Without more information, it's difficult to know where to start looking for troubleshooting options.
Did you check to see if it worked with other ports or devices? Did you change the input selection on the player itself? (Sometimes if you change it to AUX or other inputs, that may cause the audio to stop). Additional options might be to check your wire and test with a different audio wire.
