So, I've not seen a John Wick movie yet, as of this writing. But this was ever so tempting to watch when it came out. Thankfully, the home premiere stream was rather solid, but knew I had to get the disc (more on that later). Which brings me to having watched this 4k disc last night, and oooooh man did it excel! Kind of light on the extras, but I'm looking forward to checking them out (including commentary!)!
Also, I have a message (request) for Best Buy... I've been hearing word circulating that in store purchases of physical movie media is going away. Should this be for real, then as a long-time customer who has bought so many movie releases over the years, I must ask that you (Best Buy) please reconsider. I would prefer to keep buying movies in store, and I am not alone in this sentiment.

Indy's 4k Steelbook Set - Done well, but not great

Okay... The four stars comes from the fact the steelbook set looks better than the standard 4k release (speaking of the cases), and the 4k discs themselves are premium quality - as in audio and video are stellar.
I do have a few gripes about this though. 1. I echo sentiments that the outer packaging sleeve just straight sucks. 2. It would've been nice if a few newer extras were added, but what's there is already solid. 3. It's nice to have the digital copies, but could we already have the capability to use Movies Anywhere?!
Those gripes are pointed at the studio, who put this all together. Once again, I'm grateful the movies look and sound superb now. But while I like the actual steelbooks themselves, I'm just a little curious over the lack of effort. Either way, if you're a fan like I am, definitely pick this set up. It's tempting though to want to display the cases another way (considering going into arts and crafts mode).
Tim Burton's wildly imaginative drama stars Albert Finney as Edward Bloom, a dying eccentric known for spinning larger-than-life tales of his exploits as a young man. When his estranged son (Billy Crudup) returns home to see him, Bloom regales him with a host of outlandish stories, seen in flashbacks, that are so utterly unbelievable that they may just be true. With Jessica Lange, Alison Lohman, Helena Bonham Carter, Danny DeVito, and, as Finney's younger self, Ewan McGregor. 125 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

I had the original DVD for years, but skipped on blu-ray due to lackluster carry-over. This remedies both items where the 4k is now superb, and all extras are in the set. Oh, and I have the blu-ray now too!
It also helps this is among Tim Burton's greatest, even if it's more toned down in quirks, compared to his other outings. Absolutely recommending this one without hesitation!

A steelbook that very well outdoes the first movie

Now here is a package worthy of attention... Both versions get equal treatment in both 2k and 4k - and one disc per version at that. It's even more noteworthy that the steelbook further accentuates the details on the discs themselves. If you think the original packaging is fine, then save a few bucks. However, this is another reason steelbooks are worthy - They really do help add character to your physical library.

The first Transformers has been a more positive staple in Michael Bay's pantheon of movies. Thankfully, the visuals are not skipped on the blu ray, and less the 4k either. If your system needs a good workout, here you go!

I finally upgraded to the blu-ray/4k pack from the DVD collector's edition with a similar appearing packing. I'm very pleased with how the audio on the 4k disc is - The final bridge battle will mess your ears up if not your speakers.
Even then, if there is a top 5 list of Spielberg movies to have, this would be in the top three. And this set is no slouch at all.
This set contains all three films from the Wachowski Siblings' The Matrix franchise. In The Matrix, a computer programmer discovers he is the only one able to save mankind from the machines; in The Matrix Reloaded, Neo must protect the Resistance from a rapidly approaching fate; in The Matrix Revolutions, Neo fights to end the war once and for all as the Machines locate the human city of Zion.

I have to say, I'm glad I have a more consistent set for the Matrix movies. I've had varying ways of having the movies over the years - first having the OG DVD and the others on DVD, then just two movies on blu-ray, and Animatrix on the side (still DVD). Thankfully, I now have this set for all three on blu-ray (with Atmos tracks FINALLY), and I'm looking forward to seeing these in 4k later on. This is a good looking package, complete with digital copies, and all extras from before. I have maybe a couple tiny gripes (including lack of Animatrix); But really though, this box set is going to be here with me for a long time!

This is in my top ten movies of all time - historically #2. The blu-ray release has been one of might, and a go-to for giving your system a workout. Now the new 4k release takes it a step further from what I'm able to see (disclaimer, I've been able to view the 4k disc through my Xbox Series X but through a 1080p projector). But now having a more enveloping sound mix, this is indeed an edition to own.
This box set serves up the first four Indiana Jones films, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, as well as a wealth of behind-the-scenes and making of footage for each of them.

Here be a set worthy of a blu-ray upgrade. Did you like the DVD set prior? This goes above and beyond that. The image retains the classic film integrity, yet still benefits from the HD master. As for the audio... It may be 5.1, but oh is it a stellar mix - Whether you go for the whip cracks, gun shots, or John Williams' iconic music. The DVD set extras carry over plus other goodies there too. All in all, despite your preferences of which one is best or worst, you will have fun with this set!

Can you hook up a passive subwoofer up to this receiver?
You're going to need to get a powered sub and hook it up with an RCA patch cable (they make them specifically for subs) but an RCA audio cable in general works too.
