This is my first Windows machine in almost 8 years. I have been exclusively using Mac and a bit of Linux as of late. So it took me a while to get used to Windows 10 (last Windows used regularly was Vista). Definitely not my favorite OS but we'll see how the newest version holds up over time. One of the hassles I remember regarding Windows was installing printers and other hardware. I can report that my Epson photo printer was detected over the wireless network and installed without any issue.
Overall this is a very capable machine. The screen is 1920x1080, which is perfect for watching movies. Any lower would be too low and any higher would probably be unnecessary for this screen size. There appears to be no degradation in image quality when viewed from off angles.
I really like that HP included a toggle to turn on the backlit keyboard and it has a button to toggle airplane mode on/off.I will probably start taking this with me for traveling as it's so thin and light it can sit in the pocket with my 10" tablet and I can use it on the plane instead of trying to work on my 15" laptop. That is definitely a plus.
I haven't had it long enough to judge battery life but I've been using it pretty heavily and haven't had to charge it too often. I really like that it charges via USB-C. That allows me to use the same USB-C cable that I charge a competitors 12" laptop with while keeping my charging station a little less cluttered.
No issues in training my fingers to use keyboard. It's pretty much a full size keyboard with plenty of travel for the keys.
The speakers are actually really good for such a thin device. Quite impressed. They are by Bang and Olufsen. Turning them up to full volume does not cause much distortion at all but there is very little bass at any volume. They go pretty loud as well. Watching some shows on Netflix I was really impressed with the stereo separation.
I didn't have any issues with performance doing tasks such as web browsing, checking emails, watching movies and the such. I don't have many recent or demanding games but I tried playing Cities: Skylines which it handled quite well. The fan was on most of the time but the bottom side did not get hot and I did not see any graphical stutters at all during gameplay.
Did I mention how thin and light this laptop is? It's perfect for anyone who needs to be mobile or needs the portability unless you just want something with a larger screen or more graphics horsepower for gaming or media editing, etc.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my first budget Android tablet. I have always had flagship iOS or Android models that costs significantly more so I was not expecting much when this came in the mail. However, while some of my expectations were correct, I was overall surprised.
The tablet is designed to be held in landscape orientation, but of course can be used in either. The build quality is what you would expect for a budget tablet. It is a hard thick plastic with a diamond-shaped texturing on the back. It’s not bad but definitely a different and heavier feel if you are used to more expensive tablets. One weird thing I noticed is the front camera is off center a bit while the back camera is centered. My guess is these are thicker camera components and both could not be stacked on top of each other.
I have to commend Acer for giving this 32gb out of the gate instead of the typical 16gb that you would find in a tablet of this class. This is plenty of space for most users but if you need more there is a microSD slot on the top of the tablet, as well as your power and volume controls. There are dual forward facing speakers that I would call just adequate. Nothing a good pair of headphones can’t fix.
I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this tablet. I loaded games such as Asphalt 8 and Spiderman Unlimited expecting a disaster but both ran just fine. In fact, I have seen both games stutter on my older but flagship Android tablets. Performance overall is really good.
Now the downside is the screen quality. I have to knock a star for the screen resolution. In my opinion a 10” tablet, even one that is trying to be the most affordable should have better resolution, at least 1080p. This tablet has a resolution of 1280 x 800 which would be ok for a 7” tablet but at full size you can definitely see the pixels. This makes reading magazines or comics difficult if not impossible. For those activities smaller text is a jagged unreadable mess. The most you’ll see a movie at is 720p and with poor black levels.
It does install a few icons for other apps on the homepage upon first boot up that you may or may not want. However, these are not actual applications and are simple links that can be removed very easily. Other tablets I have owned had the bloatware installed and you could not remove it. So that is definitely a plus.
It also have a function called “EZ Wake” which allows you to tap twice on the screen to wake the tablet from sleep. A really cool feature.
I was going to give this tablet a 3 because I cannot recommend it for reading magazines/comics or watching videos due to the poor screen and audio quality. But in reality, it actually is a capable tablet for the price as long as you understand what to expect. I would recommend this to someone who wants to play casual games, check email, e-reading, or minimal web browsing.

