The pandemic shifted my workspace in many ways, but mostly in the way I meet and communicate on a daily basis. It’s all about teleconferencing and videoconferencing, and that requires a good audio setup on my devices (PC, tablet, mobile). The Logitech Zone 900 serves its purpose very well, filling the space that can only be satisfied with quality audio on both ends.
The headset comes in a modest looking, but very sturdy box – I’m one of those guys that feels packaging tells me a lot about how the manufacturer feels about the quality of their product. The box includes everything to get you up and running in any environment, even a non-Bluetooth setup. This is one of the things that I like about Logitech. They go that extra step to ensure their products function in any environment. Handling the headset, it feels light, but very well made (a very balanced combination of plastic and metal). It’s an on-ear design with very soft ear pads and distinct button controls. The headset folds into a small footprint and there is even a carrying bag – nice touch.
After powering the Zone 900 on, it took no time to get it connected to my laptop, then my tablet. It gives you verbal audio cues for each operation – pairing, connected, microphone muting, etc. I really like that feature because you are always aware of the state of the headset. How does it sound? Actually very good. I was a bit skeptical with the on-ear pad design, but I came away pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. Also, I was told my voice was very distinct, crisp, and clear on the other end of meetings. The controls are spot on and easy to reach and tap/press. When the mic boom is raised, it immediately mutes the mic – no button searching or fumbling around, just simple. The Zone 900 has very good range as well. I had no issues walking around while in conference, or venturing to another room for a quick task or pickup. The battery life seems to be in line with the 14 hour estimate given by Logitech.
The Zone 900 is a quality headset for anyone who does voice related conferencing. It has very good sound, more than adequate signal range, active noise cancellation, fantastic battery life, and sports a quality build. There is even an app providing more customization (sound and status monitoring). I highly recommend it!

If voice and video meetings are part of your standard workday, you need a headset or some other audio set up for the best experience. AVerMedia has given us a product to fit the bill, so to speak, and admirably at that.
Unpacking the USB speaker phone, my initial impression was a positive one. It is well built and simple. Five buttons along with a volume indicator. The simplicity didn’t stop there. This thing is the definition of plug-n-play. I had it hooked up and in use in like a minute. Got on a video conference, and was told my voice was clear and concise without airiness. The speaker performs admirably, delivering clear, crisp audio on par with good laptop or small desktop speakers.
One of my shortest reviews, but one of the best products. The AVerMedia USB speakerphone is one of the best peripherals you can buy if you frequently teleconference or participate in video conferencing, period. A true gem!

Bring clear, powerful sound to the party with the SRS-XP500 Portable Wireless Speaker. Add extra juice to the hits with MEGA BASS and Sony’s unique X-Balanced Speaker units, and keep the energy going with up to 20 hours of battery life1 plus USB-C quick charging. Actual performance varies based on settings, environmental conditions, and usage. Battery capacity decreases over time and use.

Not too much compares to listening to good music. With this Sony Portable Wireless Speaker, you can not only carry your listening pleasure with you, but also have the power to share the experience with a decent crowd.
Unboxing this thing, I immediately felt the quality that Sony brings – very well built, but sleek and functional. It stands about as high as a stage monitor and is probably a tad slimmer than one. The weight makes the speaker feel tangible, but not too heavy. There are music controls on top and control buttons with a compartment in the rear. This speaker is water resistant, and the button and compartment design are in line with that feature. The rear compartment hides 2 USB ports, 2 quarter-inch microphone ports (with one having additional functionality for guitar plug-in), and volume controls. I feel these ports take this Sony portable speaker to another level. It allows anyone to hold a small concert, set up a truly wireless PA system, and do a slew of other things. Connecting via Bluetooth is a snap – very easy, even my wife had it up and running on her iPhone in a jiffy.
How does it sound? Great! The speaker has clear and quality sound with accurate mids and resonating bass. It gets loud enough to entertain a house party, easily. There are lights for all those that are fans of setting the stage or the mood. The battery life is as advertised, as I ran this for days, hours at a time, on my back patio before finally needing a charge. It lasted so long that we were surprised when it gave us the verbal “low battery” warning.
What’s not to like here?... Absolutely nothing. This is one of the best audio products I’ve had the pleasure of using in the last year. The size, it’s ports, the battery life, and the water resistance make it very versatile. If you are in the market for a portable wireless speaker with adequate functionality and quality sound, look no further! This is it!

