Sensor Definitely Helps Thermostat, But Why?

I recently sampled the Nest 3rd Gen thermostat and was forced to purchase this sensor due to the extreme temperature variance from the thermostat which was located in my hallway. the temp was off by 5+ degrees and still cold in the house. This sensor did indeed fix the variance and get the house heated properly. But after a month of use, I decided to return everything and go back to my Sensi thermostat. I found the Nest difficult to get up and working properly, which took about two weeks of fiddling with variance settings. Prior to getting correct settings, heat would stop working on multiple occasions, unit would run nonstop for hours requiring a reboot. I missed multiple features from my Sensi unit which has builtin temp. variance adjustment. I also can create multiple schedules which the Nest only has one schedule.

Decent Bag w/Minimum Storage Pockets

Bag serves my purpose fairly well which was to stop carrying my normal size work laptop in my Ogio backpack when visiting my clients, and slim down to a smaller bag with a smaller Surface Go tablet. Most of the other bags at BB were a little bulkier than I wanted, and this bag was one of the thinnest. It was also on sale and cheap when I purchased it. I can get my tablet, binder, and a few minor IT tools, parts in the bag but do wish the storage was a bit more ample.

I picked up this mouse to go with my new Surface Go and wanted a bluetooth mouse instead of wireless as to have to use up a USB port for a dongle. I was surprised to find at BB there are only a few bluetooth mouse, and this is the cheapest one. The mouse works fine for business & mobile use, has a decent quality feel, but the mouse has a flat grip. This is fine but I tend to prefer a more arched/claw style.

Still One of the Best WWII Movies

While this is still one of the best WWII movies, it's not a movie a tend to watch often due to the nature of the movie. With that out of the way, hows the audio & video in 4K? I surprisingly didn't notice any film grain that stood out while watching it. I'd say the transfer is likely top notch. The HDR impact was minimal, but likely as it should with the type of movie this is. Everything seemed to be really detailed overall. The Atmos track seemed decent but nothing crazy for me. Most youtube reviewers have this in their top 10 for 2018; I don't think it would be in my list though. The only significant base was in the final act with the tanks. It was very impactful in these scenes, but I was expecting a little more throughout the movie.

Great Story Telling from the 90s, Decent 4K Transf

This was a great movie at the theater back in the 90's, and still is today. Much better movie than the recent First Man starring Ryan Gosling. That movie had a bad director and it's overall presentation was just horrendous. I wasn't the only one leaving the theater saying, "That's how the movie is ending?" Anyway back to Apollo 13. The video transfer is pretty good, not much with any HDR but as a plus I don't think I recall seeing much if any film grain from the 35mm transfer. As for the audio, it was pretty good but was excepting much more.

Ready to see what happens next in the next movie. 4K visuals are decent but not eye popping, but the overall natural look of everything looks realistic. Pretty Good 4K Movie, Could've Had Bit More

I've had a digital HD copy and just watched my new 4K disc yesterday. The video upgrades are a step up. HDR does have some benefits here. The opening scene with the sun is blinding, and the dirt and grit on faces were noticeably more detailed. The audio is fairly decent, with the low end being the highlight for me. The tanks rolling around in specific scenes create a lot of low end bass for your subs. Surrounds are excellent with the tank shelling, especially when the tank shells are skipping across the ground or ricochet of the other tanks, and bounce across the room. I didn't notice much overhead sound, only when an occasional plane fly's overhead.

Like all Marvel movies, this one is fun and entertaining and has a few laughs. Nothing mind blowing here but definitely can't wait for Infinity War 2: be sure to sit thru extra scene(s) if you haven't watched. As far as video and audio quality, I'd say it is at par with what Disney has been doing lately: standard fair, no true 4K scan, and not much with the surround sound or overheads.

Amazing Update Worthy of Being in My Top 4K Discs

Grabbed this for $10 on Black Friday. This 4K transfer is excellent particularly with the Dolby Atmos treatment they gave it. I've only owned this on DVD and I can't say when the last time it was when I watched that DVD. It's probably been 15+ years, and have only watched when it was on cable TV. First, the video transfer is good as I believe it's a true 4K scan off the original source. I wouldn't say anything is eye popping since it's so old, and there's an occasional grainy scene since the original was 35mm but is fine. Now to the audio: this is one of my top 4K movies in my collection for surround sound. There's a lot of side channel activity moving around. You get plenty from the gun fire and shell casings. I also noticed a lot of sounds coming from all sorts of things from within the plane, and I don't recall all of this from my DVD and old system. There's also some decent overheads with the tanker explosion and the fighter jets. The F15's sound particular good moving across the sound stage. Again, one of my top movies to show off to friends & family.

When I went to see this at Cinemark's XD theater, I was expecting to get blown away with the visuals. It didn't move me or excite me in anyway. Watching it on my LG OLED at home at least, I can say it looks really good in 4K. It's still a decently fun movie to watch. I don't recall any crazy with the Atmos, but there was a small amount of overhead effects. Granted I really need to upgrade my 5.1.2 setup to a full 7.1.4 setup; or even a 7.1.6.