The EA9500 is Linksys’ flagship router for 2016. It supports the latest wireless technologies and standards most notably MU-MIMO (more on that in a minute). It has a tri-band radio (2 x 5Ghz @2166Mbps + 1 x 2.4 Ghz @ 1000Mbps), eight gigabit ethernet ports, and two USB ports (one being USB 3.0).
This router is an absolute beast, both physically and in its performance. It is larger than the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 that it is replacing, which I already thought was a fairly large router. I have been using it now for several days and have had no hiccups in performance of any kind on my wired or wireless devices and with these specs I didn’t anticipate that I would. No problems streaming HD video to multiple devices even while simultaneously streaming a 1080p game over Geforce Now which is incredibly bandwidth intensive.
MU-MIMO is one of the most exciting new features of this router. Look it up if you’ve never heard of it but basically it allows devices to have their own communication stream to the router thus providing huge benefits in wireless efficiency. Unfortunately, it’s a feature that I won’t be able to fully benefit from until I get at least a couple of MU-MIMO capable devices, for which there aren’t many on the market today. You can bet though that in a few years all mid and high end devices will support this so you are really doing yourself a favor by future-proofing your wireless setup now.
Probably the best thing about this router besides the performance and future ready features is the setup and configuration. The setup wizard is one of the simplest I have used. It helps you every step of the way from getting connected to the net to setting up your network SSIDs and security. It really is just plug and play—but plug and play done the right way. In the past so many routers have provided something that just got you connected, without bothering to help you secure your network which is why so many people would have unsecured wireless networks which is a really bad thing.
You can also setup the router from a mobile app provided by Linksys. One of my favorite features is I can set up a new device using WPS right from the app which is really convenient.
My biggest disappointment with this router is the lack of security for the guest network. It provides an insecure network that prompts you for a password when you connect, but even this is cleartext. I don't really use the guest network that often so for now I’m just disabling it and will reconsider it if Linksys enables security through a firmware update. I did not test the external storage, media prioritization, or USB functions as I don't use them.
Overall this is an excellent router that won't become obsolete any time soon.

I bought this to replace a 2014 Fire 8gb. The only reason I did was because 8gb is way too small and my kids are constantly asking me to help them delete apps so they can download new ones through Kindle Freetime.
This one has an SD card slot where apps can be automatically downloaded to. Unfortunately the device has so many other issues that I'd rather hold on to the 2014 model and live with the limited space.
Not all apps are available on the new Kindle. My son was looking for a specific game through Freetime that he liked to play on the old Kindle and we could not find it. Amazon support simply hung up on me after they couldn't figure it out.
The navigation bar does not auto hide correctly. It displays all the time on a normal or kids profile which is very distracting. In most apps the navigation bar would not hide and we were forced to play with a black bar at the bottom of the screen. The 2014 model does not have this issue and Amazon support had no answer for this either.
I understand it's a cheap tablet, but potential buyers should know the screen is the absolute worst. I thought last years model was pretty poor but compare the two side by side and it's easy to see the new one has a much lower PPI, poor color reproduction, and serious light bleed issues.
Games that play fine on the 2014 model will stutter and freeze on the new one. This was the last straw for me and made me realize this device is a serious downgrade over last years model.
I give it two stars instead of one because if you can ignore all these issues and and just wanna cheap tablet for your kids to break then it may work for you. For me it was just far too frustrating.

I've had a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 for the past year and I love it. At the time, the Tab S 10.5 was the best Android tablet you could buy but I don't think it necessarily was better than an iPad. When Samsung announced the Tab S2 I was excited for the opportunity to upgrade but initially was concerned about the switch to the 4:3 aspect ratio and other seemingly missing features such as fast and wireless charging and using a previous generation processor instead of the latest.
I purchased one anyway and so far I love it more than I thought I would. The switch to 4:3 makes web browsing much more efficient and I've already gotten used to holding the tab in portrait orientation. The 4:3 aspect ratio does mean that movies and comic books will have black bars so to me it's kind of a toss up for me as to which is a better format.
The tablet is definitely much easier to hold as it's not as long and skinny as the Tab S and significantly lighter. I mean it is really light. It is just as light as a smartphone. It's the lightest and thinnest tablet of this size on the market and I believe that's why Samsung chose to skip on some of those flagship features. For me, weight, thinness and screen resolution is why I spend an extra couple hundred dollars over a Tab 4 or Tab A for example so if some features had to go to make it this thin and light, so be it!
For it to be this thin and light also meant some battery capacity had to be sacrificed and this is why i think they chose to go with last year's processor from the Note 4 instead of this year's Note 5. Now that I've used it, I see it doesn't matter. This thing is freakn' fast. I had no idea how slow my Tab S and iPad was until I got this tab. Hopefully it won't slow down over time but so far I'm very pleased with it's performance. I tested every game I owned and all performed and looked just as good in the new aspect ratio.
When this tab was announced, many people considered this tablet a downgrade because the screen size and resolution is lower than the Tab S 10.5. I wasn't too concerned with this. Because of the change in aspect ratio the actual screen area is about the same and you can't tell the difference in resolution even when using the same apps side by side.
Finally, the premium build quality is definitely noticeable with this tablet. My Tab S 10.5 started to make creaking noises after a few months when you touched certain areas of the bezel due to the way it's put together. I don't think I'll have this issue with this tab. It feels very solid throughout and I actually prefer the plastic back over a cold slippery aluminum one like an iPad.
All in all, this is a top-notch premium tablet that I think finally competes with the iPad Air 2 and actually come out on top in weight, thinness, screen quality, and performance.

