Danny DeVito is an A-lister comedian of our age, so as a kid, I was surprised to know that he would play one of antagonists while narrating and helming this picture of the beloved children's novel. My siblings and I have fond childhood memories associated with this movie, and we still quote it to this day. Funny, heartfelt, adventurous, this film is one that everyone in the family can enjoy.

A handsomely made film about the right to vote

"Selma" explores the racially turbulent years 1964-1965 as black people stood up for their right to vote. The systematic persecution and injustice of black people was going unanswered and this was largely due to black people being deliberately kept out of the democratic process. In this dramatization of MLK and company, the film explores the tactics used by the civil rights leader and his associates to peacefully fight for their right to vote. The film also serves as a dark mirror in 21st century America, that while great strides have been made in the struggle for justice and equality for people of color, the resisters of equality for all are still ever present today to voice their innate superiority beliefs. As an avid lover of films depicting the struggle of black people in America, I highly recommend you add this film to your collection.

Comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld takes his talents to the big screen in his love ballad to bees. The exploration of the beehive and the different roles the bees take on and the why, and the playful give-and-take between the characters make this film fully enjoyable for adults and children alike. As someone who enjoyed the Seinfeld sitcom and the glorious food that is honey, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bee Movie gets an A+!

West Side Story is one of the great films of the 20th century. The attention to detail and quality garnered multiple Academy Award wins. Throughout the ages, the dominant home video format enjoyed a presentation of this classic story. The most notable release was the 40th anniversary DVD release, which included several bonus material, not just on the discs themselves, but physical bonus materials, including a scrapbook. That's always a treat. So I was disappointed when I upgraded my DVD for the Blu-ray edition with no physical bonus material to speak of. Oh well.

The Home Alone movies that count in a bundle alone

I don't know anyone that didn't either grow up on these 2 classics or watched them because of their parents. The (mis)adventures of Kevin McCallister are fun for the whole family, with positive messages laced throughout the films.
I gave Home Alone 3 a shot, but it just didn't hold. The proof of it was in the 4th title of the franchise where they get another kid, and then they go make a 5th installation. Why can't Hollywood leave well enough alone? Oh yeah, cuz people pay money to see them... but I digress.
I'm really happy 20th Century Fox released the first two films together on Blu-ray. Whether you're filling up your shelf with nostalgic films or if you're looking for quality family films, these need to be part of your collection.

To paraphrase Agent J: You know the difference between Blu-ray and 4K? 4K makes it look good.
I was pleasantly surprised how clean and crisp the 1997 blockbuster and its sequels looked. Even the dated CGI looks great. This is another catalog title that showcases the superiority of Native 4K scan - as opposed to many films out there finished at a 2K DI then upscaled to 4K, and they dare call that "4X the resolution of Blu-ray"... but I digress. The visual contrast between the black suits and the white MiB headquarters was a constant, subtle reminder throughout the series of how the HDR feature of the 4K format make the colors really pop and stand out.
I chose the steelbook over the standard release because 1) it was on sale that week, 2) it has the shelf width of a single movie (the standard release is about the width of 1 and a half movies), and 3) the artwork of the steelbook is vastly superior to the plain artwork of the standard release IMO.
This should be a part of every collection to anyone who loves 90s blockbusters!

Perfect replacement charger for my S8+

After experiencing more than my share of 3rd party brands, I decided to stick with original brands to avoid dysfunctionality. I had my phone plugged in to the original charger which I've had for nearly 2 years, and my kitten saw the wire and mistook it for some yarn. Needless to say, it wasn't Samsung's fault the wire no longer worked. But with the original one working for so wrong, that was testament enough to prove the quality of the product and I'm so glad I got an original brand replacement.
