My preferred iPad keyboard solution

First I want to point out that something like a keyboard accessory for a tablet is a highly subjective device. It’s really based on preference. This review is based on my preferences, so your mileage may vary.
When I bought my iPad Pro earlier in 2019, I decided to try and use the onboard keyboard. My usage includes writing, spreadsheets, coding, note-taking occasionally, messaging. So a keyboard is essential for me. The onboard keyboard quickly didn’t measure up for me, so I decided to try a detached Bluetooth keyboard. I picked up the very good Logitech K811 keyboard, super responsive, great keys, backlit and Bluetooth. Very nice. For a while it was nice, and I could just stow it when not using it. It was alright. But...I got tired of having another accessory to carry. The integration feature became a much wanted thing. So I started looking at keyboard case options. Of course the very svelt apple keyboard case solution was an option, looks great, has the smart connector, but expensive for not having much protection and no backlighting, and the keys are ok, but not great. So I kept looking.
Zagg produces some very nice options, backlit, and detachable keyboard when desired. But I wasn’t enameled with the casing around the iPad itself, the speakers have diversion channels that I’m skeptical of, and the back easel part of the case is really stiff, a good thing, but also feels sort of flimsy to me. So I was worried about breaks. But the price is killer, it’s a great price point. So overall, briefly testing it, the keys were comfortable, and the lighting options were great, but in the end I didn’t stop there.
I considered the Brydge keyboard option, but I didn’t feel it offered enough protection for my taste.
Then I tried this keyboard case. I knew from K811 that the keyboard on this case would be excellent, in Logitech fashion. I have not been disappointed. The back lighting is great, the case provides protection enough, but not too overbearing, the pencil area is open for charging, with the closure flap either protecting it in the charging position, or providing a loop for you to store the pencil if you don’t want it to be trickle charging from the iPad all the time. The color is happily neutral for me, and is a great palette for stickers if that is something you enjoy doing. It hold the iPad in a great position to type on your lap, or just to watch videos with. It charges via USB-C, so it will use your iPad charger. But the charge has been phenomenal so far. I topped it off at the beginning, and haven’t need to charge since.
Overall, this was the end of my journey. I am happy with this Logitech solution, it provides the sweet spot for my keyboarding needs.
I highly recommend it.

Complete the Infinity Saga

I saw that the 4K version of The Incredible Hulk was on sale. I watched it many years ago and decided it would be nice to complete the Marvel collection up to the point. I’m glad I did. The 4K version is really good. And the Edward Norton Hulk is admirable. I also understand that Marvel considers this movie canon, so it really does fill in the Avengers collection. Worth it!

Best writing experience on the iPad Pro

So I waited to get an Apple Pencil for some time after I bought the iPad Pro because I didn’t feel I really needed it. I don’t draw much, I like typing notes, and signing PDFs can be done easily enough with a finger. There were a few apps like coloring apps where it would be nice, but not necessary.
I decided to finally get one because I had some rewards and wanted to see if it was worth the money. I was so wrong about not wanting one. This thing is the best stylus experience on the Pro. It is super responsive, feels natural, and it is so nice to have a way to select things when I have the iPad with the attached keyboard on.
I highly recommend one if you like to be able to select and color and write on the iPad with precision and styled nuance.

If you are fortunate enough to have either the classic NES, the classic SNES, or both, these are a fantastic accessory. In particular the NES controller cable is pretty short. Since we all have much bigger TVs than I did when I had the original NES, it makes more sense to sit farther back. This extension gives you that ability. And they are very reasonably priced.

Good iteration on a solid printer line

A way to charge faster but pricey

I have a Kindle Voyage, a gen 1 Kindle Oasis, and now this 11th gen Paperwhite. Out of the three I’m liking this one the best. True that much of the improvements to this device came to the Oasis gen 2, but the asymmetric back of the oasis never really impressed me, the aluminum back is slick, and it just didn’t wow me for the $250+ price. This Paperwhite took all of the best features that came to the Oasis gen 2 and added wireless charging, a USB C port, and a screen size that is almost as large, and is less than $200. I’m sold. It’s a great reader! Fits well in the hand, has a great light, has the blue light feature for eye strain relief. It’s really my sweet spot.

Hi Tristan. I would say the biggest differences for me between this and Voyage are the screen and the speed. The screen on this is bigger, the light is more balanced and removing blue light is a game changer. The speed is night and day. Page turns, menus, downloads, power cycling. All much smoother and faster. This is slightly larger in overall dimensions compared to the Voyage, but it isn’t hard to hold or heavy. I also mentioned in the review that the Oasis form factor was not my favorite. This is similar to the Voyage, and why I kept the Voyage befor. So if you prefer the symmetric slab of the Voyage, this Paperwhite gives you essentially the Oasis experience in a slightly larger Voyage form factor. It’s definitely a great upgrade!

Will this stand support LG OLED G1 tv?
I believe this is rated for up to 60 lbs. my 65” G1 is roughly 64 lbs. I would not recommend a G1 larger than 55” because the manufacturer will not likely honor the warranty if something is installed on it greater than that. I have a 42” C2 on it however and it’s great. The base is really heavy. I used the Kanto line than BB sells for my 65” G2. Works great also and is rated for up to an 80”.

4 questions I love coffee and work at a coffee shop and have been looking for a good grinder 1.is this a burr grinder or blades? 2.how good does it grind for cold brew? 3.how good does it grind for a syphon or French press or pour over?
1. This is a burr grinder. Very powerful also.
2. I’m not sure how you brew for cold brew, but the grain size adjustment has a huge range, and that is marked on the grinder in increments also for French Press, percolate, drip, and espresso. Each of those marked ranges have many steps to fine tune the grain size.
3. I have a French Press and have used the French Press range on the grinder many times, dialing it in each time. I would say the middle to largest grain size in that French Press range is the best. If you get closer to the percolate range this thing is powerful enough to give you finer grains and you will get some pass through on your mesh in the French Press.
