Underrated Comedy Classic!

When people think of DeNiro and comedy, they usually think of films such as Meet the Fockers and such, but this was my DeNiro comedy growing up. It’s a great road trip/buddy comedy film, and this 4K upgrade courtesy of Shout Select is a great release, even besting the previous 1080p release they did (I believe that version is included on disc 2, unless they used the same remaster.)

Since converting to 4K, I have been steadily upgrading my horror film collection, especially in recent years due to Scream Factory’s efforts to convert their library to 4K, leading to many re-releases of new remasters. Creepshow is among these and I can’t express further how this is absolutely the best this film has EVER looked at home! I shouldn’t need another edition for a long time, if ever!

A great villain reinvigorates the franchise

Jason Momoa is a great addition to this franchise. While I think the films were growing stale after part 6, I still found them entertaining. Adding Momoa is a refreshing change, and I hope the next entry can bring the series out in style.
The 4K image is immaculate, as is the sound. This is to be expected with a 2023 release. If you’re a fan of the Best Buy Steelbooks they have released for every entry, this is a no brainer.

While the Child’s Play films vary in quality (when good, they’re highly entertaining, when bad, they can be BAD), this series thankfully falls in the former category of quality. It has strong continuity with the film series, so it pays to be familiar with them. The PQ and AQ of this set is great, but I really wish they had done more special features. That’s the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

This film may not seem like it at first, but trust me when I say it is a great film to watch with the original Candyman in a double feature. Candyman is a film that attempted to be a franchise in the 90s, though it seems you could easily ignore the other Candyman sequels if you wanted. Jordan Peele wrote a great story for this new Candyman film, and it does not disrespect the original in any way. Being a new film, Candyman in 4K is immaculate, along with the audio. Highly recommended!
