Movies from the 80's often look drab and dry. Blu-ray does them better, but only 4k gives 80's movies that feeling that you are right there and as if time stood still. You forget how these movies are while you watch in 4k, because everything looks pristine. The shots from 1955 look amazing to the point that you could picture yourself in the 50's, and the cars looked clean.

I wanted a 9900X, but it just happened to be in stock after i bought this. No problem, as the price was much better and it far surpassed what i had.
It does run hot and you have to did in the BIOS to cool it down. The speed is shocking, but i mainly got it for the pcie 4/5.0. It does make difference on a gpu like the RTX 4080. An hour and a half 720p video now renders in 7 minutes. Video games look cleaner and run smoother. All textures are clear and you can even read labels on boxes!
I played a few games that never gave me issues on the last setup, but they look so much more shockingly better with stronger color info, detail and cleaness. Watching video and films reveals more detail and the full limits of video quality.
I should done it earlier, but I did try intel, but the 14900k would never boot up. AMD has AVX512, while intel does not. Im still shocjed that it out performs my previous intel 12-core.

CpU or the motherboard?

I will give this one star, even though it could be as high as 5 - but either the cpu or the board did not work. looking at news lately, it seems to be the cpu and not the boards. I never got this working, so i don't know what it was like, but i do have Gigabyte MB's so I know about the quality ans stability of them, which would have been great - if working.
Intel has has issues with their CPU's for these, overpowering them causing them to under perform or not even work. so I gave up on the platform after having two CPU's and 3 motherboards.

The case is better than the picture quality

I first had this on a bootleg 4K and I thought that it was too dark and the sound was muffled, but I thought it was bootleg, so you get what you pay for! Then I saw this bargain in 4K - and I largely got more of the same!
The picture is on the dark side - and I have a very bright 4K TV, although it DOES help mitigate some short comings. The sound on the other hand - is muffled and not of a high-end or even digital sound. The sound seems like a mistake. I did not test the sound of the blu-ray, only the 4K. Usually it does not matter, but Disney are known for making the worst home video media - especially when it comes to sound.
So, this is not what I would call definitive as it could get much better. I just figured I'd get the 4K since I only got the blu-ray of Black Panther when I could have gotten the 4k. ah well.

When i got this, the first thing that hit me was that this item lacked the heatsink/sticker as seen in the pic. That actually hurts cooling. Either that, or mine was left off by mistake!
I first installed this in an external USB 3.2 case in order to copy a 1TB drive that was reaching it's limits. I do not have PCIE 4. so the only PCIE 4.0 functionality that I was getting was coming from this USB 3.2 connection. As I was copying the files, this thing did not heat up - but it got HOT to the touch! Not very warm - but HOT! CrystalDisk showed a temp of 71 degrees and in the red.
Only after I was done copying, did I place it in a spot on an expansion card with a heatsink, operating on PCIE 3.0, did the temps go down to 31 degrees. I cannot tell what the temps would look like with a heatsink in PCIE 4.0 mode, but heat is why I really stayed away from any drive faster than PCIE 3.0.
In PCIE 3.0 and cooled, it works quickly and without issues. When hooked up to the USB enclosure, the software did not recognize it as it's drive. Only when hooked up to the motherboard was it recognized as it's drive and it quickly updated the firmware - quicker than any other brand that I am aware of.
At the time when I got it, it was the least expensive, name brand, 2TB drive that I could find, so that made it worthwhile. I originally went with a different brand, but it's lifespan was less than half of this one. I would recommend.

I didnt really need to upgrade, but i wanted at least pcie 4.0 - just because. I already jave an X299X system with 12 real cores, so I did not NEED to upgrade, provided that this was an upgrade.
I tried 2 cpus, 2 different motherboards - and this thing would not boot up, and only one motherboard even powered on! I tried everything and I was about to try another MB, when I just got fed up and gave up. If. I went through 2 of these cpus and 3 MB's, would another make a difference? Why should I have to keep doing this? It never worked.
I give it a 1 since this is the first ever architecture thay never worked for me and i have been building since the late 90's. The good part is, i put my old system back together - I guess when better contact - and it works even better than before, so i now get that extra boost i wanted. Now i dont miss not havimg this 13900k work.

