An appreciable upgrade

There's nothing wrong with the included bluray of BHD: it's looks and sounds very, very good in 1080p.
However, in 4K, there's an added dimension to an already dense picture. The uptick in detail and resolution, obviously, contribute, but the HDR really makes it stand out from the picture quality of last generation's technology. No more grey-ish blacks in the night scenes. Now the muzzle flashes and explosions light up the room.
Do yourself a favor, get an OLED 4K tv and Black Hawk Down to really see it like it should be seen.

There are tones of reports out there of third party Switch charges bricking consoles. No one can seem to figure exactly why and Nintendo doesn't have any interest in providing accessory manufacturers with the exact specs to remedy the issue, so... there's this: a $30 power cord for the Switch dock. Yep, $30. It's a frustrating pill to swallow, but beats unplugging and re-plugging every time you want to move your docked Switch to another tv/room.

My favorite Horror film in 4K

I'm biased. I'll admit that right away. The Shining is easily my favorite horror film. So, if you don't like the movie, skip this review. I love The Shining and watching this UHD presentation, with all of it's new details and improved contrast, is like seeing it for the first time, again.
The blacks are deep and colors pop making it look like Kubrick shot this last year, not back '79/'80. The image is so crisp and vibrant that I had to restart it right after the credits just to make sure I'd seen what I remembered.
For a fan, this required viewing. If you haven't jumped on the UHD bandwagon, yet, buy the 4k player and tv, OLED if possible, and get a copy of The Shining.

I'm not interested in messing with charcoal, propane tanks or standing out in the cold, when I want a good, home cooked steak. So, when I saw this all-in-one, I knew I needed it.
There's next to no assembly, the cooking surfaces are dishwasher safe and almost any question about what temp or for how long the cooking should take are answered in the included book. The food tastes just like you'd expect and in half the time, most cases.
My only caveat, and it's a small one, is that sometimes, perhaps because I tried to cook too much burger or perhaps the fat ratio was high, the grill would emit some smoke. Other than that, I'm extremely pleased and would recommend this Ninja product to anyone/everyone like minded.

Phantom Thread isn't a flashy or fast paced spectacle, but a rare, well-made and very welcome character study in this day and age of billion dollar Marvel franchises. After There Will Be Blood, I didn't think PT and Daniel Day could capture lightning in a bottle again, but I was certainly wrong.
It's not everyone's cup of tea, I'm sure. Some may be put off by the near perfect script and subtle, nuanced performances. Just accept the lack of car chases or the fact that no one will save the world and check out, what I consider, the year's best picture.

I have the 2017 model of LG's line of OLED 4Ks, too, so I was more than excited to get this one. As far as I can tell and have tested, this improves on all of the '17 models features and then some. The quality for cost ratio, especially for what Best Buy was selling it for at the time, is unprecedented imho. I would recommend this tv to any/everyone without question or caveat.

After hoping Sony would do something special with Fright Night, I was pleasantly surprised by the image quality of this release. It looks really good, but not great. The special features are about as comprehensive as could be, as far as I'm aware, with retrospectives being the highlights. If you're a fan, don't hesitate to grab this as it's probably as good as we'll get.

I'm quite impressed by this 4k, considering that Pet Sematary was never really a "looker". Compared to bluray, it's almost like watching the film for the first time. I wish there were more special features, especially the feature length making of doc that came out a few years ago, but overall, a great package for fans of King and this great adaptation.

I needed some additional storage for my recently acquired Series X and landed on this particular external drive. Partially because it's supposedly a Black quality drive and came with 2 months of GamePass.
I haven't and couldn't find anything concrete on specs and was a little disappointed when it came to the transfer speeds. I know it's not a SSD, but it copied files only slightly faster than an older 3.5" 5400 rpm HDD I was already using.
On the plus side, this external is very small, light and requires no external power source. I've always had good luck with WD, even though Seagate has comparable drives for slightly less. Time will tell if this holds up. Fingers crossed.
And, although it's "branded" as Xbox, this could just as easily be used with a PlayStation or PC.
