Mary Poppins returns after 20 years to the now grown children of the Banks family. Michael lives in his childhood home and had married and had 3 children. Jane is also living with them, but tragedy strikes and his wife dies. Michael had taken a loan on the house which is now about to be repossessed, but Mary Poppins returns to save the day, and the family. Great cast and some surprise entertainment from an old cast member!

Fantastic Beasts 2

They're all back (Newt, Dumbledore, Tina, Jacob, Queenie, etc.) with Grindelwald on the loose, and some new faces as well, each having to pick sides as to what the Wizarding world should be like. Of course we have some fantastic beasts showing up to make things interesting, along with a few secrets being revealed that will propel this sequel into the obvious extension of the plot yet to come. There are lots of special effects for Harry Potter fans! If you liked the first film, you need to see this one before the next one comes out.

Wreck It Ralph 2 - The Internet Adventure
on March 9, 2019

Verified Purchase:Yes
The sequel to Wreck It Ralph (Ralph Breaks the Internet) is good fun, but not great, which is probably why it didn't win the Oscar. The film's coolness unfolds in how the Internet is portrayed in physical form in this animated feature. The story gets side tracked when Ralph and Vanellope try to manipulate their way through the maze of web sites to try to save her arcade game, and then find a better alternative for her glitchy self. The Disney Princess Room scene is especially fun.

Now working as a Lyft driver, former government agent Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) still finds time to put his expertise to use helping those who can't always help themselves. But he's about to embark on his most personal mission yet after an old friend and colleague is brutally murdered and McCall must not only track down the killer, but do it before he becomes the next target on the hit list. Pedro Pascal, Bill Pullman, and Melissa Leo also star in director Antoine Fuqua's thrill-a-minute sequel. 121 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

This time we find out more info about him and find him on a quest to avenge someone he cares deeply about. No spoiler alert here, just climb on board and take a ride with him to solve the injustice that has touched his life.

Jingle All the Way Doesn't Jangle Very Well

Not the type of Arnold Schwarzenegger movie that we are used to. In most of his films, the snarky jokes usually precede a major whopping, but here he is pitted against Sinbad as a workaholic Dad against Dad who are trying to get a certain action figure for their respective sons at the last minute on Christmas Eve. Both men make one bad decision after another in this hopeless quest. In the mayhem goodness wins out, but not from these to characters. Satire and slapstick don't pair very well in a comedy and although it was panned by most critics, it made a decent box office for 1996. It still gets play at Christmastime so watch it on TV when it airs.

Holiday Inn, directed by Mark Sandrich and starring Bring Crosby, Fred Astaire, and Marjorie Reynolds, did not have a very distinguished history on home video until this release. The laserdisc and original two-movie-on-one DVD release (paired with Going My Way), were both based on an old, grainy transfer off of a fairly clean but otherwise rather flat looking 35mm print, and had no special features whatsoever. This 2006 Special Edition DVD, by contrast, is special indeed, with a crystaline transfer off of what look like preservation-quality materials, which yield a full-screen (1.33-to-1) image infinitely sharper and cleaner than any previously seen on this movie in a home viewing format. The sound has also been significantly improved, with far less compression and a lot finer detail than one could previously hear from this movie. And that's just the beginning -- the picture also comes with a commentary track by Ken Barnes, who worked with Crosby and Astaire late in their careers and does a marvelous job (take it from someone who did a commentary track of his own for this same movie, for broadcast by WNET-Channel 13 in New York) of ranging across the music, the performers, composer Irving Berlin, and most everyone else involved in the production of Holiday Inn. He's lively, engaging, and a lot of fun to listen to, and one only wishes that Warner Bros. would have gotten Barnes or someone like him to perform a similar function on some of the Astaire and/or Berlin musicals that they got as part of Ted Turner's MGM library. There are also a pair of documentaries featuring Barnes, focusing on Crosby and Astaire and also on the strange parallels between their careers at various points; and on the history and technical development of the movie musical across the 1930's and early 1940's, which affords the producers a chance to dip into some of the highlights of the early Paramount library. The only thing that might have been added was something more on the director, Mark Sandrich, who was a major producer/director at Paramount and before that at RKO, and who had a lot to do with bringing this project off as well as it came out (and who died tragically young in 1946). The movie and all of the extras are easily accessible in a very simple two-layer menu and also offers a look at the trailer for the film. The whole package is a delight, and one can only hope the Universal will make a similarly ambitious effort with the follow-up movie to this, Blue Skies (1946).

Holiday Inn for the Holidays

Although this film is probably watched more at Christmastime, it is about a hotel that has a special theme for all the holidays of the year. With Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire expect a lot of singing and dancing 1940's style. Good "That's Entertainment" production, and excellently restored for modern video.

A Mel Brooks comedy at its most outrageous best. This time the director, actor, comedian takes on the space cowboy genre with extreme tongue in cheek. The evil empire wants more fresh air for themselves and almost succeeds in stealing it from the good guys. Guess who wins! Puns galore!!

Light Shines on the Darkest Hour

This is a dramatization of a true story concerning Winston Churchill's first month in office as prime minister and what it took for him to accomplish the saving of thousands of his troops stranded on a beach in France as Hitler's army invaded that country. Political intrigue at its best. Should be watched with Dunkirk (2017) for full effect.

Joe Johnston's Honey I Shrunk the Kids comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no subtitles, but the soundtrack is closed-captioned. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence. This Disney/Buena/Vista release is difficult to recommend to anyone other than a person on the lookout for family-friendly entertainment.

When he is rescued by a florist in NYC he breaks the Bee code by thanking her and a friendship ensues. Man From Laramie
By Deanabear
This 1955 James Stewart western was one of the first to be filmed in Cinemascope. The plot has our hero Will Lockhart (Stewart) delivering supplies from Laramie to Coronado, a small remote town in Apache territory. However, his problem isn't with the Indians, but with the son of the autocratic owner of a large ranch outside of town. Will's cavalry brother had been killed in battle, and so he is quietly searching for someone who is selling repeating rifles to the Apaches. During his search a witness is found dead and Will is accused of it as well as stealing by the rancher's son. Things come to a head between the two in a fight for justice. Good Oater!!

The Desperadoes
April 5, 2020
The second film on this DVD is a 1943 Technicolor western stars Randolph Scott who is as a sheriff of a small town and is trying to find out who robbed the bank not knowing that it was an inside job. Cheyenne (Glenn Ford) rides into town having arrived too late to help rob the bank. He's in love with the saloon owner and gets a job breaking broncos at a ranch. The sheriff knows Cheyenne as a friend, but another bank robbery done as a set up to frame Cheyenne and his sidekick to hang. Steve busts him out and is put into jail himself, but is freed by Cheyenne. The two of them than set out to settle the score. An early Glenn Ford western with the role of an anti-hero. An oldie but a goodie.

The essentials to get it all done. Office Home & Student is for students and families who want classic Office apps including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for Windows 10. A one-time purchase installed on one Windows 10 PC or Mac for use at home or school.

Hi, I recently purchased the latest iPad (7th generation) and need to use word. I noticed that with the word available on the App Store I have to pay a monthly fee. If I made this one time purchase would it work on my iPad? Thanks

I have the Office Home & Student version, which says it is good for 1 PC or 1 Mac and the system requirements, besides Windows 10 for PCs, also says or macOS. If your iPad has the macOS on it, then yes! Ask the store tech guy for a second opinion or go to the Microsoft web site to confirm before you buy.
