Kill With Skill

In Bulletstorm you play as Grayson Hunt leader of Dead Echo, who has crash landed on a planet called Stygia. You and your robot friend Ishi must get off the planet filled with monsters and mutants. This is not your typical FPS.You have a leash on your left hand, and slows down time called "Bullet Time",that let's you do all types of combo kills called "Skillshots" on your foes. The voice acting is pretty much humorus with cussing and dirty jokes in between.Music is alot of rock music that sets the mood. The graphics are from the Unreal Engine 3,and are very detailed. The bad thing about the game is that it's too short,it takes only 5-6 hours to beat, there's no co-op story mode.In Echo you try to beat your friends in see who has the best skills on each stage.Anarchy is multiplayer mode, instead of player vs player you have to work together as a team to gain points and move on to the next wave.It does get a little stale after a while, but you do get gamerscore points for it.If your looking for a different type of FPS,I say pick this up.
What's great about it: Weapons,Humor
What's not so great: No Co-op,Multiplayer,Short Length

The Nightmare Continues

Dead Space 2 is a great sequel to the original.Once again you play as Isaac Clarke a man who has been scarred by the events during the last game. The gameplay is very familiar to gamers who played the last title, but with settle changes.Isaac's stasis meter recharges overtime when you don't use it,he also has upgraded suits and weapons to help him in the fight against the Necromorphs.Zero G is better than last game, you don't fly from wall to celing, you have total control over where you fly this time around.Melee attacks are better. The voice acting is very good. The music is very spooky, the screams from the Necromorphs are louder and more evil. The graphics are top notch just like the original game, but with more detail and brighter contrast.Story mode will take about 10 hours to complete, that is if you don't get scared and turn off the game for sake of FEAR.Multiplayer not really so good for this game.I know it was a good idea at the time, but they make the human players stronger than the Necromorphs at times which seems unbalanced.Bottom line this game is worth every penny to play again and again, that is if you're not to scared to play more than once.

Vanquish is a third person cover based shooter that gets it's formula from games like Gears of War.You play as Sam Gideon, who's a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agent also known as DARPA.He wears a ARS suit,a cutting edge mechanical suit outfitted with a vast array of features, including jet boosters attached to both arms and legs.Sam is also armed with an experimental weapon system called BLADE,which is capable of scanning any existing weapon and then transforming into a perfect replica of that weapon. The gameplay is fast and action packed, the controls are very responsive, the graphics are top notch with everything that's happening on screen, the voice acting is a bit on the chessy side. The only problems with the game is that it dosen't have a Co-op story mode or Multiplayer. And the game could have been a little longer. But it's still a fun fast-paced third person shooter.

It's game seven, tie game and there are only eight seconds remaining on the clock. Your teammate inbounds the ball to you, and you start to dribble up the floor crossing midcourt. Quickly you cross over and head to the left as the center sets a hard pick ~ knocking your defender off his feet. Seven seconds to go. You pass to the wing and cut to the right. Seconds continue to tick away as the forward comes up to set a screen. Your defender recovers and rushes up to cover you just as you receive the ball at the top of the three-point arc. You pump fake ~ he doesn't budge. You decide to put the ball on the deck and dribble to the right ~ three seconds to go. You stop and cross over to your left, causing the defender to lose his balance. You rise into the air and release the ball. Two seconds ~ flashbulbs pop and the crowd holds its collective breath. One second ~ the ball approaches the hoop, will there be overtime or glory?NBA 2K11 builds on the momentum of NBA 2K10 by improving every aspect of the series. Reach For Halo

