If you need Queen for your music collection, there are 2 reasons you should buy "Stone Cold Classics". The first, this is a superior song selection of Queen songs. Secondly, you get to hear 2 cover songs of Bad Company played by Queen with Paul Rodgers on vocals: "All Right Now" and "Feel Like Makin' Love". Both of these tunes were recorded live, in concert, from Queen + Paul Rodgers "Return Of The Champions". Really, Really, great stuff, hearing Queen & Paul Rodgers together! The historical and musical importance of Queen is so justified, this music will live on forever. Brian May's signature guitar sound and playing is stuff of superior greatness. Freddie Mercury was one of a kind, his vocals will forever be unmatched. John Deacon on bass and Roger Taylor on drums are living legends at their musical craft. The purchase of Queen "Stone Cold Classics" will be one of your finest choices of music you will ever make.
The liner notes contain 2 photos of Queen (with Freddie Mercury) and 1 photo of Queen (with Paul Rodgers), all in full color. Song credits are found in the liner notes. There are no lyrics in these liner notes.
What's great about it: 14 songs, It's Queen, song selection, Queen covers Bad Company with Paul Rodgers

Released in 1992, Motorhead did every fan of Metal a wonderful favor with "March Or Die". This album is catchy, with great songs all. I have to say this Motorhead album contains some of the best grooves of any in their catalog. "Cat Scratch Fever", the Ted Nugent classic, is covered here with unrestrained heaviness and is an infectious tune that should be on your play list for years to come. "Hellraiser" is triggered off from the get-go by Mikkey Dee on drums, with Lemmy's heavy bass kicking in, this tune soars. Slash (Gun's N' Roses/Velvet Revolver) lends his legendary guitar solo talent to "I Ain't No Nice Guy" and "You Better Run". "Bad Religion" is one of the heaviest tunes you will ever hear from Motorhead. "Stand" is a great opening statement of a track to open "March Or Die". Whether you are looking for a great Hard Rock or Metal album to get you inspired, "March Or Die" covers all heavy Rock & Roll ground here. In my opinion, this is one Motorhead album that really pumps up the psych meter. Your purchase of this album is the correct choice, plus it will serve you right!
Motorhead on "March Or Die": Lemmy Kilmister/vocals & bass, Phil Campbell/guitar, Wurzel/guitar and Mikkey Dee on drums. "Hellraiser" was co-written with Lemmy Kilmister, Ozzy Osbourne and Zakk Wylde.
What's great about it: "Cat Scratch Fever" covered awesome, Slash as guest, "Hellraiser", Lemmy on vocals & bass.

Black Sabbath "Dehumanizer" was released in 1992 with Ronnie James Dio making a return for another run alongside guitarist Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler on bass and Vinny Appice on drums. Make no mistake about it, this is a really decent Black Sabbath album, with all of the trademark heavy riffs and mysterious and dark lyrics. Ronnie James Dio sounds like he never left Black Sabbath on "Dehumanizer". I feel the band sounds just as powerful as they left off from "The Mob Rules" album. "After All (The Dead)" is a melancholy & dark, mid-paced song, that allows Dio the freedom to sing with sincere emotion. "Computer God" and "Master of Insanity" are two heavy driven tunes that showcases why Tony Iommi (on guitar) and Geezer Butler (on bass) are so immortal in the Heavy Metal music world. These songs have underlying intelligent themes about them that I find interesting. "Time Machine" is a catchy and heavy song with a more commercial approach to Metal, yet for a Black Sabbath song it is more on the heavy. Vinny Appice is so distinguishable on drums, he is excellent throughout this entire album. Overall, "Dehumanizer" made for an interesting and likable compliment to all the other Dio fronted Black Sabbath albums. You are not getting "The Mob Rules" album here, yet you are not getting a rehashed filler album either. This is in my opinion, an excellent album from Black Sabbath, that should finally get the credit and recognition it so justly deserves. Any Heavy Metal fan will get a Metal kick out of "Dehumanizer".
What's great about it: Ronnie James Dio on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, every song, cool lyrics.

