Sam Raimi brings to Oz to wonderful life with this charming adventure. A visual delight. The audio and picture quality is superb and there are a neat selection of bonus features.

In 1941, audiences were taken by storm with The Wolf Man. Now, in 2010, a new generation of audiences were treated to a big budget remake. Rick Baker brings the wolfman to startling life and overall, it's a gory romp!

In this chilling reboot of the 80s horror classic, Landon Liboiron of TERRA NOVA stars as high school senior Will Kidman, whose infatuation with a beautiful classmate (Lindsey Shaw of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS) begins to trigger certain teenage animal instincts. But when a mysterious woman (Ivana Milicevic of CASINO ROYALE) with a shocking secret re-enters his life, Will learns that he is heir to a powerful line of werewolves. Now he finds he has a choice to make succumbing to his primal nature or turning against his own. In order to fight the destiny of his legacy and save the girl of his dreams, he must battle not only his growing blood lust but an army of fearsome beasts hell-bent on killing US all. Tonight, the full moon rises. The horror begins anew. This is THE HOWLING REBORN.

The Howling from 1981 has to be one of the best werewolf films ever made. It's sequels, however, have all been sorely lacking. Luckily, The Howling Reborn, while more or less copies Twilight in parts, at least doesn't totally suck. The werewolf effects are at least solid.

Apart from the 1940s Wolfman and An American Werewolf in London, The Howling is one of the most memorable werewolf movies of all time. Scream Factory doesn't disappoint with this collector's edition that features hours of bonus materials (some ported from the MGM DVD, others made especially for the release).
Prepare for double the action, double the terror and double the Ds. The prehistoric school of bloodthirsty piranhas are back and this time, no one is safe from the flesh-eating fish as they sink their razor sharp teeth into the visitors of summers best attraction, the Big Wet Water Park. Starring Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, David Koechner, Chris Zylka, Katrina Bowden, Gary Busey, Christopher Lloyd and David Hasselhoff.

Imagine 2010s Piranha for a moment. Now imagine that everything went wrong with that film. This is the result. A hackjob sequel with horrible special effects and little gore.

This is the second remake to Piranha and it's the most fun, filled with all sorts of nudity and absolutely delightful graphic gory violence. A fun time, though it's not for everyone.

The first of three direct to video sequels produced by Syfy, Lake Placid 2 lacks the charm and wit of the original and features some vomit-inducing special effects. It's just not good at all.
Relaxing vacations may never be the same once viewers see the killer crocodile movie Lake Placid written by Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelly. Fox has done only passable work on this title, producing a 2.35:1 non-anamorphic widescreen version of the film. While all aspects of the picture look good (colors, black levels, fleshtones), the sad fact still remains that this is a disappointingly non-anamorphic title. Otherwise, no edge enhancement or shimmer was spotted during the feature. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and sounds very nice. Dialogue, effects, and composer John Ottman's tense score all sound free of any distortion, with directional effects used well. Lake Placid may feature a large reptile, but when it comes to extra features, this disc is as a small as a tadpole. The only supplements featured on this edition include a very short five-minute featurette on the making of Lake Placid, some TV spots, a theatrical trailer, and some cast and crew biographies. Fans of David E. Kelly may delight in this horror-comedy romp, but DVD fanatics will likely be sore to find the disc lacking in any well-produced extras.

At first glance, one would think this is just your average killer croc film. However a witty script and a likable cast of a-holes make this film an 80 minute gem to watch.
