This one came as somewhat of a surprise, as it had just come out during the last cycle of the ps3 and wasn't really accepted that well amongst the populous. However, this is a fun game upon revisiting, especially when played in tow with RE5. Recommended for those who haven't played this game yet.

This RE game, when it came out, was somewhat disappointing. However, upon replaying this remaster, my opinion has changed drastically. While not the best in the series, this is where the series becomes a mindlessly fun action/horror game. The graphics look slightly better, but not a huge improvement - I would say this version is still definitely the one to get. Great for all fans of RE and horror games.

Continuing the love from my Ghostbusters PopArt Steelbook review, just as much can be said for the Ghostbusters 2 PopArt release - it's a wonderful addition to my collection. I love the designs coming from the PopArt collective and I'm glad Best Buy is putting them on steel. Both films have artwork that emulates with 80's goodness, with vibrant neon colors (Blue/Green tones and colors for the first film, Yellow/Orange for the second.) I can't wait to see what's next - Keep em' coming!

Without a doubt, Best Buy's PopArt steelbook collection has some of my favorite steelbook designs. Though they use the standard steelbook, without any sort of gloss work, or other fancy steelbook doings (i.e. Mondo or Zavvi), these things are nothing to get hung up on. As an avid steelbook collector, I can't wait to see what the future holds for Best Buy and PopArt.

This Volume of Nikkatsu films differs quite a bit from Vol.1, with the first being a set of cool Japanese crime films, and the second being an equally cool set of Japanese crime/comedies - most of the set lying heavily on the comedic side. This really is more of a treat, as Arrow Video followed up Nikkatsu Diamond Guys Vol.1 with another bombshell of Japanese crime with the Outlaw VIP set and the Battles Without Honor And Humanity set, another set of pure Japanese crime cinema would seem redundant. Yes, I do realize that for fans like myself there is no such thing as too much, but I do enjoy change - and here is a pleasant change in tone and character. While we still have stories that revolve around acts of ill repute, they are also drenched in some of the greatest humor I've ever seen. Not only that, but I don't think I've seen too many Japanese films of this caliber and style - and I have seen A LOT of Japanese cinema. For fans of the Volume 1, or just for fans of world cinema, this set should be purchased and watched repeatedly. Highly recommended!

Michael Mann's film adaptation of Thomas Harris' novel Red Dragon is probably closest to nailing the vision of the book down, as opposed to some of the other adaptations. By now we have seen several incarnations of the Hannibal Leckter character and everybody has their favorite, so I won't really bother getting into this character too much - other than to say that Brian Cox does a great job portraying the good doctor in a very realistic way. Very subtle, but also very dangerous. The character I would mainly like to point out and focus on is the serial killer at the heart of the hunt - The Tooth Fairy. Tom Noonan does an amazing job with the character, genuinely creeping me out in some scenes. This is a person I would avoid at all costs based on his looks alone - he's just that creepy. You can't help but fear for anyone who shares a room with this guy, let alone the blind woman that does end up embracing him in warming way in the film. There's some good tension between these two, as they get very close to one another and she has no idea what the monster next her even looks like, she just knows his shy, slightly gentle voice and his even more fragile touch. The man on the other end of the hunt is ex-agent Will Graham. Will has the gift of a certain brand of clairvoyance, one that allows him to put himself in the shows of the killer and see what the killer sees - and does. Is this really a gift, or is Will just as crazy as the killers he chases. When we meet Will at the beginning of the film he is no longer an active agent, as his backstory goes he had captured Doctor Leckter, but not without taking his "gift" to some very dark places. Reluctantly, Will decides to come on board and offer what ever help he can, but as the case grows, so does Will's obsession with finding the killer - ultimately driving him back into depths of mental madness that he was previously so afraid of reaching. The film is an exceptional crime film, especially for anyone that is a fan of the Hannibal series, whether it be book or film. In my opinion, these are the type of films Michael Mann really shines on and Manhunter is no exception. Though, with this being an early Mann piece, there are some errors intact, mostly near the end when the production had run out of money. These scenes are very obvious, but when you find out the techniques employed to achieve certain effect, you cant help but have more praise from Mann as a creative talent. Another minor grip is with the Director's Cut, the DC scenes weren't given the HD treatment and actually look like the grainy stock footage straight from the cutting room floor. From what I've read this is just something we have to deal with. Fortunately the rest of the scenes are in HD. The Theatrical Cut is completely HD. There is a ton of content in the directors cut to really make a huge difference in the film, but the DC is definitely the preferred version for me. For casual viewers, the theatrical cut is still just as good of a film, so you can stick with this version if you are bothered by the DC insertions.
After moving to a small town, Zach Cooper finds a silver lining when he meets next door neighbor Hannah, the daughter of bestselling Goosebumps series author R.L. Stine. Stine is very strange and mysterious and it turns out for good reason. He is a prisoner of his own imagination - the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it's suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.

When it comes to Goosebumps I am somewhat of an old man. I remember when the book series started, as well as I remember working hard in school so my parents would purchase me some of the books from the book fair or the scholastics book-order in class. I hated reading, but I loved two things literary as a kid; one being Scary Stories and the other being Goosebumps. Having read all the originals as a kid and watching my son work his way through the old series and the new, it was good to see that the film catered to both of us. Jack Black was great as R.L. Stine. The movie featured a great blend of all the old monsters that us older readers will remember from the books. I must admit, as an adult I was still excited to see these creatures brought to life, and in such a fun way. It was enough to drive me back to old Goosebumps TV series for some nostalgia viewing.

After receiving two assassins creed games in one year and the atrocity that was Unity, it is finally good to see a return to form the Assassins Creed franchise. This game feels much more refined and has more substance to it than what Unity provided. Plus, its technically sound - no ridiculous game-breaking bugs, just the usual minor bugs that AC fans are used to. Though this game is still a far departure from the beloved Ezio Auditore from the trilogy that spawned off of AC2.

When it comes to anime, whether you're a fan or not, Akira is just one of those films that needs to be seen. Words cannot do enough justice to explain how great this movie is. I would normally try to avoid using such descriptions for a movie, but in this case I just feel it is true. Perhaps that's because I put this movie off for a long time and when I finally sat down and viewed it I was just that blown away. Either way, I love it, and I wouldn't really call myself a fan of anime. I consider myself more of a fan of just film as a whole. Enough said.
