Lionsgate's Hell or High Water 4K Steelbook

This was a great film with a great cast. I kept meaning to buy this movie to check it out but I either forgot or never got around to it. Since it was announced that Lionsgate was doing a steelbook for it, I just thought I'd wait on the release of the steelbook. Lionsgate keeps killing it with their steelbooks and I've been purchasing almost all of them.

I bought this when the Black Friday sales were going on and were surprised to get this with a slipcover. This is definitely worth the upgrade to 4K if you have the blu-ray version. This film does show its age somewhat with some unimpressive CGI but it is a great film with lots of great action, vampire lore, and an interesting storyline. This film doesn't get the appreciation that it should because without this film being made then there would be no Marvel or Superhero/Comic Book films being made today. It was the beginning of the Comic Book Heroes! I hope that we get the other two on 4K, too!!

It's one of the most intense war films ever. The bomb defusing scene was very suspenseful. Kathryn Bigelow, the director, has done some of the most amazing directing in this movie. The cast is on point. Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie are awesome in the movie. Would recommend seeing this movie. And again, Lionsgate will always have some of the best steelbooks! They deliver some of the most amazing artwork outside of premium steelbooks!!

While I have been waiting on a blu-ray release of The Skulls, this is not at all what I was expecting. First off there are absolutely no special features included in this release. Second, all of the three films share a single BD-50 disc. As for the video and audio quality: the video quality is generally poor and audio quality are generally acceptable. This three-film release really disappoints. The films are not popular movies but they deserve better than this. Fans just wanting to watch these films in something resembling HD won't be set back too much by buying this set, but those who want more will want to stay away from this set.

La La Land 4K Steelbook

La La Land is such a beautiful film. This is what filmmaking is. This embodies filmmaking in its power to influence its audience and play with their emotions. I also relate to Emma Stone's character so much in this movie. The cinematography is perfect. Everything is perfect. A true masterpiece.
This is truly a love story from the director, Damien Chazelle, to Old Hollywood musicals. He once said that he fell in love with movies such as "Singing in the Rain, and the classics that starred Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire while he was a student of art film history at Harvard.
Story: 4/5
The steelbook itself is truly a piece of work, I mean it is gorgeous! The purples and pinks mesh together in a way that I've not seen before. The only problem that I have is that my slip for the steelbook does not line up due to the slip being warped. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but this is why I am not giving the steelbook a 5-star rating.

Ghostbusters 4K: An Improvement, Still Not Perfect

This film was mastered for 4K/Blu-ray is definitely a step up from the standard blu-ray, with far less grain, and the color extension is good when viewed on our 55-inch Samsung 4K TV. Sound is good in DTS Master 5.1. However, there is still a significant amount of film grain, and the picture could be a tad sharper, but that being said, it is a film from the early ‘80s so there is a dramatic improvement. Though, one has to wonder why films from the ’80s could not have been better when they view older movies on blu-ray, such as "Ten Commandments”, “Hello Dolly,” and “Goonies”, and why they are so much better than this. Overall, it is a good upgrade!!

Requiem... Is Not For Everyone

I bought this for my best friend during the 2021's Black Friday sales for Christmas. She asked me to give it 5 stars because she loved it!!
That being said, I have seen this movie years ago and was not a fan of it. Do I think it is a great film? Yes, but it deals in a subject that is a little too close to home for me. I lost a cousin to drug addiction.
So, in the end, all that matters is that me, is that my friend loves it and truly enjoys it and she does therefore the reason I gave it five stars!! I hope everyone has a safe and joyful New Years!!

Snake Eyes was an okay film overall, not great, but a decent film. It was an action-packed film. It definitely leaves itself open for another movie to the franchise. I did enjoy the actors as their characters (Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Scarlet, and Baroness). Am I looking forward to a sequel? Maybe, but needs to be better than this one! The first two G.I. Joe films were okay, a lot better than this one, but I enjoyed them for what they are. The main thing that I did not like about this film is that this "prequel" did not align up to the GI Joe films, so it was hard to really appreciate it, but I like it for the action film that it is!
