Surprisingly good sound for a small unit

I've listened to quite a few soundbars over the years and this one is surprisingly good for how small it is. I was quite sure that I would need to also buy the subwoofer but I thought I'd give this a try alone first and the bass is quite good even without the sub. I'm sure I'll get it at some point, but you don't need it right away. I was only going to give it a 4 star rating is because the Subtitles function is a bit wonky with this new system and/or remote (on my old Roku remote and device it still works fine), and the new layout of the remote (having the OK button in the middle of the arrows) takes a bit of getting used to...but that's on me, I guess, not the remote. Ended up giving it a 5 because this new remote seems faster in response to your commands to pause, replay, etc. And I must commend Roku for including the optic sound cable because my TV does not have the required HDMI-specific capability for sound.

This little speaker sounds great for its size, but I was very disappointed that a company so focused on quality and customer experience like Bose would be so cheap as to not include the tiny fifty-cent charger that you plug the USB cord into! C'mon, Bose, this thing ain't cheap!

I bought this washer on sale and have been rather disappointed with this machine and it's matched dryer because bother are quite loud. We have LGs in our other home and they are unbelievably quiet. These are almost as loud as the old top loading machine that I replaced.

Fan of these Brother MFCs

I've owned several Brother MFC units for many years and they've all performed quite well. I keep buying them mainly for the scanning software that comes with them because I'm used to it and because I like being able to scan to PDF with multiple pages, etc. I'm sure others can do that as well but I'm just used to Brother now. Seems to do everything I need quite well except for printing photos, it's only average at that but I don't do that very often. My biggest complaint is that it runs out of ink quite quickly, although Brother ink is less expensive than most others. The process to set up wifi printing is kind of archaic, too.

I bought into the Arlo system a few years ago and, although they work just fine, I feel like I've spent too much now to change to a new, less expensive system. These babies are waaaay overpriced for their quality. Not especially motion-sensitive (Ring doorbell cam is way more sensitive) and I've rarely ever gotten the speaker to work on-command when I need it. Seems like the quality of motion sensitivity varies quite a bit from cam to cam, some are more sensitive than others of the same model and year. Also, make sure you keep your cam batteries topped off to at least 30% because they drop FAST after they get below that.

I bought this Samsung because it was advertised for a really good price at the time and it looked good in-store. When I got everything set up at home, however, the picture quality during sporting events just wasn't that great. It just couldn't keep up with the speed of the ball, etc. Probably related is that it couldn't hold channels well while I am operating off of an antenna (not cable) and the picture became easily and often pixelated I returned it and went to a Sony with a stronger processor and better picture. Sorry, Samsung, I thought I'd at least give you a try!

Can the subwoofer operate properly if it is laid on its side?
I'm guessing you want to lay it flat on the wide side and, yes, I THINK it would work, although I've never tried when I had mine. If it matters to you, the woof will be shooting straight up into the air and the shiny, "decorative" side will be facing down. Not sure if the internal mechanics of the speaker are designed to operate that way. One potential problem for sure would be vibration so I'd recommend putting those small rubber nubs (Home Depot, Lowes) on the side you lay it on.
