Overall this product is well made, high quality, easy to use and does exactly what it says it will. Want just one glass of wine but don't want to spoil the entire bottle? Than this is the product for you.
This device is simple to set up. I attempted to set it up without the instructions and was able to simply do so. Pouring came out smooth and expected. No sputtering when it was held as instructed. And wine that was left for over a week came out fresh and unspoiled.
The four stars instead of five is based up the cost of each cartridge. It seems that each cartridge will last for approximately two bottles. So I wouldn't use this for trying to save a bottle of BareFoot Zinfandel simply because of cost.
If you are not going to finish a bottle of wine in a sitting, this product is for you! I would recommend this product!

Sony - 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Built-In Wireless Subwoofer - Black
Sony - 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Built-In Wireless Subwoofer - Black
Enhance your viewing experience when watching TV with this Sony mini sound bar. The front-facing speakers deliver clear top-range and midrange tones so you can hear voices more clearly, while the built-in subwoofer adds resounding bass for a full-bodied sound. This Sony mini soundbar supports USB and Bluetooth connectivity for music playback.

I’m a fan of Sony products, but the price and size of this sound bar made me skeptical. I was wrong. Now tamper your expectations. YES. It does have an integrated sub-woofer, but it’s not gonna hit hard like your 20” sub in your car while cruising down the street listening to Beck’s “Loser” on a Friday night (sooooooo 1990’s). However, this a definitive upgrade to anything built-in TV speakers have to offer. And for the price and simplicity of setup, this is a great value!
Packaging and Initial Setup
The packaging was thought out. No wasted space where you think something should be that might be missing. Everything is laid out right at the top to get started. THANK YOU SONY for providing an actual user’s manual. Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I want a physical manual (not online) that tells me every single feature I can use.
Like many other electronics I’ve purchased recently, it seems like the onus of obtaining auxiliary cables falls on the end user. No HDMI cord and the optical cable could barely make it the length of my TV, let alone to the table where I wanted to place the sound bar. This isn’t just Sony, it seems to be everyone lately. So depending on how you plan on connecting, make sure you have the correct cable. Obviously if you connect with Bluetooth, this isn’t an issue. I would suggest NOT doing that, which I will explain later.
I have not connected the sound bar to the wall yet, but this thing is relatively small compared to others I own. The instructions are simplistic but you will need to purchase the correct anchors (ex. screws, wall anchors, etc.) because they are not included.

The remote is the right size. Small but not too small where you will lose it. There is a lot of functionality in the remote that make it necessary to have. There are also features for “long pressing” certain buttons. Refer to the owner’s manual for more information.
Sound
As I said before, this sound bar is sleek and relatively small. But don’t let that fool you. It puts ample sound out. When I test my speakers I use a staple of movies and songs to test different ranges:
1) “The Matrix” - Rescuing Morpheus (1hr 41mins)
I love this scene for testing! The quality of speech is tested at the beginning. The surround capabilities are truly tested with the gun battle. And the music capabilities, especially on the low end, are tested with the soundtrack. This sound bar proved ample in all. Although it can’t get to the truly low bass “thump” that the soundtrack has, it doesn’t feel lacking. The crispness of the audio’s upper end is great as you hearing casings hitting the floor. For being just a sound bar, the surround capabilities were surprising.
2) “One Night Only” by The Struts
A rock anthem definitely tests the highs and midrange capabilities. I did notice in the chorus of the song, the sound gets muddled and distorted in the midrange. This is more noticeable at higher volumes. It’s slight, but it is there. However, the crispness of the vocals is great!
3) “Loser” by Beck
I mentioned this song before and it is my go-to for testing out vocal quality and how low speakers can actually pick up. Again, the vocal quality and guitar quality (high end) were great. The lows were good for what they can pick up. But obviously without having a larger sub-woofer, there is just no way to pick up that “thump”. Again, this isn’t a slight. It’s just an impossibility given the hardware.
Inputs
With all of that being said, there is a HUGE difference between the three inputs (HDMI, Optical and Bluetooth) and their quality. If you can connect with HDMI-ARC, I highly recommend it. It by far sounds the best and provides the most capabilities. I was shocked to see that when I connected the sound bar this way, even my Roku remote was able to control the volume of the sound bar. Pretty cool! The next highest quality was the optical cable. Although the difference in sound quality was slight, the loss of functionality that ARC gives is worth just connecting to HDMI. I would not suggest connecting to Bluetooth for TV purposes unless it’s an absolute necessity, or you just don’t care for crisp sound. Bluetooth is intrinsically lower in quality when it comes to sound. You’re giving up quality for ease of connection.
Summary
In conclusion, I would recommend this sound bar. Its price point is way under the value of the quality. While the bass isn’t going to hit you in the chest, I think the quality overall and the simplicity of setup make up and are well worth it.

