Simulation to a fault

The medieval world is rather engaging and you do feel like you're existing in that time and place, despite some jank. I understand the developer's intentions, however sometimes too much "realism" doesn't always make for an enjoyable experience. The game has improved substantially since it's initial release, especially with little QoL features, but the performance, even on a One X, still leaves a lot to be desired. There's fun to be had, if you can overlook the many issues.

Deep Rising won't make any "best of" lists, but is still a fun and over-the-top action/horror/thriller from the director of the 99' version of The Mummy (which I've always loved). It's a B movie classic with fun characters, a crazy monster and plenty of gore. If that sounds good to you, grab this release.

I am an unabashed fan of the 1990 remake of NotLD. It was my first introduction to the Living Dead films and I feel it still holds up nearly 30 years on. This release has great video, audio and supplements, but it still feels "no frills" and just like another catalog release. Wish that Shout! could take a whack at it and give this underappreciated cult classic the treatment it's fans deserve.

Get ready for a classic with Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition for Xbox One. The co-operative mode lets you clear stages with another player, or you can use the single-player mode to work your way through the Bomberman universe as you clear stages and prep timebombs. Go multiplayer in the Grand Prix mode as you play with two teammates against another team in Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition.

Better than some B-man games, but lacking when compared to older titles as all that's really been added is a slightly wacky art style and online multiplayer, which I'm not a fan of. After the story is over, it doesn't feel like there's much reason to keep playing.

This is a very contentious 4K release. The image is not representative of what the film has always looked like. It's been scrubbed clean of grain and appears as if it were shot on modern video. BUT, the detail and clarity is quite impressive. It looks like a film that was made last year: shot on 8K, finished on 4K and released as such. I'm not sure where I stand, as the revisionism is not what I prefer, but the image is nonetheless stellar. I recommend, but barely.

I needed some additional storage for my recently acquired Series X and landed on this particular external drive. Partially because it's supposedly a Black quality drive and came with 2 months of GamePass.
I haven't and couldn't find anything concrete on specs and was a little disappointed when it came to the transfer speeds. I know it's not a SSD, but it copied files only slightly faster than an older 3.5" 5400 rpm HDD I was already using.
On the plus side, this external is very small, light and requires no external power source. I've always had good luck with WD, even though Seagate has comparable drives for slightly less. Time will tell if this holds up. Fingers crossed.
And, although it's "branded" as Xbox, this could just as easily be used with a PlayStation or PC.
