One of the all time great Batman stories

Let me preface this review with the fact that I'm a HUGE Batman fan. TDKR is widely considered one of the best Batman stories, ever. I think the animated movie does a great job at capturing the essence of the original graphic novel. It does stray a bit away from the original in parts, but probably makes it better overall in my opinion. This movie comes in two parts and I recommend both. If you are a parent considering this for your child, just know there is a small bit of risque material in part two.

Not as good as Lord of the Rings

As someone who loves the Tolkien universe, it pains me to write a negative review about such a great story. But if I'm being honest, the entire Hobbit trilogy is just not up to par with the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Maybe we were spoiled by the first trilogy, but this one is just not great. Fair at best. Luke Evans (Bard) is a stand out, however.