The Tweezerman nail clipper and file come in a cute package/exterior and perform on par with standard nail and file sets. The bulky case/handle attachment for the nail clipper can be a pro and a con depending on the situation. It is large, but that bodes well for locating it in a purse or bag and using it – very easy on the larger hands. I found it to do a decent job cutting nails, with nearly every cut clean and concise. The emery board has 2 different sides, one more coarse than the other. It gives you just what’s needed to soften and edge and smooth out rough spots.
The only negative, and it’s slight, is if you are a fan of the handle attachment for the nail clipper, it slides off a little too easily at times. Other than that, the set performs well and is very portable.

I can remember when just gaming on a good monitor was enough to make you feel better about the experience, but now there are gaming monitors at every price point that give you features to enhance your gaming experience. The ASUS VG246H does a decent job of that.
Unpacking the monitor, my first thoughts were that it was packaged better than some of the more expensive monitors I’ve owned. When you remove it from the box, the first thing that grabs your attention is the stand – it is large and already attached to the panel. It is also pretty heavy, which I think is a good thing – you shouldn’t experience the standard wobble or tilt effect. It’s very easy to assemble. You attach the base with a simple hand screw, and you’re done.
The physical set up on this monitor is really outstanding. The base is so versatile. You can spin the panel from landscape to portrait. The stem rotates allowing you to set the stand and rotate the monitor into position for the proper viewing angle. It also allows vertical height adjustment. Where most have made changes reducing the ability to make such adjustments, ASUS has done just the opposite.
How does it perform? Well, pretty darn good. This is one of the few times I have turned on a monitor, looked at the screen, and didn’t feel compelled to adjust the settings. The default setting was just that good. Of course you have all the standard controls in place allowing you to adjust the screen to your desired look. There is a 6-button menu system allowing the user to maneuver through the menu system. Some of the highlights are the blue screen filter, FreeSync, and my favorite, GamePlus. GamePlus is so cool! You can add a crosshair to the screen for first-person shooters, measure frames per second, set a timer during gameplay moments, or adjust the display alignment. Fantastic stuff for gamers! This feature alone will have me considering ASUS monitors going forward. The response time is great. I can say the claim of 1ms is tough to measure, but feels pretty darn accurate. Motion seemed to be fine, as most monitors are moving to the 120Hz lane. I don’t really play a lot of racing or flight games, so that could be part of why I can’t see the refresh difference.
Will this monitor work for you? If you like a good picture, great gaming options, blue light filtering, physical and visual flexibility, and solid/sturdy construction… then yeah! The only way I wouldn’t recommend this is if someone wanted something larger or with higher resolution. Great monitor!

Often times, just adding a monitor to an existing setup makes you happy. I don’t know if we even care what it looks like or how it performs. We are most times just looking for additional screen or desktop real estate. Some of us understand the need for a quality monitor, and expect not only quality display, but aesthetics and practicality. It’s the latter reason the M27f from HP is worth a look.
Unboxing this monitor, you will find it pleasingly different from most. It’s beautifully thin. If you’ve ever played perfection as a kid, you will have no trouble putting it together with a very simple snap and screw – easy stuff. The monitor sits very well and stable. It has a small forward footprint, with the stand only sitting a couple of inches or so forward of the display. 3 inputs allows you to connect 3 devices – 2 HDMI and 1 VGA. This gives you a lot of flexibility for using this monitor for multiple purposes like extended display space with gaming or an additional computing or media device (Raspberry Pi anyone?). One special feature I liked about the design was the ability for the monitor to tilt upward. I thought this was a very nice touch with the adjustable desks that are becoming increasingly popular. It allows you to set an angle that’s more favorable to a standing desk height. Very cool touch.
The M27f has nice picture quality – good clarity, color accuracy, and refresh rate. The default picture mode is Neutral. I thought it was decent, but I really liked Native and HP Enhance+. The clarity really stands out for productivity apps using these modes. My mode of choice has to be HP Enhance+. Clear lettering, crisp detail on buttons, icons, images – just nice detail. Why is this so special on this display? Because you get all of that with a very controlled, easy on the eyes, display with an always on blue light filter. I think that is fantastic for consumers at this price point – and at 27 inches, yep!
This is a great all-around monitor for anyone in the market. It produces a great 1080p picture, has all the fine-tuning controls of some of the best monitors, is beautifully thin, and has the always on blue light filter. The only thing that I would want that’s not included is vertical adjusting. Other than that, I consider this to be 27 inches of goodness for most in the market.

