A thin thread of electronic data may be the only thing that can save a women and her family in this thriller. Jessica Martin (Kim Basinger) is a biology teacher who is kidnapped by Greer (Jason Statham), a vicious criminal who has threatened to murder her husband and son if he doesn't get what he wants. Greer destroys the only working telephone in the cabin where she's held, but Jessica manages to put enough of the pieces together to send out a call that's picked up by Ryan (Chris Evans), a college student, on his cellular phone. Jessica manages to convince Ryan of the gravity of her situation, but she has no idea of where she's being held, leaving his cell phone as the only link to her whereabouts -- and his batteries are starting to wear out. Cellular was scripted by Larry Cohen, the exploitation film auteur who enjoyed a major comeback with his script for another telephone-based story, Phone Booth.

I'm a big fan of Kim Basinger and thought she did a good job in this movie. Great plot line with alot of action, and suspense. Will keep you interested and on the edge of your seat, at times.
John Woo's first big-budget Hollywood film, Broken Arrow, comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. One English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a second English track and a French soundtrack are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Extra features include the original theatrical trailer. Genre enthusiasts and Woo fans will want to view this disc, but there might not be enough on it to interest others.

I haven't see this movie in a few years, but remembered liking it and wanted to own it for my video library. It has alot of action and it's always fun to watch John Travolta as a bad guy.

Trapped is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and English 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound, enabling for true enjoyment of John Ottman's musical score. Disappointingly, Fox didn't open up the vault with this disc in terms of special features, but the ones that did find their ways onto the DVD are marginally good. To start, there's the obligatory "making-of" featurette. Nothing too notable here, but it does take viewers into the history of the film and its stars through a series of interviews and film clips. Of the two screen-specific commentaries, the one with screenwriter/novelist Greg Iles prevails over the one with director Luis Mandoki because Iles provides more insight into the story and characters. Five deleted scenes and an alternate ending are two more special features not to be missed on the disc, which also contains French and English subtitles, theatrical trailers, and actor filmographies.

This movie has alot of suspense and intensity. You get to see Dakota Fanning, when see was just starting out, as the little girl, and also Courtney Love. Who knew she was interested in acting? I always enjoy a good Kevin Bacon movie, and he is such a convincing bad guy.
Penny Marshall's directorial debut, Jumpin' Jack Flash, stars Whoopi Goldberg as a woman who becomes involved in some international intrigue. The film makes its debut on DVD with a pair of transfers: the widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of the film and is preferable to the standard full-frame image. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Mono. English and Spanish subtitles are also accessible. Supplemental materials include the trailer for this film as well as for four other Whoopi films.

It's geat to get the original and the sequel, at the same time. I'm always up for a Harrison Ford movie, and these did not dissappoint. There is so much action and drama, that will keep you interested until the end.
Goldie Hawn delivers a surprisingly understated performance (allowing the audience to shift their laughter from the usually comic Hawn to the unbelievable storyline) in the unsuccessful thriller Deceived. Hawn plays Adrienne Saunders, a successful art restorer who is married to Jack (John Heard), a devoted husband who is also an expert in the antiques business. Married for six years and parents of a charming 5-year-old daughter Mary (Ashley Peldon), the Saunders appear to have everything going for them. But after a series of odd occurrences that even an idiot would notice, Adrienne finally comes the conclusion that her husband is not the man she thought he was when she married him. After Jack tells Mary that he was in Boston but Adrienne's friend tells her she saw him in New York, the mysterious clues begin piling up and are too numerous to ignore: there's a call from a department store concerning some sexy lingerie that Jack purchased; a friend is found murdered after checking on the authenticity of an Egyptian necklace; and there are indications that Jack was involved with a scheme to steal artifacts from a museum. Adrienne is finally convinced that something is fishy about her husband when he mysteriously dies is an auto wreck, and she discovers that Jack has been using the name of a man who had died 16 years earlier. Adrienne proceeds to polish her magnifying glass and conducts some detective work on her own to find out who her husband really was. This is when the danger really begins.

I'm a big Goldie Hawn fan, and it was great to see her take a dramatic turn, in this movie. This movie starts out all "idealistic", and then takes you on a roller coaster ride. It will definatley keep your interest and has a great twist.

You can't beat this two pack! Harrison Ford is one of my favorite actors. These movies offer action, drama, etc. The plots are great. I remembered liking both of these so much, the last time I watched them, I wanted to own them for my video library.

This movie is so gripping, and at times has you on the edge of your seat. Jeff Bridges is one of my favorite actors and definately did not diappoint, and Glenn Close was so good in this movie. This movie has a great twist ending.