I'm not a real big Halo fan,but i had fun playing this title.Master Chief is no longer the main character. You play as a new recruit to the Noble Team,a six person squad, whose members specialize in key roles and wear customized gear.Planet reach, the main base for UNSC military operations and home to 700 million civilians,is under attack from the Covenant.Your mission is to assist the human resistance and prevent the Covenant from destroying Reach, but it happens anyway. The game is powered by a new graphics engine designed to incorporate large-scale battles in more open environments.Enemy AI has also changed from earlier games, relying more on dynamic actions instead of scripted routines. Each soldier's armor now offers different abilities, depending on the equipped enhancements.A jetpack allows you to fly, active camouflage makes you invisible to enemies, sprint lets you dash at high speeds, and armor lock makes you temporarily invulnerable at the expense of movement. These abilities play an important role in multiplayer modes.Multiplayer includes such past faves like "Team Slayer" and "King of the Hill" along with new options. In "Headhunter",you collect flaming skulls from defeated opponents and attempt to deposit the skulls in designated areas for points. If yo are killed before you reach the target are, your collected skulls will fall to the ground for other to retrieve."Invasion" features a series of three team-oriented skirmishes designed in a similar style to Bad Company's rush mode."Stockpile" is a variant on capture the flag, while "Generator Defense" pits three Spartans versus three Covenant Elites in a battle to defend or destroy generators. In addition, you can create custom scenarios with the Forge option, take in-game screenshots, earn credits to cosmetically enhance your soldier, and record video to study combat techniques or to share with the community. So if this is your first or fifth time playing a Halo game I say buy it.

Mafia 2's story is nearly the games focus point.Set in the 40's and 50's Vito has return home on leave from World War II.Vito joined as a way to avoid jail time.Vito finds out his father died and left the family in debt.Vito reunites with his old friend Joe,and quickly joins a life of crime. The game is told through chapters. The game features a open-ended map, there are no side missions before, during, and after the game is over, but you can collect magazines and look at the pictures inside. The games guns are the same as the era the game takes place in, Tommy guns,Colt 1911,MP 40 and so on.Interacting with objects in the environment involves 2 action buttons standard action and a violent action, for example, when stealing a car,you can choose to either pick the lock or break the glass. The controls are good even when hiding behind objects such as walls, and crates,to shoot enemies you must flank them. The music is also a good tie in within the world,it makes you feel like you traveled back in time. The graphics at times felt a little dated, but it's the right style for the time.So if your a Godfather,Goodfellas or any gangsta movie fan pick this game up it will not disappoint.

The smell of trash assails you as you vault over a low dividing wall and right into a pile of refuse. You stand up in disgust but immediately trot down the dank alley before you; there isn't a second to lose in this desperate flight for your life. Your partner silently shadows you as you stalk to the next street. He may be an impulsive psychopath, but right now you have bigger problems. Your pursuers won't be long before they, too, are knee-deep in trash, but every escape holds a possible enemy. You scan the street, assess the possibilities and start to step out of the alley, prepared to casually blend in with the scurrying pedestrians. Just before your foot hits the pavement, your eyes lock onto the crisp uniform of the Shanghai police force bobbing through the crowd straight in your direction. You turn to vault back over the alley wall but hear the shouting voices of your pursuers on the other side. It seems that escape is impossible: how will you get out of this impossible situation?Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days takes you on a heart-pumping journey through the streets of Shanghai. Play as the psychopathic Lynch or the ex-mercenary Kane as you evade your pursuers and jump, run and fight your way through seedy streets and gritty rooftops. Take on the underworld in this brutal crime shooter but keep an eye on your player ~ you never know if he'll snap. Fragile alliance multiplayer mode, arcade modes, single-player, online and offline co-op modes offer plenty of opportunities to test your shooting skills as you side with these two unhinged criminals.

In Kane & Lynch 2's story mode, you take the role of the psychopathic Lynch who is backed up by Kane. The online co-op mode will allow others to play as Kane.Unlike Dead Men,you will only be arm with up to two of any weapon you grab from dead enemies and cannot be swapped between players. The combat system has been modified from Dead Men.You can now take cover through pressing the A button as opposed to being automatic depending on stance. You still have regenerating health, you can get knock down while begin able to immediately get back up.Story mode is only 4-5 hours long, with repetitive gameplay, cover and shoot.Their is a chopper stage which changes things up a little bit but not that much. The A.I. moves while in cover, but they follow the same pattern every time you do that same level over.Controls feel a little clunky with the cover not working to well to your advantage. The graphics are an improvement over Dead Men.Their are times when you shoot an enemy and pixelated images will cover the brutal killings on screen. As far as the camera it seems as if someone is following Lynch, think of the movie "Cloverfield" with it's shaky camera that can be turned off if it makes you uncomfortable. The sound of the guns sound very real and voice acting is alright, some of the dialog during cutscenes could use some work. The multiplayer has Fragile Alliance which returns with two new modes Undercover cop,and Cops & Robbers. This game maybe fun for some but it's very short lived, and not worth the full price of admission.