Comfortable gaming… That’s a term that I didn’t even consider whenever sitting down to delve into hours of gameplay. Don’t get me wrong, when gaming, I don’t choose a chair or posture with the intent of being uncomfortable, but I guess I figured I was as comfortable as needed or desired. Well, there goes that. The Razer Iskur gaming chair changes the game for me.
The very first thing I noticed about this chair was how heavy it is. It easily outweighed the office chair I used up to this point. During unboxing, the weight of each piece makes this even more evident. The Razer Iskur is very well built, and the design is quite meticulous in my opinion. It is a very precise fit, even to the point that the screw hole covers are specific for each side and have a specific groove pattern for insertion. That being said, the chair was not difficult to assemble. Razer included an instruction insert that is about the size of the box – big enough to easily see without pulling it close. Razer included a handled allen wrench for assembly. I can appreciate the handle over the standard L-shaped tool most companies include. I think it would have been a nicer touch to include a torque allen to encourage proper tightening – more on that later. After assembly, you just want to stare at the chair for a bit – it’s an attractive addition to my setup, heck, to any setup. Tight, quality leather with highlight stitching and a very definitive look.
Looking at the Razer Iskur after assembly, it looks like it will throw you out of the front of the chair. It sits very firm, but comfy, with a definite focus on proper seated posture. I have to give it to Razer for the focus on what proper posture should feel like while finding that comfort sweet spot. There is no shortage in the ability to adjust the Iskur. You can adjust armrests in 3 ways, there is a tension setting, standard hydraulic for raising and lowering, tilt and lock mechanism, and that lumbar control (love the lumbar). You can absolutely dial in this chair to your liking. Sitting in it for the first time really steered me toward what Razer intended for the chair – comfortable, long-termed sessions, seated in perfect posture. Razer even includes graphics on inserts of dos and don’ts in proper sitting. Because of this, and the comfort I could immediately feel when sitting in it, I made minimal adjustments to the chair. Pull it close to the desk, adjust the neck pillow, and play in perfect posture… for hours. Yes, it was comfortable for long stints in front of the monitor. I also noticed the benefits of comfortable, proper posture – no dead leg and less ankle swelling, less tiring over the entire body, back and shoulders have less tension. So, I would say the Iskur works as intended. I absolutely love sitting in it. It has become my go to gaming chair for not just PC, but console as well. It has helped improve my posture and will continue to do so over time. My only issue with the Razer Iskur is that it is a little noisy after only a few days. This is where the torque wrench would have been useful. I can appreciate just knowing the recommended torque – that may help. It’s not very bad at this point, but early noise makes me wonder how noisy it will get. Maybe remedied by a little oil and tightening. I will see.
This is an easy purchase decision, if you are PC or console gamer with a desk-like setup. It’s a quality product that promotes healthy posture while being very comfortable. This chair easily lives up to the billing!

