For those fans of the movie, Braveheart, Robert The Bruce takes off years after the death of William Wallace. It shows how Robert went into hiding, and how he must eventually face his challengers. Kudos!

This had been my first time watching Braveheart, and I was very impressed. It provides a great story, coupled with a lot of action, that shows the struggle of a people fighting for their freedom! Kudos!
Mel Gibson's lush, savage Revolutionary War epic is given the royal treatment in this DVD from Columbia-TriStar. The film is shown in an anamorphic widescreen presentation, which preserves the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio. In addition, the digital mastering makes for a clearer picture with crisp, vibrant colors. The sound is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1, so viewers won't miss one thundering musket or crunching cannonball. As for extras, The Patriot does not disappoint. Director Roland Emmerich and producer Dean Devlin offer a feature-length commentary that offers some good insights into the making of the picture. The commentary at times seems to be improvised, however, occasionally leading to some distracting asides and in-jokes. The Patriot also offers a host of deleted scenes, which feature an optional commentary and serve to expand some of the film's subplots and characters. Viewers are also treated to three behind-the-scenes featurettes. The first of these offers a tutorial on the creation of the film's gorier special effects, while the other two provide an interesting look at the filmmaker's painstaking efforts to bring American history to life. For fans of the film, this is a must-own. For the uninitiated, it offers an excellent chance to experience The Patriot.

The Patriot is a film I had been meaning to see for a long time. I finally got the opportunity, and I was very impressed with it. It gives the viewer an account of an American family in the days preceding the Revolution. Kudos!
Michael Apted directed and Lawrence Kasdan wrote the screenplay for this diverting romantic comedy -- a film that attempts to recapture the spirit of an old Spencer Tracy-Katherine Hepburn vehicle. A very subdued John Belushi plays a star columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times named Ernie Souchak (but loosely based on columnist Mike Royko) who uses his column as a direct line to report on the dirty dealings at Chicago City Hall. When his political reports on a local corrupt alderman get too hot, Ernie is sent to the Rocky Mountains to do a fluff piece on reclusive ornithologist Nell Porter (Blair Brown). Ernie arrives at her mountain hideaway, but Nell is hostile and orders him to leave. Ernie informs her that his guide won't return for a few weeks and she reluctantly permits him to stay. The two first learn to put up with each other and then their aversion slowly turns into love.

Continental Divide was one of John Belushi's last movies. While his role in this one is slightly different from previous roles in Animal House and The Blues Brothers, Belushi delivers with his own style of comedy. Well worth watching!

I had seen a couple of clips from this movie on YouTube, and was impressed enough to see this movie. One of the high points was seeing R. Lee Ermey, best known for his role as The Gunny in Full Metal Jacket, portraying a sergeant in a pre-gunny role.

I had heard how Dances With Wolves was a great movie, but had never had the opportunity to see it until recently. I was thoroughly impressed with the story, and I must admit that even though the movie was approximately three hours long, it hardly seemed like it because it was so engrossing. Kudos!

I have long admired the work of Lon Chaney, and had only recently become aware of this movie. As I also liked James Cagney, seeing him in the title role gave me an added bonus for this movie. It was certainly a worthwhile endeavor to watch it, and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Chaney or Cagney.

The movie is a great "whodunnit" that keeps the viewer guess throughout the entire movie. It provides a great cast, along with a spectacular storyline that keeps the viewer intrigued and engaged. Kudos.

This is a great coming of age movie where Haley Joel Osment's character is sent to spend to live with his eccentric great-uncles, played masterfully by Robert Duvall and Michael Caine. As the movie progresses, the boy bonds well with his uncles, and develops many life lessons along the way. Kudos!

This is the story of an American businessman who unwittingly gets caught in a centuries-old conflict between a samurai and ninja clan in modern-day Japan. The fight sequences between the warring clans are intriguing, and the viewer would not be disappointed. Kudos!