To be completely honest, I almost got fed up with the firmware update process to the point where I almost deleted this entire review and was simply going to post a recommendation to purchase another speaker and be done with it. But here we go….
Packaging is sturdy. Not cheap, but not the most impressive I’ve seen. Outside box had delivery damage but everything inside was intact and unscathed.
Owner’s Manual/Quick Setup is worthless. The best directions they give is to download the app. Just what I want. Another app on my phone. Make that two so you can connect directly to streaming services! See below for more information on why this app is lacking.
This is my first set of wireless speakers that are separate (except my Sonos setups). In the past I’ve had one powered speaker and a speaker cable running between the two. Positive to this is there’s no cable tethering the speakers together. The negative is each speaker needs to be within 6 feet of a power source since the power supply cable is that long. Unless you add an extension cord. These speakers do run off WiFi and Bluetooth sources for wireless play, but also have the capability to be hard wired with an Ethernet cable, ¼” auxiliary input, and optical input into the master speaker. Of course this means that the master speaker needs to be close to the source if hardwired. There is also a USB output for charging capabilities. I assume for a phone or mobile device that you have connected. I can’t see much more use than that for a USB in the back of a speaker. It also has a wired output for a sub-woofer.
For being as small as they are, these speakers are heavy (not in a bad way)! Weight is balanced low in the speakers which should minimize any accidental tipping. The speakers have a threaded connector on the base for mounting to a speaker stand. There are no mounting capabilities on the back of the speaker. Non-skid feet on base of the speaker keep it firmly attached to the surface it is sitting on. They seem to be built solidly. No screens on the front of the speakers.
In order to set up speakers, you need to direct connect to them via a mobile device through their WiFi. **Be advised you may have to temporarily change your devices settings to not switch WiFi connections automatically through this process. I guess you may want to make sure your screen doesn’t time out as well. Apparently this app can’t work properly when the screen shuts off. *** Something in the app process is slow, causing me to search a couple times for the WiFi connection and the speakers during setup along with making the on screen buttons slow to react. A little annoying but the process finally worked. ***Don’t go putting the speakers where you want them yet!!!*** Mine needed a firmware update. And the only way to update the firmware is to connect both speakers together with the provided Ethernet cable. And then the firmware crashed! The app is having a hard time locating my speakers on my network throughout this process. This is the only set of KEF speakers we have on the system and all suggestions by the app were followed. The app seems to lock up during setup and firmware updates, only to work again if you close the app and reopen it. Then the firmware froze. I then had to follow the steps to “recover” which are a complete pain, including having to hard wire the speakers into my router with an ethernet cable. If this is the process I have to go through for every update, I’m out! So now I’m sitting here babysitting my phone for “up to 20 minutes.” I’m now about an hour into setup. My only hope is that this update corrects some of the above issues. I have more wireless speakers, most of them being Sonos speakers, but I have five brands total that I own. This by far has been the most tedious and time consuming process for setup I’ve ever dealt with.
Ok! Speakers set up! Woo hoo! The sound was initially crap. I’m still not impressed with the highest volume. It should be able to go up louder. I thought the speakers sound were muddled and lacking especially during higher volumes. However, the different audio files I was listening too caused that to be more noticeable than with others. It seems audio sources with lower quality are very noticeable because of the speaker quality being so high. The acoustics of the speakers is pretty impressive though. You become immersed in a wall of sound, rather than hearing two separate speakers.
The equalizer has some awfully weird setup abilities and it’s all in metric. It would be nice to switch to the imperial system for distances. There are no true “equalizer” settings. The remote control needs a direct line of sight to the master speaker, but if it is, it is functional and responsive.
At the price of these speakers, my expectations were high. I believe there is a lot of potential with these speakers, but with the better versatility and relatively cheaper alternatives, I would lean towards an established company like Sonos, especially if I were expanding my system to the whole house. But if you are using this as a standalone system, the quality and features are worthwhile. The app is lacking. The simplicity of setup and updates is lacking. But the quality of the audio cannot be overlooked. Three stars for now and I would cautiously recommend these, but only if you catch them on sale.