The Surface Laptop 4 is the latest portable PC to grace my lap, table, carry tray, etc. I’m particular about packaging. I guess I feel that a company sends a bit of a message about how they feel about their product in the way it’s packaged. The SL4 comes in very premium, sturdy packaging. Each piece and part neatly tucked away, well protected, precisely wrapped – it is excellent. Upon removing the plastic, my first reaction was that of surprise at how sleek the laptop is. The feel is dripping “premium” and it looks fantastic. As I probed the device, I thought, “there are no seams”. There are, but it took additional lighting and a closer look to even see them. The SL4 is also very thin but doesn’t feel fragile. It’s got that feel of worth that few devices have. My household owns other laptops from other manufacturers, one is a powerful gaming rig, but none of them feel like the SL4. It’s nice in the hands. Another cool moment from the unboxing was the first time I opened the lid – the SL4 powered up. I thought this was a nice touch. Didn’t have to press the power button; it just began to boot up. Kind of felt like it was already mine – I liked that!
Of course, Windows 10 is the OS for the SL4, and I am an everyday Windows 10 user for work and home. It took little effort to get my new laptop up and running with a familiar environment. Desktop, OneDrive, email, apps – all copied into the new environment in a snap. I think Microsoft has really done some good work in this department, and the ease of transitioning from one device to the next is very appreciated. The SL4 has a very quiet, clean base – by that I’m referring to the lack of extras, buttons, stickers, etc on the platform deck where the keyboard resides. The power button is blended comfortably into the keyboard space. I really like the look; clean and visually aesthetic. The keyboard is spacious, with individual keys and what I consider to be good key travel, feel, and feedback. I have what I consider comfortable and typist-friendly keyboards I use for both work and personal desktop space. The SL4 keyboard is not quite on the level of either of those but is one of the best I’ve used on a laptop/convertible. It feels right when typing – very responsive and natural. The trackpad is spacious and has adequate palm detection. I am typing this review on the SL4, and I have not once had an accidental cursor reposition or mouse move during that time. I have large hands, so that’s a first for me. The trackpad is responsive, as you’d expect, and handles gestures well with good accuracy. The screen is very good as well. With laptops moving to OLED, while Microsoft is sticking with what they call PixelSense. I find it to more than adequate for standard, single app usage and multitasking. It is bright and sharp with good color accuracy as well. The coating is reflective, but not overbearing in backlighting conditions. It is touchscreen, and if you’re like me, you touch screens on laptops that don’t have the feature. I find it convenient to just reach up to the screen on occasion and tap buttons, links, shortcuts, desired cursor locations, etc. The screen is so close to the keyboard, and additional movement and coordination is required for mouse input in the same situations. Maybe that comes from using a touchscreen 2-in-1 for the last 7 years or so.
Using the SL4, I found it to be very responsive and flexible. In lightweight usage, like browsing the web, using email, and streaming, it performs beautifully. You really expect this out of a machine like this. What about a little heavy lifting? Well, I did some video editing, in 4K at that, and I was very surprised at how the SL4 responded. I guess pushing this device is when the AMD 8-core processor begins to shine. There isn’t much that rivals video encoding on a PC. I was more than pleased as I watched the percentage of completion increase at a decent pace. The SL4 handles multiple apps without issue, as well as heavy browser loads with double-digit tabs open. I never felt as if it was struggling or overworking to perform any tasks, and I only experienced the fan activating once – during 4K video encoding. The SL4 resumed and signed me in consistently within 2-3 seconds after opening the lid and showed snappy performance during basic navigation of the operating system and day-to-day apps. Did I mention Surface Pen support? Well, there it is. Pick up your existing pen, and just start writing. I have a Surface Slim Pen, and I literally just pulled it out and started writing on the screen – no waiting, no lag, just immediate inking. This is a welcome edition for PDF editing and quick scribbles when needed. The only time I wanted more from this device is when thinking of touch and pen input. It would be nice if this was a full convertible, but the screen stops at somewhere around 130 degrees or so. I guess that’s what they have the Surface Pro line for – which I have owned since the Surface Pro 3.
In the end, the Surface Laptop 4 has renewed my interest in this form factor. It is slick, clean, and performs very well. This is an easy purchase decision for anyone looking for a very good premium Windows laptop. The only buyer that should think more about it would be the hardcore gamer or someone needing the power of discrete graphics.

