After all these years there's no point in reviewing the film--everything's been said a thousand times already, so I'll ficus on the 4K bluray itself. Wow! Warner did a truly masterful job on this 4K bluray of Kubrick's classic space movie which that ushered in the modern era of special effects. They actually wnt back to the 65mm negatives (versus the 35mm version used on the previous bluray release) and scanned the film to video in 8K resolution. After cleaning it up, removing scratches, dirt, etc. and grading the movie for HDR they downconverted it to 4K for the bluray. All that work shows. This is the ULTIMATE home video release of this film! the detail and resolution are a major step up and the improved color and depth afforded by HDR take it up another notch entirely. I cannot imagine a better looking version. Even some of the colors (like the red chairs on Space Station Five) are back to the colors I remember from seeing it at the Cinerama Dome as a child. The disc has both HDR10 and Dolby Vision so whichever your system can play, they've got you covered. For any fan of this movie with a 4K HDR system at home, getting this disc is A MUST!

The most reliable discs in their price range that I've used. I've purchased discs slightly cheaper, but gotten enough bad disc burns and had to throw enough of them away that they really weren't saving me money in the long run. Plus the waste of the extra time re-burning discs that hadn't burned right the first time proved to me even further that using a lower priced product just wasn't worth it. These discs are very reliable and are worth every penny.

I've used many different brands of blank DVD media over the years and I always come back to these. I have found cheaper discs, but the number of bad burns I wind up getting with other brands has always led me back to Verbatim. When you wind up having to re-burn discs because of dropouts on cheaper brand discs, I've found it isn't worth all the extra time, the heartbreaking discovery that something you thought was archived properly needs to be redone, of the worry that maybe the disc you've just burned isn't right, it just isn't worth taking a chance. These discs are still very affordable and they work perfectly virtually EVERY time! That's worth a few mere dollars to me.

The previous Avengers films were good, but I often felt there were so many characters vying for screen time that they couldn't develop any individual's story line very much. There was a lot of action in these movies, but not very much character development. So, I wasn't expecting to LOVE this movie as much as I did! It still had a lot of characters (even added the "Guardians of the Galaxy" characters, who I love, to the mix), but, somehow, even with all the characters, I got such a massively enjoyable kick out of this one that I went ahead and purchased it on 4K UHD bluray. The 4K presentation is very good, too. The HDR adds the extra "pop" to the picture that it should. The REC2020 color even raises the color rendition up a notch. The sound is also good (although nothing memorable actually blew me away about it). If you are a fan of "The Avengers" do not miss this film! Do keep in mind, though, that it is actually part one of the story so you will be left on a cliffhanger note at the end (this first filmed part of the story and the upcoming second film were shot back to back, which should keep the continuity between the two films absolutely spot-on). This is my very favorite Avengers movie to date and I'm looking very much forward to seeing the next one when it comes out (can't wait to see how the story concludes!). If you are a superhero movie fan--or only an Avengers fan--do not miss this film! I repeat: Do not miss this film!
Cellular biologist Lena's (Natalie Portman) husband Kane (Oscar Isaac) suddenly returns from a mysterious region known as the Shimmer after being missing for a year. When Kane falls into a coma, Lena joins a scientific expedition to the area where she and the rest of her team encounter mutated creatures and strange hybrids of plant and animal life while realizing that they themselves are being altered in bizarre ways. Based on Jeff VanderMeer's novel, this visually stunning sci-fi tale co-stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson.

This is not a film for everyone. But if you like unusual and and original films, and aren't put off by the strange and the odd, you may like this film a lot. It certainly has the most "alien" alien I've seen in any movie to date! This is not some guy in a rubber suit, but something I've never seen before on film! I do recommend seeing it in 4K with HDR (the standard definition & standard dynamic range version looks dull and washed out by comparison, but the 4K HDR version does bring the visuals to life). In pacing, I'd compare this to "The Arrival". If you found that movie boring, you might not like this film. If you liked the arrival, you will probably take a liking to this one. Honestly, this movie has the weirdest alien ever! Kudos for coming up with a being (I don't even know if the word "creature" even applies) that is so utterly original.

The Incredibles is my favorite Pixar film. It's a great action comedy, and one of the best super-hero movies ever made. The 4K bluray is the best I've ever seen this movie look. If you love the incredible, and you have a great 4K TV and bluray player, I highly recommend this title!