Kreator is back. Really, in a very gigantic way, Kreator has now let it be known, they are the measuring stick for all new Thrash Metal albums, that are released in 2009. Germany has a national treasure here with Kreator. This album is that great, it is downright unbelievable! The vocals, pounding bass, shredding guitar work and ear ripping drum blasts are incredibly powerful. Eye popping and jaw dropping, contagiously real and ridiculously addicting is "Hordes Of Chaos". "Corpses of Liberty" is an instrumental, an acoustic breather from the barrage of Thrash excellence from the first 8 songs. In a crazy kind of way, thank goodness it exists here on this album, the break from the monstrous hailstorm of music is only a minute, then "Demon Prince" kicks in and it is a lightning strike of a song. What an explosive way to conclude "Hordes Of Chaos", it is an exclamation point to this incredible Kreator release. Every song is great, I could not be more honest than to say "Hordes Of Chaos" is a Thrash Metal album for the ages. I feel Kreator has driven home the fact they want to stake their claim of Thrash Metal and keep it. The entire Extreme Metal community should be thankful for Kreator and "Hordes Of Chaos", I certainly am. This is gonna be one difficult Thrash Metal album to top for a very, very, very, long time. Owning "Hordes Of Chaos" should be a mandatory Metalhead requirement for 2009.
The liner notes are 20 pages of extremely cool, expanded artwork, complete lyrics and credits. This is some of the most fantastic artwork I have ever seen in Metal, simply a superior job. There is also a photo of the band which spans over two pages.
What's great about it: Everything. Really, the music, vocals, every song. Artwork is cool too.

"The very best of Rainbow" is a celebration of one mighty Hard Rock - Heavy Metal band that boasted three tremendous lead vocalists throughout the years. Ronnie James Dio, Graham Bonnet and Joe Lynn Turner. Each singer appears on this "Best Of" album, the highlights for Ronnie James Dio are: "Man On The Silver Mountain" and "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll". Graham Bonnet shines on "Since You Been Gone" and "All Night Long". Joe Lynn Turner is spotlighted on "Power", "Jealous Lover", "Stone Cold" and "Street Of Dreams". Ritchie Blackmore was the lead guitarist for this superior group, the founder and mainstay of Rainbow. The bluesy Hard Rock and at times, Heavy Metal sound of Ritchie Blackmores guitar thrived while having such incredible lead singers to front Rainbow. The lyrics to these songs are incredibly innocent compared to today's standards, the songs are very melodic and powerful, glimmering with all of the "old school" elements of heaviness. Every song in this collection is excellent, I recommend this album to all fans of Classic Rock, Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. Rainbow crossed over these aforementioned music genres, leaving behind a wonderful legacy of outstanding music.
What's great about it: Ronnie James Dio, Joe Lynn Turner on vocals, Ritchie Blackmore on guitar!

If you are looking to buy the "best" Ozzy Osbourne album, this very well may be it. "No More Tears" was commercially successful for Ozzy, breaking into the "Top 10 album charts" in the United States. Released in 1991, the most famous single here is "MaMa, I'm Coming Home", this ballad instantly became an FM radio favorite, exposing Ozzy's softer side. "Mr. Tinkertrain" opens this album and it is a heavy hitter. "No More Tears" is another single that became very popular on mainstream radio as well, a more up tempo ballad. My favorite track on this album is "Hellraiser", co-written with Ozzy, lead guitarist Zakk Wylde and the legendary vocalist/bassist from Motorhead - Lemmy Kilmister. "Hellraiser" is just a solid, bona fide, fired up Heavy Metal tune. I strongly urge you to play this song very loud! Zakk Wylde and Lemmy Kilmister also co-wrote with Ozzy the song "MaMa I'm Coming Home". "Time After Time" is simply an amazing, inspirational, heavy song that I hit the "repeat" button for every time I listen. Every song on "No More Tears" is so worthy, a legitimate and complete album is this. The bonus tracks are not filler material whatsoever, they are both very strong Ozzy songs, these songs belong here. Overall, this is a tremendous album from Ozzy Osbourne. I urge any fan of Hard Rock or Metal to buy this album and enjoy it as much as I do!
The liner notes are very cool, with 16 pages of complete lyrics, anecdotes and the story behind this album "No More Tears", with many quotes from Ozzy himself. There are many photos of Ozzy plus a 2 page photo of the band in these liner notes too.
What's great about it: Ozzy's vocals, Zakk Wylde on guitar wow! Every song, all the lyrics.

Rush "Spirit of Radio: Greatest Hits 1974-1987" spans the prolific career of this incredibly talented Progressive Hard Rock band. The albums represented are from the debut 1974 album "Rush" up to the 1987 release "Hold Your Fire". You will hear how Rush progressed as a band, from the riff heavy "Working Man" to the progressive and technical "Time Stand Still". If your CD collection is minus a Rush selection, this is the single best way to add this amazing band. The Rush catalog of albums is extensive, they very well could have more greatest hits CD's of deeper album cuts! The lyrics of Neil Peart, along with his drumming, is stand alone in the world of Rock music. Geddy Lee with his musical genius, creating synthetic sounds and playing the bass with a style no one else can duplicate. Geddy Lee's vocals are also unique, again, no other vocalist out there sounds remotely close. Alex Lifeson is the backbone of the band, displaying his skills with the guitar in songs like "Freewill", "Closer To The Heart" and "Tom Sawyer". Alex Lifeson has proved that you can play heavy without the guitar solo. "The Trees" is the most mellow song on this disc, it is a strong showing of just how diversified Rush is with Rock, the subtleness of song is at times it's best strength. Dive into this "Greatest Hits" from Rush, you will be amazed at how intricate, technical, delicate, strong, heavy, diversified and powerful this band can be on one album.
The liner notes are a nifty package of 16 full color pages, with expanded artwork, band photos throughout the years, a visual showing of each album cover from 1974 - 1987, album credits and song credits.
What's great about it: Each member of Rush, every song, every lyric!

