Bought this to keep my Ooma phone, my router, and my cable modem online in case of power outage. I have a voice dialer for my sump pump and I can't afford to not know if my sump backup is down. This unit has half outlets on UPS and half with just surge protection. With the small amount of wattage i need for backup, this should give me a min. of 3 hrs backup.

Best bang for buck

It is a DOCSIS 3.0 modem and it works perfect on Comcast. Unlike my Comcast rental modem, this unit does not need to be reset after a power interruption. Best Buy online was cheaper than in store and store honored the online price.

It depends on how close the strike is. If it hits directly to a device plugged in, it may only survive one strike.
