A great film from the 80’s

I feel like this is an 80’s favorite for most everybody. Mine showed up in good condition. My one contention is that my copy did not show up with the slip cover, so I only got the raw plastic case. Not a huge deal, but can’t help but think that if I had ordered direct from Shout Factory that I would have gotten the slip cover.

Loved this movie! My store only got 2 in stock, and the original one they pulled had significant damage to the slip cover, but I was fortunate enough to get the second copy they had which was in perfect condition so they allowed me to swap it out which was nice. Highly recommend this film.

KL Studios continues to knock it out of the park with their 4K restorations. This is a 70’s classic with an incredible music score, stellar character acting, and electric photography. Seeing 70’s New York and especially in the subway systems just feels spectacular, and especially seeing this movie all cleaned up and restored from the original camera negative in 4K makes this a must-buy for any cinema lover!

This is a complicated review: while the condition of the physical packaging is great (slip cover, case, and discs all in perfect condition), the movie itself is a bit disappointing, but that’s nothing on Best Buy. The other thing, which this blame goes to iTunes, is that the playback on the extras for the digital copy doesn’t work. Hopefully Apple/iTunes will fix that soon, but a prime example why buying physical media is still a good idea!

The Original Music is Back with this set!!!

Having read a number of other reviews, I was hesitant to pick this box set up especially considering the price, but being a longtime fan of the series and the fact that the original series music (which is a MAJOR, critical part of the storytelling) is only available via physical media, this was a must-buy for me. I’m happy to share mine showed up in perfect condition. It was shipped in a sturdy box so the set itself is in great condition with now damage. The disc cases do have a bit of trouble holding some of the discs in place, but not major. The biggest advantage of this set is the special features and having the original music that was aired with the series since none of that is available on any of the streaming versions on Netflix, iTunes, etc… due to how & when the music rights were negotiated. All I have to say is: Having “Carry On My Wayward Son” playing during the season finales makes this set worth the price!

Case, slipcover, and discs were all in good condition aside from a couple small scratches on the back of the slip cover which show a bit of the silver underneath the print but negligible. Not sure why this movie got such poor critic reviews as it’s a pretty straight forward superhero action smash up. Found it to be very fun and buildinf out a broader universe of characters.