One of the forgotten, low key Blaxploitation film

Well, I first saw pieces of this film years ago on TBS, but I was either watching something else at the time or the ads made me forget to come back to it. I recall thinking that I never saw this one with Bernie Casey and PAMELA Grier before! Since those years (I am sure well over ten), I have not seen anything from this film since.
I could not find a download, stream or disc! Combine that with the oh so common movies name, that further complicated things. I was also waiting for a blu-ray to come out. Once I looked into it some more, along with other blaxploitation titles like "Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold" being available only on Warner burned on demand DVD, I figured I would bite the bullet and get this DVD, since a BD seems to be out of the question.
SO I get it and open to find that it is a burned DVD with fingerprints all over it. It did appear to have been factory sealed. The first thing I wanted to check for was the quality of the picture. Everything in my chain is 4K, and the picture quality was not bad. It was strong and colorful. It had strong enough detail to almost not make you care if a BD never came out.
The sound was basic and it would have been better if it would have been in mono, since center channel speakers sound better. it was clear.
This film was pretty good. If you thought that Pam Grier got naked in her other films - this was takes the cake! My lord! This makes me want to go visit the 74 year old right now to find out what she has left! Man, people sure got totally nude in those 70's films!
I hate to give away the layout of the film and I like to focus on the quality. Since you are unlikely to find this on BD of download, or bootleg, or anything else - you might as well get it on DVD. I personally don't like adding any new DVD's to my collection, as I prefer BD or 4K only, but I had no choice. At least Warner did not give Mill Creek type of poor quality on the disc, so that is positive.

Just what I needed!

Well, I got lucky as I stumbled upon these at the right time! I was not really looking for them, but I ended up with them. I have had my eye on these for years, but I found something else instead.
Compared to my other high-end speakers - which was just fine, these play slightly louder (only one decibel louder) and sound larger - almost like floor standers. At first, I did not like the sound because they sounded muddy, but after they opened up, THEN I heard all of the 'crisp and clear' sound that they advertised.
These seem to be discontinued and they want to get rid of bookshelves (these) for the whole series, for some reason. Maybe people opted to buy these instead of the floor standers. No matter, I found them open box and I had to make sure that the quality was worth having, and they were. The only thing was, they were missing a grille and I cannot seem to find a replacement grille online, anywhere.
I was still on the fence about keeping these until they opened up. I then had to find the matching center channel and compare that to my current one. That too sounds like a much larger speaker, so this whole set convinced me to stop searching for the flood models.
For a minute, they did not output great sound - even with a sub, but one opened up and the receiver turned off and on the next day - it amazed! The other brand already had a strong low end and clean sound, and I would put these at 10-20% better than what I had, which IS marginal, but the larger presence was the main difference.
I am glad that I waited 2 hours in the store while they got them! I was thinking that they were trying to wait me out so that I would leave and so that employees could keep them for themselves! They were worth the wait!
Too bad BB did not have an open box for the center channel, so I ended up pay more than twice for that than I did for these!

I looked at teviews for months and thos one checks all of the nases for features and quality. This passes . blacks are black, brights are spectacular and you feel the need to watch every film again because this will be like seeing them in full quality for the first time! I had a hard time evaluating this processor. It's supposed to be an entry point into HEDT, but the performance lags behind the competition. 5831 points on Cinebench R20, a few hundred above the 9900k, but well below AMD's 3900x. Yet it is much more expensive than the 3900x.
I'd only recommend this processor if you need 256 GB RAM support and the additional PCIe 3.0 lanes. Also, the power draw at 4.7 Ghz all core boost can reach 225W, so good cooling is an absolute must. Given the additional cost of cooling, power draw and lackluster performance, this should have been priced at $100 less.

You get this for the extra PCIE lanes, quad channel RAM, better memory controller, cheaper motherboards than a Threadripper, no need to buy a whole new (and expensive) cooler and TR3 CPU's cost way too much to entertain. These are good CPU's that still manage to take on AMD with more cores, which means that Intel's individual cores are still better. AMD wins on pure workstation performance due to having more cores, but you need more lanes to work with those cores for workstation use.

These reviews are funny but when it comes to true quality this cable can't be beat. The price is high of course which will shy away most people from buying but take it from me if you have the money to splurge and a great TV with a great audio system this is a wonderful addition to that collection. The cable is made from Silver which means it will always retain value. I own a Samsung 55F8000 with my Samsung F7500 Bluray player and it can't be beat I'm just glad they finally sell the 6.6 ft one on Best Buy since the 2 ft just isn't long enough for my mounted needs.

Been a Galactica fan since it first aired and got this copy on BB's Black Friday deal. Great picture transfer to 4k, but the picture is stretched to full screen from its native 4:3, which means some of the picture is lost. Could have upgraded to surround, only having a 2.0 audio track. Still worth the purchase.

Hello. I looked on IMDB because I too was curious about the original aspect ratio. It is still hard to decipher, but it shows the TV ratio as 4:3 and the THEATER ratio as 1:85:1. I guess this was shown in theaters, but I never knew it. Maybe it was in Europe. So which one is the real one? When things are shot on film, the ratio can be larger than what is shown. So widescreen could be the real one.

Unlessyour laptop is very old, it should fit in where a mechanical drive fits in. If it does not, i would suggest getting a new laptop first or it will all be a waste.