This game has to be one of the best wild west games you'll ever play. With over 20 hours of game story missions, competitive multiplayer, and an open world you just have to explore. The graphics are great to look at,but like in GTA IV some texture smoothness can come into effect, but that's just a minor complaint. This game has almost no limit to the possibilities you can see,do,and hear when your in this world. If you missed out on GTA IV don't miss out on this one. This game has my vote for Game Of The Year.

Your hands steady as you lock onto your target, the scope trained on this unsuspecting man's temple. Your breathing slows as time seems to wait for the fatal moment when you squeeze the trigger. Your aim is sure, your resolve unwavering; the man crumples to the ground before you even hear the shot. You claim yet another clean kill without an ounce of remorse as you reload and scan for the next target. When these men overthrew the democratic government of Isla Trueno, they had no idea of the consequences. Their fate is sealed; but will your covert efforts be enough to overthrow a ruthless despot? Walk through the jungles of South America as the silent and invisible hand of death. By the time your enemies learn of your presence it's already too late ~ you are a Ghost Warrior.Sniper: Ghost Warrior takes you on a thrilling journey as you influence the tide of government from the shadows. Your enemy won't see it coming as you work with a spotter, slow your breathing and calculate for the effects of weather and distance falloff. You have an arsenal of weapons at your disposal, but usually one bullet is all you need. Watch as you take your targets out with precision in Bullet Cam mode, or engage in real-time assault sections. The action never ends with plenty of different play opportunities including sniper vs. sniper, real-time tactical assault and fixed machine gun combat scenarios.

Sniper Ghost Warrior

If you ever done sniping in games like Modern Warfare 2 or Bad Company 2 get ready to start playing those two games again. The story is FPS by numbers theirs a fictional banana republic a dictator who must be killed, and soldiers who either don't know or care their working for him. Then theirs you with your rifle and high powered scope. The actual sniping of the game is pretty good.Unlike many shooters you have to take into account wind direction, and speed, gravities effect on the bullet, and even your own heartbeat, which will be higher if you've been running around.Sniper Ghost Warrior then torpedo's this intriguing system by adding in bullet time and slow mo aiming gimmick, which represents holding your breath and concentrating real hard, but it comes off too gamy. It's rewarding to get the perfect shot off and watch the result in bullet cam sequence, but that's about the limit of it.To make things worse sometimes your forced into run and gun sequences that clearly imitate Call Of Duty but aren't up to par.The game feels sparse overall, you can't cause distractions, shootout lights or do much of anything you expect to do in first person shooters.Enemies are either deaf or dumb or can spot you quickly hundreds of feet away. The multiplayer of the game is just sniper vs sniper which is not as fun as it seems.Even tho this game is $40 save it and buy a real FPS.
What's great about it: Stealth Action,Real Sniper Mechanics,Bullet Cam Sequence
What's not so great: A.I.,Story,Bugs and Glitches,Multiplayer,Price

Xbox vs PS3

My 7 yr old son is wanting a new game system for Xmas and I can't decide between the 360Pro and the PS3. We currently have original Xbox and he likes mostly sports games and the Lego games. The PS3 looks better in my opinion (plus it has Blu Ray ability) but I wonder if the games for it are more adult-oriented. I have also heard the stories of 360's going bad or is this not so much the case with the newer ones? Anyway when I ask him which he'd prefer he always says the Xbox360 first.
If he likes to play games online I say 360.Xbox live has the biggest online gaming community of the two systems. If he likes to watch movies I say PS3.But I've heard some people have taken back their PS3's because it didn't work for some reason.360 has made corrections on the RROD(Red Ring Of Death)and if theirs a problem with your 360 they'll fix it for free. But the first choice is always a good one.