With my daughter being an avid fan of Star Wars and technologically savvy as most kids her age are, I felt like this would be the perfect gift for her upcoming birthday. I decided to bring it to the office and let some of my fellow coworkers give it a whirl. Turns out this isn’t just for kids. It was a difficult task to pry it away from the “big kids” in my office.
This light sabre seems rigid and well made. I did have a problem with it randomly turning off. Turns out the battery connection was loose. I had a piece of foam rubber that I placed between the batteries and the compartment door. This resolved the issue.
Although it will stand alone, the app is necessary to get the full effect of the device. It’s fun to play against masters and unlock different objectives. I will say that the battles with the masters were a little underwhelming because you don’t actually see the character you’re fighting. The training session were fun though. The light sabre , once calibrated, is responsive and precise.
This device can be used in multiplayer fashion with the purchase of a second device. That purchase will be made soon enough. Overall, I would recommend this product for the avid Star Wars fan. A lot of fun and, other than the battery issue, appears to be well built.

I will readily admit that I was a little more excited about this glorified power strip than I should have been. And maybe because of that reason, my expectations were higher than they should have been. I have purchased multiple APC devices throughout my life. They are the gold standard when it comes to battery backup and power protection. This device is an unconventional concept that attempts to provide accessible power sources to a typical office environment by way of its shape and ability to dangle from the edge of a desk or ledge. Unfortunately, it falls short of the high standards of APC.
Notice I said “dangle”. That’s because there is no way to tighten this item securely to the edge. It has a spring loaded clamp that is supposed to provide some stability, but it’s not enough. A tightening thumb screw would have done the trick. I would also recommend it to be expandable so that larger ledges or objects that the user may want to attach it to would be possible.
It’s bulky as well. Having it on the edge of my desk tucked away in the corner seemed to be the best place for it. Still, it stuck out like a sore thumb and if I tucked it away in the corner, three of the wall outlets would be blocked.
Power supply was another issue. This device has two standard USB ports and one USB-C port. For the life of me, I could not get my Bluetooth headphones to charge on this device’s two USB ports. I checked the cable and the headphones themselves. It was only this device causing the issue. And with this being my main reason for wanting the device, it was unfortunate that it wasn’t compatible.
Finally, the extension cord needs to be longer. I have a standard sized cubicle desk and the power cable was not long enough to comfortably route underneath the desk. Rather it was stretched out, causing an eye sore and just being outright annoying.
So I give APC points for style and creativity, but in form and function this device is lacking. There are much better options that are relatively cheaper and more practical. I would not recommend this to a friend at this time.

My family was looking for another laptop+ and we decided to get this device. When I unpacked it, my wife got a little frustrated, ask me, “Why did we get another chrome book?” because of its size and and slim profile. She ate those words quite quickly after the easy and fast setup process. This was no chrome book. This was a full service laptop 2-in-1 device in a chrome book’s clothing (like a wolf in sheep’s clothing :-) ).
Quick note! Since it took me a while to find it. The power button is on the top right corner edge above the keyboard. It was so integrated, as is the rest of the sleek design, it made it difficult to find. Once we did, as I said before, setup was quick and easy.
This computer is probably not going to handle gaming, but for our uses of internet browsing, video watching, photo editing, etc, this device is perfect. The illuminated keyboard is probably one of the best I’ve seen. Some keyboards are hard to see when not lit up, HP has made sure that is not an issue.
The main feature on this device, battery life!!!! Don’t let its slim design fool you. The battery in this HP just keeps going. Not being tied down to a wire for charging was a definite plus when trying to get stuff done and keeping up with our kids running around.
I would definitely recommend this device to others. The price tag is slightly above average, but what you get in terms of battery life and a lightweight, versatile device is worth it!

There is not much to say about this mouse. It’s simple, light weight, easy to use, and quiet. Perfect for travel or home use. It feels comfortable in the hand. The ability to connect via Bluetooth or the included USB dongle is versatile and helpful. The dongle is safely tucked away inside the compartment with the battery so there’s no worry about losing it. I do wish it came with some kind of carry pouch. But other than that, this is a solid product. But I would expect nothing less from Logitech.

