This is a fine middle of the road computer, desktop but not so bulky. It has plenty of power, space and everything I need is in there or plugs in the back. A few more high speed USB at the back would be nice. Front USB conn's say 3.0 but what about the rest? Wind 8.1 not that hard to find the familiar in. I added LibreOffice and GIMP right off, free doc and image handling, and the latest JAVA JRE. Google Drive for cloud backup works fine, too. You'd think that HP might send wireless KB and mouse for an even lower clutter desk, these days. Bluetooth would be grand. Touch screen would be nice, too.

What's great about it: Easy to use, great screen, battery, wifi
What's not so great: So SW not available for Andriod or this CPU. Limited BT modes.
I got this for handling notes at meetings, and it is fine. I tried forcing Chrome to run in desktop mode, but many complex sites overwhelmed it of showed Chrome bugs! Some apps have cut Android off, or do not like this CPU. More support picking a good replacement for flash and such would be nice. Wifi goes dead occasionally, has to be disabled and enabled after long sleep, but not aggravatingly often. Many fine apps available. Instructions insufficient for all the internal function points, especially for new tablet users. First unit died about 2 weeks in. No app sync to load up the new tablet. Bookmark sync via Google is nice. Sometimes it seems to get lost in loops, but no more than my desktop!

What's great about it: Good Protection, several configurations
What's not so great: A bit floppy on my Insignia Flex 10.1
This works fine with my Insignia Flex 10.1, if a bit floppy when folded up flat, either open or closed. I suppose a universal will always have some fit variances. I like to use it in stand-up mode on a level table.

i use comcast aps on my phone as well wwe network and netfick will they work on this
There are many fine apps that run on this tablet, but some that are available for some Android systems do not have a version that supports this CPU. The installing app like the Google Play Store will tell you if they are compatible before you can attempt install. Before downloading, make sure you do not already have an app that does what you want. Space is limited.

Shutting itself off
Every night when I charge, the tablet shuts itself off. I have to restart every morning by holding the power button down 3 times for ten second intervals. This happens every night. Any idea how to get it to stop doing this?
Perhaps your usb cable is loose, and when you set it to rest, charging current is interrupted. When power gets low, the tablet will shut down to save the remaining battery.

Download issues
When I download a picture it will take hours, or (more often) days until I can actually view the photo and upload it to various sites, how can I fix this?
Maybe your tablet has been set to sleep or shut down on idle, so background uploads are suspended?

Can't read downloaded material
You may need to find the right app for the file type. I added WPS Office and Asrtro File Manager.

Connecting to Desktop
Per earlier question, that I can't seem to reply to the reply. My tablet will not connect to my desktop. I plug it in, the table says it's a mobile device, but my computer makes a 3 tone noise, and will not see it. I'm wondering if the table is not functioning properly. I'm using the USB cord that came with the tablet. I plug it in the the computer, get 3 short fast tones, instead of the usual one for connecting USB. Then the screen on table says I am connected as a mobile device, but the computer won't see it at all. I love the tablet so I'm hoping nothing is wrong with it.
The computer has to be using the right protocol, in this case MTP.
You can also move files and pictures through Google Drive without the cable, Google Photos not only moves pictures up, they are formatted into stories, stiched together into panoramas and animated gifs, etc. without any effort on your part. Having them on the cloud is more secure against loss.

why cant i connect to wifi?
my wifi says it is connected but it wont pull up the internet. So my guess is that it isnt connected after all. any ideas?
Is the Ethernet cable disconnected? Wifi usually cuts out if the cable is active. Did you try the Windows troubleshooters?

Insignia Flex 10.1 Display problem
My Flex 10.1 display only shows 3/4 of the screen when in landscape. It cuts off where it would (width) in portrait. I have tried master reset etc. I bought this today and it has been like this since I first tuned it on.
Is this in all apps? Mine has no such problem generally, but PDFs not properly rotated are a pain, as the Android Adobe Acrobat Reader has no rotate. You can turn off autorotate and set a manual rotation, they tell me. I just found a PDF editor to rotate the naughty pages.

camera, how do I get unit to take pictures before me rather in front of screen?
A mirror? There is no front camera. Their intent was to support Skype not vacation photos. Remember, this is a low end product, but very nice. My Smartphone by comparison has two cameras (at least, maybe 3, it watches my fingers.)

How do I change my font?
I recently downloaded some font packages and I can't figure out how to load them for some picture editing. Any ideas?
Try GIMP, free and with more features than I can imagine.
I suppose you want to customize the font, as font is usually about text not pictures.
