Fantastic build quality at an unbeatable price

Lenovo's Legion series of laptops can be very confusing for those who aren't familiar with the naming convention. You have 5, 5i, 5i Pro, 5 Pro, 7i, 7i Pro, etc. Now they're adding "a" models with AMD processors...
Anyway, the point is that the 7i and the 7i Pro are very different models despite both being "7" series.
The 7i only comes in white and has an all-metal build. This was originally called a "slim" model because it's a sleeker build than the Pro models. At the end of the day, all you need to know is that the white 7i is the least "gamer" looking of the Legion models and comes with 5060 or 5070 options.
I purchased the 5070 model from Lenovo on sale for about $600 under MSRP. This was a great price for what I got, but then Best Buy dropped their 5060 model to $600 under MSRP and it was a steal.
The build of the two machines is the same - you can pay more for a higher refresh display by buying the 5070 model from Best Buy. Running games on the 5070 and 5060 feels very similar, the only thing I notice is the 5060 model seems to run its fans sooner than the 5070 model. Could just be my unit.
Overall, this is my favorite laptop out of all of the major brands. I've tried many Asus, Alienware, Razer, Gigabyte, and other models.

Insane power in a portable form factor

Yes, this device is expensive. Yes, it targets a very specific use case. And yes, you can get better gaming performance for less money if you buy a traditional laptop.
That said, if you are looking for a blazing fast device that’s more portable than a laptop, can be used on soft surfaces, has an amazing display without the need for OLED burn in mitigation, and can run pretty much any modern game without a hitch, this could be for you.
When using this pc for daily tasks it feels like the fastest device I have ever used. My only knocks would be on the 1TB storage - give us a 2280 slot or ship with 2TB.

Perfect blend of power and portability

The ProArt PX13 is aimed at “creators” but really should be looked at as a MacBook Pro Windows alternative. The design is spectacular, with high quality materials and a form-meets-function build.
The specs are great for most use cases, and while fans are loud during demanding tasks, the laptop is silent for everything else. This model includes a powerful AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and a mid-range RTX 4050. Based on the limited power supplied to the graphics chip, it doesn’t make sense to spend the extra for the 4060, in my opinion. While this isn’t a gaming laptop, it easily handles all modern games I’ve thrown at it.
The elephant in the room is the screen. A stunning 13” OLED panel that has a 60hz refresh rate. Based on the graphics capabilities, 60 is fine… although it is a questionable decision when the rest of the hardware is pretty high end. It’s not like Asus hasn’t used 120hz OLEDs in other notebooks.
Overall super happy with the whole package. Every product could be “better” and this is what I’d change for a v2:
1. 2280 SSD instead of the 2230
2. 120hz refresh rate for the display
3. Higher power rating for the GPU, although this would require better cooling and a heavier build.

Excellent alternative to the Steam Deck

Handheld Pcs have been around a long time, but a mass market option was never fully embraced until the Steam Deck. While the SD was great, the form factor and additional effort to run games outside the Steam ecosystem made me excited to see what the competition would come up with.
So we have the ROG Ally. Looks like a SD and Zephyrus had a baby. More comfortable to hold, flashier build, better screen, Xbox style controller layout, Windows 11, more power - pretty much everything you could want in a portable PC handheld.
It’s amazing. After a couple of hours of updates it runs everything. Diablo 4 runs great, MWII is smooth, Steam games are perfect for the most part.
Overall this is a very impressive first attempt from Asus, and I can’t wait to see how Valve responds with their next iteration.

Fantastic build quality and great design

This laptop has very mixed reviews and I get it. It’s not cheap and gamers are very particular about QC.
I’ve been through a few models from Asus and Alienware and this is my favorite. The built quality is top notch, keyboard is great, screen is gorgeous, and it has power to match.
It is a great size for work or gaming. The installed software is awkward to update and I still had to update drivers and bios after all the windows updates.
QC wise my model has some backlight bleed, only visible on dark images. Not bad and everything else feels great.
It runs the new CoD maxed out and gets around 90 fps, plenty good for me.
I purchased this open box from a local Best Buy and got a great price. I don’t think it’s worth full msrp but if you could save a few hundred you’ll be happy.

I never cared too much about my mouse, as long as it worked. Last year I decided to treat myself to a Razer Basilsk Hyperspeed, which was much better than my $20 Logitech, but after a year of use, didn’t feel so great.
I tried another Razer, the Viper, and was very let down that it wasn’t Bluetooth. I then went for the Alienware and was blown away.
Fit and finish is as nice as the Razer but the mouse buttons feel much higher quality. Smoother in the hand and more premium in every way.
Lighting is easy to set on my Alienware system. Well worth the price.

I’ve owned the X14 and now the X15 so this review will be a pros/cons compared to the X14. I returned the X14 due to excessive fan noise during regular office work, which made it distracting on zoom calls.
