages of the countries the CB are going to go on sale in...I can't confirm 100%, but would be very surprised if Chinese\Mandarin wasn't supported.

You can run into some issues printing directly, but it's do-able...However, a nice solution here is to use Google Drive or the Google Docs web service on your Mac. This will essentially synchronize everything your kids do on the Chromebook to a web interface on the Mac. Think iTunes meets collaboration suite for your laptop. Then you can better control what they do, print, and access.

I don't believe so. Basically what you can do in the Chrome web browser on your computer is what it can do. There is little functionality beyond that.

It really depends on the program. The Chromebook is an embedded browser with a Linux Kernel. It can do a lot, but if you move away from native apps it starts to require you use emulation...this is not as efficient and your already using a bare bones device.

No, because it doesn't have java. However, I heard you can add java in developer mode, which may allow you to play the browser version. Besides, within a few years I'm sure there will be an HTML5 version of minecraft. I didn't think there was a pocket version of minecraft, but I could be mistaken.