Wireless earbuds have become the norm the past few years – “true” wireless more recently. This is the first Soundcore/Anker product I have owned, but not the first wireless buds.
The Life Dot 2 XR buds come in average packaging and include a range of ear tip and ear wing sizes for just the right fit. When removing the case containing the buds from the box, one thing really stood out – the weight. There is definitely a bit of battery in this case! The case is hard plastic but very well constructed. The earbuds themselves aren’t heavy and feel pretty light in hand and while worn. They have a very modest look when worn. Inside the box is also a quick start guide, a “read me” quicker start guide, and a sound response card. Soundcore seems to be detail oriented. All the inserts were informative and helpful. You can use either start guide to get up and running without a hiccup – a definite plus in my book. There are even instructions on properly securing the buds in your ears, and they worked. Some may not understand, but after dealing with products that don’t have enough material to support the purchaser, I can appreciate the details.
My buds seemed to already have a full charge, so it was time to pair. The pairing process was too easy. Go to Bluetooth on your phone and open the case.. The Life Dot 2 XRs will appear, and you pair them – simple. Soundcore has an app allowing user control of connected devices. In the app, you can adjust sound settings, set button behavior, set noise cancellation, and check battery levels. I found the app very responsive with an easy-to-follow layout. There are quite a few EQ presets, and you also can define your own EQ settings. Really easy to set your up buds just how you want them.
Well, after all this, how do they perform? Admirably. My initial response was to adjust the EQ settings. The default is Soundcore Signature, which is recommended by the app, and it’s decent. After testing other presets, I found it was best to make my own custom profile. This helped me get the sound just right. The Life Dot 2 XRs aren’t the best sounding buds I own for listening to music, but they deliver clear sound and quite a punch. What holds them from that next level is the lack of what I consider a lid on the sound. They at times sound too open or airy. It’s what compression is used for in recordings. It’s not bad, but should be noted for the audiophile crowd. Calls were actually fantastic on my end and pretty good on the other end as well. The call quality was very loud and clear, and the connected party on the other end felt my voice was very clear. Background noise was very accurate and distinct. The caller on the other end could accurately tell what action was taking place on my end as I performed them.
Should you buy them. Yes, if you aren’t an audiophile. Overall, from a sound perspective, I think the Life Dot 2 XRs are pretty good, and they have nailed the app experience. The rapid charging feature is fantastic in a pinch, and the battery life is outstanding. Also, at this price… Definitely worth consideration.

As someone who has a gaming PC and 2 game systems in a compact space with a 3-monitor setup, space is a challenge at times. This 24-inch Dell gaming monitor fits perfectly in my space and use case.
The monitor is well packaged and is very easy to assemble. Out of the box, this monitor makes me smile because it includes both an HDMI cable and a Displayport cable. The first test for me with any monitor is flexibility. When you have a multi-monitor setup, you need vertical and tilt movement to be spot on for placement in your setup. This Dell gaming monitor fits the bill – easy to adjust in height and tilt to accommodate most physical configurations. It has 3 source inputs – 2 HDMI and one Displayport. That’s a definite win for me because it can not only accommodate my gaming PC, but a couple of nearby gaming systems as well. And the curve? Very welcome, even on what is considered a smaller display.
How does this monitor perform? Well, outstanding, based on its specs, but some people may be looking for more. This monitor is limited to 1080, but that along with its 165Hz refresh rate can be considered the true strength of it. Action/motion on this thing is fast and smooth at some of the highest frame rates, and the response time is outstanding. I found the picture to be one of the best I’ve seen on gaming monitors in this price range, and the anti-glare is not only welcome but performs very well. There are quite a few settings to adjust the display output, including response time and plethora of preset modes. For me, out of the box, this monitor looked crisp, with great color accuracy, and performed fantastically. I didn’t feel compelled to touch any settings. I thought they customized it for my rig. It really performs well.
This is an outstanding gaming monitor from Dell. The only way you can miss with this one is if you want something larger, or are looking for a 4K gaming experience – impossible to squeeze that out it, obviously. It’s fast, smooth, responsive, and has a fantastic picture.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Night Owl - 10 Channel Bluetooth Wi-Fi NVR with 4 Wi-Fi IP 4K HD 2-Way Audio Cameras and 1TB Hard Drive - White
Night Owl is excited to offer our U.S. designed and engineered 4K Wi-Fi Bluetooth Network Video Recorder with Wi-Fi IP 4K Spotlight Cameras and Pre-Installed Hard Drive. With secure app-based Bluetooth setup, there is no need to connect a TV or monitor for setup or viewing (optional). You can easily configure your system right from the app on your smartphone or tablet with the Bluetooth connection. While a TV or monitor is not required, with Google Assistant you can use simple voice commands to stream camera footage directly to your TV or monitor, all while remaining hands free. Each camera has 2-Way audio (talk and listen) as well as a built-in siren and preset voice alerts. From within the app, you can easily activate the built-in siren, startling intruders and sending them packing. Have a guest but can’t get to them? Use a preset voice alert to let them know! Smart detection technology including human detection, facial capture, and vehicle alerts reduce the risk of false alarms, keeping you safe and well protected. Facial capture lets you see who is on your property by snapping a photo and sending the image to your Smart Device. Motion-activated dual spotlights flood your yard with bright lights when human motion is detected, instantly warding off trespassers. Proudly designed and engineered in the USA, our security system uses a built-in wireless connection for uninterrupted viewing with no delays. Our app gives you control of your system and easy access to your recordings, regardless of where you are. Night Owl never charges fees for storage or access to your videos. All recordings are securely stored on a pre-installed hard drive for convenience. You can view and download the recordings as you need them. This system provides the latest technology to give you the ultimate security experience. NOTE: Your Wi-Fi recorder is compatible with our BWNIP2 (Wire Free), WNIP2 (Wi-Fi IP) and WNIP8 (Wi-Fi IP) Series devices and is not backward compatible with other Night Owl products.

