Thank you for your inquiry.
There are one or 2 things you can do to check if the remote for your LG - 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer - Model # NB3530A is still working, but before anything else, check the battery compartment to see if there is any acid or alkaline residue left from the previous batteries that may have leaked into the remote. Sometimes when batteries die, if left in the remote for too long, they burst or leak into the remote and if that is the case, then you will need to get a new remote, there's not much you can do about that! If this happened recently, the battery compartment will still show some wetness, but if it happened a while ago, then you'll see a white residue and the copper nipple on the battery may have a white or greenish goo on it. If you touch that, wash you hands immediately because it's either acid or a highly caustic alkaline that will cause burns.
Also check to make sure that the batteries are aligned correctly. The positive end of the battery is the nipple and the negative is the flat side which should be put on the spring in the battery compartment. You'll be surprised how many times these are switched!
If you have a battery tester, test the batteries. You may think they are fresh, but sometimes, even though you buy them as new, if they have been sitting on a store shelf for a while, they exceed their shelf life and lose power!
The last thing you may want to check is the sheathing on the battery, sometimes it doesn't get cut properly so that it covers the bottom of the battery and in rare cases, it covers the nipple preventing the battery from making full contact with the electrodes.
There are other factors as to why your remote would have stopped working, but suffice it to say that if your remote has stopped working as a result of these factors, unless you know what to do, it may be better just to get a new remote!...IFV
