Much like P.T. Barnum himself, The Greatest Showman hoodwinks moviegoers with a whopper of a fantasy, thrilling them with flamboyant spectacle and an imaginative fairytale that inspires. Starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Michelle Williams, the musical drama hits a few snags during the show, but the overall performance is freakishly entertaining and delightful, finishing strong in the end.
The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray takes to the stage with an excellent and lovely HEVC H.265 encode and a satisfying Dolby Atmos soundtrack that'll have owners cheering, dancing and singing along with the characters. With a small but extensive and informative set of bonus features, the overall package is recommended for the whole family and the freaks who enjoy a good musical.

Alejandro G. Inarritu's 'Birdman' is a darkly humorous examination of human nature, art, and ego. Through mocking satire, sincere heart, and an incredible unblinking visual style, the director comes away with a genuine cinematic masterpiece. The video transfer and audio are both exceptional, highlighting the movie's impeccable cinematography and sound design. Though supplements are rather light, the included material offers several worthwhile insights into the film's impressive production. Although The Dark Knight set a new precedent in comic-book film adaptations, The Dark Knight Rises thankfully lived up to expectations and thoughtfully expanded on the grounded-in-reality universe set forth by Batman Begins.
Gotham turns into a war zone of class conflict on Ultra HD with a marvelous, reference-quality 4K HDR presentation that goes mano-a-mano against its HD SDR counterpart and easily wins. The war erupts with the same DTS-HD MA soundtrack enjoyed on the Blu-ray, and it remains an awesomely thrilling, bombastic aural experience with several demo-worthy moments. With the same set of supplements ported over, the overall package is highly recommended for anyone wanting one of the best UHDs currently available.

For the sixth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, writer/director Christopher McQuarrie essentially brings the series full circle, focusing the plot as much about fighting the terrorist organization The Syndicate as it is a personal journey for its central hero, Ethan Hunt. Tom Cruise reprises his role for Mission: Impossible – Fallout with a more somber, grave mood than its predecessors, as the events and choices of those movies noticeably take their toll on the character, making the best entry in the series yet. Although director Damien Chazelle's approach to the material is to a certain degree questionable and at times distracting, First Man is nonetheless a wonderfully satisfying telling of the Space Race and the Apollo 11 lunar landing as told from the perspective of Neil Armstrong while featuring terrific performances by Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy. The Ultra HD safely launches to 4K home theaters with an excellent Dolby Vision HDR presentation that surpasses its Blu-ray counterpart and the same fantastic Dolby Atmos soundtrack. Although supplements are rather short and somewhat disappointing, the overall UHD package is nonetheless recommended for fans and history buffs.