HP - 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor (2 x HDMI, VGA) - Silver and Black
HP - 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor (2 x HDMI, VGA) - Silver and Black
The New Definition of High Definition: This FHD monitor feels as good as it looks, packing IPS technology for 178 degrees ultra-wide viewing angles, 99% sRGB color gamut for color accuracy, and AMD FreeSync to keep your eyes up to speed with your imagination.

how do you connect the monitor to the laptop

Depends on the laptop. My preference for my device is a USB-C to HDMI adapter. You can also use the same type of adapter with USB-A instead of C. An older laptop may have an HDMI port or VGA port. You can use these as well.

Dell - S2319NX 23" IPS LED FHD Monitor (HDMI, VGA) - Black/Silver
Dell - S2319NX 23" IPS LED FHD Monitor (HDMI, VGA) - Black/Silver
Optimize your viewing experience on this 23-inch Dell LCD monitor. Its Full HD IPS screen lets you see content from almost any angle. Easily connect a laptop or a PC to the VGA and HDMI ports on this Dell LCD monitor.

I tried hooking up my macbook pro (which only has a usb-c port) to the monitor via hdmi and a hdmi adapter. However, the monitor keeps telling me there is no hdmi signal from my device. How do I fix this? The adapter works on other monitors (also Dells).

Have you tried installing the latest driver from Dell? This is a tricky one if it works on other monitors.

Sony - WF-SP700N Sport True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbud Headphones - Black
Sony - WF-SP700N Sport True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbud Headphones - Black
Listen to your favorite playlists with these Sony wireless noise-cancelling headphones. They're equipped with the Google Assistant for instant help with a range of tasks, and their silicon support fittings keep the headphones in place while you're active. Use these Sony wireless noise-cancelling headphones' Ambient Sound Mode when you need to stay aware of your environment.

How do these compare to the Sony WF1000X--sound wise...and comfort wise?

More comfortable with comparable, if not better sound. The comfort and better seal contribute to a better listening experience, in my opinion.

Remove pet hair from carpets and hard floors with this BISSELL floor cleaning machine. Its motorized brush lifts and removes stubborn hair and dirt, and helps to clean hard-to-reach areas. This BISSELL floor cleaning machine dispenses detergent with the pull of a trigger for hassle-free shampooing of carpets and upholstery.

I’m trying to understand if this machine is a good replacement for cleaning carpets also! I love the idea of this product... I have a 21 year old cat that has oopsies!!! Thank you, Karen Akers

It really depends on the length of the carpet. This device is geared toward flooring and area rugs, but it does perform pretty well on low carpet. I wouldn't use in on anything that has any length beyond short.

I bought these to use on an airplane and with my Kindle. There is no work around to use on an Airplane??

Not sure I understand the issue... You should be able to achieve a Bluetooth connection even on the airplane.
