Takashi Miike is a cinematic poet and it shows epically in First Love. This is one of my many favorite films from him and I’m so happy I can finally own it on a Blu-Ray and DVD! Those Gangsters pack a punch of style and dark humor under Miike’s direction

Great Remasters

I'm a huge fan of 80's films and I'm so glad they decided to remaster these blu-ray films. There is no excuse when a company can remaster 'The Wizard of Oz' and it look flawless, but an 80's flick still looks like an early dvd release. These films aren't stunning to look at, but they are a great improvement over the last blu ray releases with no dirt or specs present. I'm very happy they released this with the quality it's represented in. I Highly Recommended these classic entertaining movies at this great price.

Better than I expected

Surprisingly well done and effective, Crazies is as much a conspiracy story as a horror story. There is plenty of blood and grisly gruesomeness, but they actually have a plausible reason, rather than simply because it's a horror film. The characters and script are believable, and you could see such a scenario unfolding. Everyone is fine and does a credible job with their character, not to mention that the lovely Radha Mitchell is an extra treat to watch. Sure, there are a few inconsistencies and slightly implausible issues, but they are minor and more than made up for by the story, pacing, and performances. Certainly worth checking out.

Bring back lots of memories

Red Dawn is one of my favorite movies of the 80s. Watching it today, it still holds up pretty well despite a couple of rough edges. It features a all-star cast with Swayze, Sheen, Michael-Hall as well as Powers Boothe in their heyday. I remember seeing Red Dawn in the 80s and one of the reviews stated that the story was based on a fantasy of Russian and Cuban soldiers invading the United States. Looking at the current times, that story isn't so far-fetched now especially considering the decadent state of Washington and the horrible mess that is the White House.
5* brought back some fantastic 80s memories and made me miss Patrick Swayze and Powers Boothe.
