Forgotten Coppola gem makes it to blu

This is one of the more forgotten gems from Francis Ford Coppola's filmography, one that was produced by George Lucas thus making it one of his forgotten gems from his period of producing titles. The bluray looks and sounds fantastic and if nothing else, we've benefited from the long wait to the format with a great release that in no way resembles an archaic master.

Always trust a Sony UHD!

I can say plenty of negative things about Sony, but their back catalogue department is THE BEST in the biz as far as remasters and restorations go, and this has benefited their back catalogue UHD releases greatly. This is another film they've upgraded that features Gary Oldman in his all to the wall 90's prime.
The UHD looks truly filmic, with just the right touch of HDR, and it has a very filmic look and feel to it that comes across completely organically. The Dolby Atmos remix will rock your home sound system, in particularly the firelight sequences benefit.

Might be the best in the series

If it's not the best in the series, it's up there, and is certainly the best action film since MAD MAX FURY ROAD. The stunts alone, with Tom Cruise being his usual crazy self, are worth price of admission.
Visually the film isn't the most colorful or dynamic as far as HDR goes, but it certainly looks stunning in it's designed state, and the open matte IMAX/ultra high rez sequences will be reference material for years to come. The Dolby Atmos soundtrack (which I also heard in theaters in a Dolby Cinema) translates very well to the home, and will have you ducking from the early firefight and enjoying a immersive experience all the way thru.

These films have always been a visual treat, with the mileage the sequels provide obviously varying upon each person. Time has actually been kind to them for me, as we trail further away from the hype train they arrived on.
After the blur ays used antiquated masters on the original bluray release, these new masters provide a wonder. They look amazing and filming with the right amount of HDR and new Atmos mixes that will give your sound system the work out it deserves. Highly recommended for fans of the genre or films!

As far as I'm concerned, writer (and in this case director as well) Taylor Sheridan can do no wrong. He's doing a great service to western fans by keeping the genre alive in this modern, neo-western kinda stories. This is a show that gets better as it goes along, and Kevin Costner is giving his all into it.
The bluray's video compression drives circles around the streaming version of the show, and the audio is also far more dynamic in it's losses surround state.

Got this cause my wife wanted to watch something a little raunchy for the Christmas season one night. It'll never be in the Criterion Collection, but it has it's moments and the cast has good chemistry. Bluray looks and sounds very solid though it's not going to pop off the screen.

Say what you want about Sony the company, but their back catalogue department is THE BEST in the biz as far as remasters and restorations go, and this has benefited their back catalogue UHD releases greatly. Air Force One is definitely one of the more fun Die Hard Clones we saw so many of in the 90's, largely due to Harrison Ford's turn as the President we wish we had and Gary Oldman in one of his great 90's villain roles.
The UHD looks truly filmic, with just the right touch of HDR, and the Dolby Atmos remix will rock your home sound system.

This set was never going to BLOW you away as it wasn't shot on 35mm film like so many shows were. However, the bitrate and color depth of bluray allow for more an uncompressed nature of the show inherent source, behind 50mbps, 3-chip video cameras.
My daughter is young and already super into it, and the packaging and everything that goes along with that is top notch.

Coming from a plasma in our bedroom, it was a tall order to find something to replace the blacks, contrast and general uniformity of that. After really digging into the settings (btw big tip: download the Roku app to get expanded settings like gamma and turning off noise reduction) this TV does have some great blacks and contrast and very solid Dolby vision HDR. The uniformity isn’t quite on par with the plasma, but the 4K Rez and blacks and HDR make up for that.