Whoa. Wow. This is one dandy of a live album, AC/DC really puts it all on high and engulfs you with their outstanding set list of songs. Being a fan who has seen AC/DC multiple times in concert over the years, I can honestly say that this "live" album sounds incredible! You are not only getting a super quality live album, the song selection is a greatest hits as well. AC/DC combines the Bon Scott era with the Brian Johnson era of songs. Whenever I hear Brian Johnson sing a Bon Scott song, it is done with artistic class and sung very well. "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", "T.N.T." and "A Whole Lotta Rosie" are a few examples of the late Bon Scott era tunes. "The Jack" is a tremendous song that gets the crowd fired up, this tune has always been a mainstay for AC/DC during all of their live performances, plus this song was a signature song for the late Bon Scott. Every AC/DC fan knows how important it is to have "The Jack" on a live album like this! Brian Johnson sounds fabulous with his raspy and grainy voice. Angus Young is exceptional as always. Malcolm Young on guitar and Cliff Williams on bass are always super. Chris Slade, (The Firm), is on drums and fits in perfectly. Go for AC/DC "Live" and you will certainly agree, this is a hard rocking and inspiring concert of legendary songs, performed by Rock & Roll Hall of Famers.
The liner notes are hot, with 12 full color pages of AC/DC, loaded with band photos, a written history of AC/DC and their album catalog, song credits and credits.
What's great about it: Angus Young on guitar, it's live, quality sound, every song, AC/DC period!

This AC/DC album is in an elite group of important and great Rock albums of all time. This is my opinion, for it launched the career of AC/DC here in the United States like a juggernaut on fire. The title track hit the FM radio airwaves in 1979, the rest is AC/DC history! The late Bon Scott is at his very delightful best on this album. Angus and Malcolm Young are truly incredible at simplifying this heavy music into a deliriously catchy, bluesy, melodic, work of heavy musical art. AC/DC basically broke the doors down for all Hard Rock and Heavy Metal bands to jump head first into mainstream radio and rewrite Rock & Roll history. "Touch To Much" is a powerhouse of a Heavy Metal song, it is a full blown get psyched out to the maximum listen! "Girls Got Rhythm" is a fabulous cut here as well, another song that received plenty of attention in it's heyday. Every song cooks on this album, it is essential to own and mandatory listening for all Hard Rock and Metal fans worldwide. Phil Rudd on drums and Cliff Williams on bass round out this legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band.
The liner notes are fabulous, with a written history of the album, it's timeline and behind the scenes anecdotes. These liner notes are basically a 16 page booklet that is full color, loaded with AC/DC photos. The liner notes booklet along with the CD itself combine for a tremendous value, both in listening to the music and as an AC/DC collectable.
What's great about it: Bon Scott on vocals, Angus Young on guitar, every song.

Looking for that one Hard Rock/Heavy Metal album that will rev you up? An album that will always be on your play list? A classic Heavy Metal album that will have you begging for more? Here it is, "Straight Between The Eyes" by the legendary and never forgotten Rainbow. Ritchie Blackmore on guitar is pure greatness, his bluesy Hard Rock/Metal style is unique and completely flawless. Joe Lynn Turner on vocals is so amazing, his approach has always been seamless, bringing out the highlights of the song with his voice alone. "Power" is my mainstay track here, this song will get you into such a positive mood, it will not wear off for hours! This song is it's title, powerful. "Stone Cold" is a melodic song that could have been a ballad with any other band, yet Rainbow rocks this song to the point where no band could ever cover it right. "Death Alley Driver" is the heaviest tune on this album, it flows heavy with perfection along with Turner's vocals. "Miss Mistreated" is just a great song period. The rhythm section on this song steals the show. I have never heard a Rainbow album I did not love, "Straight Between The Eyes" will wow you and have you wishing this lineup was still intact. Every Deep Purple, Hard Rock and Classic Heavy Metal fan will delight in this music.
What's great about it: Great songs, great lyrics, Joe Lynn Turner on vocals, Ritchie Blackmore on guitar.
