Wow! I can’t believe I waited this long to play this game. First off, I’m a sucker for the 1930’s - 1950’s aesthetic, so I knew I’d enjoy this game just for that but I didn’t expect to be given such a well told story. It almost felt like a Rockstar game. I enjoyed how linear this game was, every cutscene had my full attention. I only had a couple of bugs playing on the Series X. I only wish the game was enhanced for it! Anyways, this game was awesome and WELL worth the 14.99 I payed for it.

Experience survival horror like never before in Resident Evil Village. Elevate each desperate fight to survive by showcasing the most realistic and terrifying graphics to date. The all-new title is the eighth major installment in the storied Resident Evil franchise, which established the survival horror genre nearly 25 years ago. The title is currently in development using Capcom~s proprietary RE Engine, used to create vivid gameplay experiences in hit titles such as Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Devil May Cry 5. With hyper-detailed graphics, intense first-person action and masterful storytelling, the terror has never felt more realistic and inescapable. Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again. Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from the Resident Evil series, is reacquainted with the couple and horribly disrupts their life, spiraling Ethan into chaos. A devastated Ethan finds himself in a remote snow-capped village seeking answers after being thrown into an entirely new nightmare.

Re7 > RE8 > Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash

Loved the atmosphere but definitely not as scary as RE7. Once again the voice acting and dialogue of Ethan is abysmal and that also goes for Heisenberg. By the way why on earth would you name a character Heisenberg after Breaking Bad used the same name? I feel like the game was just a tad bit too long and slowly got more and more ridiculous near the end. The Heisenberg fight was hilariously over the top. Every boss fight goes like this, run away turn super slowly (I even played at 9 sensitivity and no aim acceleration and it was still too slow) shoot and avoid attack and then repeat. You can’t really strafe all the fast so since it’s a first person game you don’t really get to enjoy the enemies animations because your so busy with your back to them. All in all it was a decent time for 20 dollars and hey I got a mediocre looking steelbook that I’ll never use to go along with it!

Some of the worst voice acting I’ve ever heard in a game.
Every single potential character you can recruit looks like E.T.
Every single mission is drive here, get to this area, hack this terminal and then escape to safety. OCCASIONALLY they’ll be a somewhat cool mission like the one with the house beneath the house.
Besides missions that have you go inside buildings there’s no other structures you can enter. All clothes shops are neutered down to a kiosk with barley any variation to the clothes.
The driving is atrocious. The cars feel light and heavy and the same time.
Roads are too narrow and the vehicles are super slow (probably because the roads are narrow but STILL)
They’ve actually removed hacking features from the previous games.
Ray tracing mode looks good but the fps is supposedly at 30 but does NOT feel/look like it. I mean come on, on SX I’m sure it could handle more fps.
… and the list goes on and on.
Play the first one (my favorite of the trilogy) and MAYYYBE if you’re really bored play the second but stop there. Lol

Store your Resident Evil Village disc in this SteelBook case. The front and back feature separate metal pieces for exceptional durability, and the detailed game-inspired interior and exterior graphics add flair to your media collection. This SteelBook case has a plastic core to keep a single CD or DVD secure.

First off, this was a “free gift” for ordering RE8. Anyways, I’ve never been a fan of steelbooks and I feel they just add to the craze of “I gotta hurry up and buy this new steelbook because they’ll sell out soon” or the “it’ll be worth money one day”. I’m honestly surprised that when it arrived it didn’t come mangled because both USPS and UPS like to set heavier objects on top of your flimsy game cases that like to poke, prod and smash them. After opening the package they somehow managed to make the actual steelbook more bland and boring than the pictures for it. I don’t know how ANYONE would willingly purchase this for $19.99 on its own.

Good but not great. When I played it there was quite a few bugs and certain choices the devs made that felt really old and outdated. It’s trying hard to be like a slew of games but doesn’t really excel at any of them (Last of Us, State of Decay and even a sprinkle of Red Dead).

Haven’t seen this one since I was little so I decided to pick it up and rewatch it. Unlike Jingle all the Way this one wasn’t super corny and some parts still made me laugh. Now the sequel, that one is an abomination against humanity. We don’t speak of that one.

Bought this for my little sister whom is obsessed with Skyrim. So I figured she would love this one, I don’t know if it’s the fact I adore this game or what but she thought it’s was “meh”. Besides that this is one of my favorite games, the story the characters the locations the music, ughh writing this makes me want to go play it. Later.
Ps. Winds howling