My wife and I are what I would consider “average” workout people. Meaning we don’t work out daily and we don’t have the time in the day to go to the gym every single day due to the hustling and bustling of life. For that reason we have purchased a few items to have at our home for a quick workout. The TRX system will be a welcome addition to the equipment we have.
It took just as long for me to set this system up as it did to unpack it from the box. Simple! Register on the website and get a couple free workout videos. Simple! Setup and read the easy to read instructions. Simple! My wife has utilized a similar workout system during her PT exercises. She is excited to be able to continue those exercises from the comfort of our home now. She commented on how well built this system is and pointed out that there is no “permanent” installation. Nothing to screw in or cause damage to the current infrastructure of our doorway.
We have used the system on a limited basis so far. I don’t think it will completely remove the need for our other equipment (weight set and a pull up bar) but it is definitely a welcome compliment to our system that has a myriad of uses. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for equipment that will provide a quick workout and has limited space for equipment.

For being a budget friendly TV, this TV is worth every dollar! Having already purchased another 65” name brand television recently, I was concerned that this TV wouldn’t stand up to the competition. I was wrong.
Packaging for this device was standard, except for the heavy duty bag with handles surrounding the TV. What a common sense idea! It made it so much easier to unpack. This device did not come with an HDMI cable, so be sure to purchase one if needed to connect to your devices. This TV has four HDMI connections and supports HDMI-ARC, Optical outputs, and analogue inputs/outputs. A versatile setup for all sources! NOTE: While adjusting some of the sound settings, the Optical Output stopped working. I was able to resolve this by resetting the televisions audio setting to the default.*** This TV is 4K/HDR capable with the correct wires and devices.
One unique thing to note if not mounting to a wall. The stand is a two part setup. One on each side of the television. The TV has two different places to connect the footings, one wider out for support, the other closer in for smaller surfaces. I set this TV on a 32”Wx 16”D surface with barely enough room on the narrower base option. However, the feet at the bottom of the base are rubberized and held on to the surface with a death grip. I always recommend securing a Television to the wall either by a VESA mount or at the very least safety straps so tipping won’t occur.
If you use google or have a Google Assistant account set up, you’re going to love this TV. It is geared directly for Google and streaming from services. However, if you use an external device, you may find that switching to that device seems a little more cumbersome than it needs to be. Having an input selector right on the main screen would be more helpful. **Update: After completing the system update, an input control button appeared in the top right corner of the screen. *** The remote does have an input selector, but if you use your phone as a remote, you will have to go through the settings menu in order to switch inputs. A mild inconvenience when I’m switching from the Roku or PS4.
The remote is nice. It has predefined buttons to use voice commands through Google Assistant, and also Netflix, Youtube, Google Play and Vudu. The remote is lightweight but sturdy, and feels comfortable in size. Nothing flashy, but simple and easy.
Now for the meat and potatoes. I was completely astonished by the picture quality of this television. Right from the factory defaults with no adjustments, the colors were vibrant and clear. The reds did tend to bleed a bit, but with some minor adjustments, that was resolved. Whether it be movie watching, sports events, or gaming this television kept up with the name brand televisions I currently have. The only difference I noticed was some slight bleed of colors when paired with a pitch black background. It should also be noted, there was an ever so slight delay in the picture when playing games on the PS4. The lag was most notable when playing sporting games like hockey where the speed of game is high. But overall, the crispness, clarity and colors of this device can keep up with the big boys. Any adjustments that might need to be made could be made through the system settings similar to any other television nowadays.
For those looking for a large tv but don’t have the fat wallet to go high end, this is the TV for you! I would highly recommend this television to anyone that asked, knowing that is surpasses anything in its price range.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Other reviews will give you a well-rounded explanation as to what this wire does according to its description. And yes, it works great for Chromebooks, Macbooks, etc just as described, but what I am going to review is something I hoped it would do and what it succeeded in doing.
First off this cable is very well built. It is the second cable system I have from Platinum and I am not surprised at its rigid build. It’s a tough cable without being inflexible. One thing that you will notice is that it heats up on the HDMI end. Not sure why, but from other reviews, it appears to be a normal occurrence with no negative side effects.
So to begin, we have a very nice vehicle that is relatively new (2015). Being built in 2015 rather than 2016, the entertainment system has an RCA (red, white and yellow cables) audio-video connection rather than an HDMI. With DVDs being a thing of the past in our house since we stream everything, my hope was that we would be able to connect an HDMI device to the system. So I purchased an RCA-to-HDMI converter which worked for our laptops. But still, I wanted to be able to use our phones which have the obvious capability of built in internet access and are much smaller and convenient than trucking around a laptop.
Enter the Platinum USB C to HDMI cable…. I had doubts. It didn’t say anything in the description about cellphones being compatible. Not to mention the setup in my entertainment system was less than typical. I have a Samsung Note 9 and my wife has a Note 8. I hesitantly plugged the Note 9 in, and success!!! Everything worked perfectly. Samsung has a native application that allows for mirroring that worked flawlessly. Everything from videos on the phone to streaming media (Netflix, Hulu, Plex, etc) were perfect! This is going to be a lifesaver on road trips with the kiddos.
However, when plugging the Note 8 in, a strange thing occurred. Mirroring worked perfect except for streaming from Netflix, where everything would show on the screen except the video that was playing. I assume it has something to do with DRM (Digital Rights Management). I could play video that was on the phone and from the Plex application, so that reaffirmed that DRM has something to do with it. I’m attempting to find a workaround, but we will be using the Note 9 for now.
I also attempted to connect the Note 9 using this wire to an older flat screen TV with an HDMI input. If you do hook up to an older device and have an issue with the display showing, it appears that disconnecting and reconnecting fixes these issues. Not a perfect fix for the problem, but it does work.
Overall, I would highly recommend this cable. We might even purchase another to keep at the house when we want to view items from our phones. Just be aware of the heat issue I mentioned at the beginning. I would keep it well ventilated just in case.