I've been using a Samsung 1920x1200 monitor for the past 6 years so when I decided to add a second monitor to my desk I was buying with the idea that I will also use this new monitor for just as long.
This is the reason why I chose to spend extra and get a 4K monitor at a time when 4K support is pretty limited. It also has the inputs I was looking for although I wish it included dual DisplayPort connectors.
Just so you know DisplayPort is the only way to get 4K content at 60Hz. With HDMI, you can do 4K at 30Hz or lesser resolutions at 60Hz.
Connectivity:
DisplayPort is hooked up to my Macbook Pro which is about 3 years old so the best it can do is 2560x1440 resolution. Even though the monitor is not displaying in its native 4K resolution it still looks fantastic.
HDMI Port 1 is connected to my Linux desktop which can display 4K. I use this if I actually want to view content in 4K. Some of the 4K content that you can find is breathtaking when viewed on this monitor. It's much more appreciable when you are sitting 2-3 feet from a 4k monitor versus trying to watch it on a 4K TV where you really won't see the detail from the distance that most people watch their TVs.
HDMI port 2 is used for gaming with my PS4 and it has quickly become one of my favorite display devices to game on.
PIP: The PIP (Picture-in-Picture) is a nice feature but it's usefulness is limited. It's nice to be able to put my PS4 for example into a smaller window of my desktop but things on your computer screen can get hidden behind this inset. The side-by-side feature is much more useful if you need to use more than one ipnut at a time as long as you are ok with each view being vertical. This feature doesn't work well at all with input from my Linux machine.
Sound: I love how I can route the sound through my monitor and out to my external THX speaker system. Whichever source is displayed on the monitor is output to my speaker system, whether is is the sounds of my Mac through DisplayPort or the sounds of my games through HDMI. There is a volume control on the monitor that's easilly accessible through the jog wheel if you are using headphones. I keep it at 100% and control the sound with my external speakers.
Menu: The menu and configuration buttons are on the back of the monitor on the right hand side in the form of a "jog wheel" so it can be a little awkward to change inputs or any other settings but unless you are trying to configure PIP you won't be using the menu often, so it works fine.
Stand and Mounting: The stand is not adjustable and there are no mounting holes to do a wall mount with this monitor. For me, this is not a problem.

I really wanted to like this case/keyboard combo. The keyboard itself is excellent. I was able to get used to the small form factor and typing is a breeze. The case on the other hand is not anything special. It does, however fit very securely to the tablet. For typing, the tablet securely sits upright using a magnet built into the case found alongside the top row of keys.
However, I don't use my tablet primarily on the desk. One reason I bought a tablet was to have maximum portability and versatility. I use my tablet in meetings to take notes (need keyboard) but I hold the tablet in portrait orientation often for reading (no keyboard) in the evening and this case makes it very uncomfortable to hold. A few times my hand would fall asleep. I could live with this case if I could easily remove it from the tablet but unfortunately they made it very inconvenient to do so. Also, this case will add considerable bulk to the tablet, it doubles both it's thickness AND weight. (Seriously, this keyboard/case combo weighs almost as much as the tablet itself)
In the end, I decided to stick with the Samsung Book Cover case. It's expensive, almost the same price as this combo, but maintains most of the tablet's slim profile and light weight. If I use the tablet on a desk I simply use a standalone bluetooth keyboard.
However, I would still recommend this case if you were to tell me you are planning on using your tablet on a table most of the time.

What's great about it: Thin, Functional, Good Grip, Works well as a stand
What's not so great: Cost
I've bought many tablets and phones and as a result numerous cases for them by many different manufacturers. I have never found an OEM case that I liked and typically would return it for a third-party one. This one is an exception.
The Tab S is thin--really thin, and this case keeps it thin. It is a very low profile case that provides adequate protection for the sensitive corners of the device. Whenever I hold the device in my hand I cannot believe how light and thin it is even with a case attached.
The buttons to attach the case are ingenious and are really what allows this case to be so low-profile. It does not need to wrap around the tablet, just pop it in. And not to worry about it coming off either. In fact, if you are one who changes cases or wants to take it off from time to time then this case may not be for you because it is not that easy to get off.
Finally, I bought the case primarily to protect the device and not so much for its functionality as a stand. But I absolutely LOVE it when using it a stand. It has three positions (really all you need) and is stable enough that you can even use the stand while the tablet rests in your lap.
Yes, it is expensive being that it is just a case but it is worth it.

What's not so great: Short battery life
I don't game much on my desktop but when I do this mouse fits the bill. It is really comfortable to use. I see no difference in performance using it in wired or wireless mode. However, in wireless mode I get at best a week out of the battery.

What's great about it: works on Ubuntu Linux, easy setup
What's not so great: nothing
I needed a wireless adapter for an Ubuntu 13.10 Linux desktop. Finding products that work with Linux are always a gamble but this was the cheapest option Best Buy had so why not give it a try?
I went home and plugged the adapter into the USB port and Ubuntu detected and installed it automatically---no CD or download required. A wireless icon appeared on my taskbar and I clicked it and made the connection to my wireless router. Simple as can be.
Can't comment on how it works on Windows PC or Mac as I have not tried it.

Correct, not on the front. The front has vertical spots for hard disks. You would need to use a USB external Bluray drive.

This might be a dumb question, but will the 2080 be able to use g-sync? I don’t see it on Nvidia’s list of supported cards. (https://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/g-sync/supported-gpus) Would I need to run v-sync as well? Thanks.

Yes, it supports G-Sync.

Reference: I have this computer and my monitor is G-Sync.
