If it's a constant 1.5MB/s stream, and you don't have other network traffic going on while streaming, you can actually use some services like Netflix. Again, while a lot of this hinges on the reliability and consistency of your connection, you don't want to try to stream movies while someone else is on a Tablet streaming YouTube. Minimize the traffic on your network, and you should be fine.
Not all movie services may have the same results, but if that's all you have available, it can be done.
We do not recommend 1.5 speeds if you're using a cellular device as your internet connection.
You can receive regular television if you're close enough to the towers. I'd normally give you the FCC site that keeps track of stations for local programming and transmission, but that isn't available today due to the Federal Shutdown.