Bring your television audio to life without compromising the beauty of the room. As an alternative to traditional sound bars or bookshelf speakers, this system allows you to enjoy premium television audio while hiding the electronics and wiring in the wall and behind the TV. This package includes two in-wall speakers with paintable grilles; when painted, the speakers almost disappear into the surrounding space. The included Sonos amp provides 125 watts of power per channel, which lets you enjoy high-resolution sound from the Sonance speakers. Also included is an in-wall power kit that brings power to the entire system without calling an electrician. A metal back box is provided to hold the in-wall power kit, Sonos AMP®, and system electronics with extra room for streaming video devices like Apple TV® or Roku®.

Can you attach a sub to this system as well for extra bass, or are you stuck with just the 2 included speakers? And is the amp powerful enough for a sub?

Yes. You can either hard wire a third-party sub via the output or purchase a Sonos sub for wireless connection. I personally recommend the Sonos sub. Have one on a different system and love it!

I have started recording and upload my video games on PC but can not control how loud I am in the recording, will I be able to control that with this mic

Yes and no. While there are no controls for mic volume (other than on and off), if you flex the mic away from you or move it up and down further away from your mouth, it should compensate.

Smart Light Starter Kit with Google Assistant
Smart Light Starter Kit with Google Assistant
Use the Google Smart Light Starter Kit to control the lights using just your voice. Set up in a snap: just plug in Google Home Mini, screw in the GE C-Life smart light bulb, and download the Google Home app to get started. Then just say "Hey Google" to dim, brighten, turn on and turn off the lights."

Do I need the hub with the Life bulb & Google Home?

We do not have one and it works fine.

WD - My Book 3TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive - Black
WD - My Book 3TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive - Black
Save plenty of media and other files on this WD My Book external hard drive, which features a 3TB capacity for ample storage space. WD SmartWare Pro software backs up your files automatically for simple use.

Will WD My Book 3TB work on Linux

The Specification page specifically says:
PC: Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8; Mac: OS X; available USB 3.0 port

Will it also work with an up-to-date linux distribution? (e.g., Ubuntu 13.10, SteamOS, RHEL 7)? (It should -- I have yet to see one that will not work)

If it is not officially supported/doesn't work, I will have to look elsewhere.
Thank you.
Not sure if it officially authorized but I have utilized them with no problems.

Does this have a power (off/on) switch? I'd like to leave it plugged in all the time & just turn the switch on when needed - is that an option?

I'd like to have the drive plugged in (usb & power) and just turn the device on via a power switch to activate - does this come with a built in on/off switch?
It powers up only when being utilized. Otherwise, it is in a standby mode until something tries to access it. No "hard" power on/off switch.

Can this Drive be used for more than one computer, one with Windows 7 and another with Windows XP?

I have a Desktop with Windows XP Media Center Edition32 bit and a Laptop with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Can the same External Drive be used for backing up from both these computers?
The short answer is yes. If you use a router that has a USB port for a network drive, simply plug it in and follow your routers directions. If not, you would have to "share" the drive to the other computer. If all of this sounds to complicated I would spend the little extra a get a MyBook Live or MyBook World. They connect to your router through a ethernet cable and are ready to run immediately.
