Is it possible to install this dishwasher permanently, connecting it to a separate water line?

This unit ships with a quick connect hose & adapter to hook the dishwasher up to your faucet. It does not ship with the proper supplies to hook the unit up to a permanent water supply.

Height without wheels?

What are the measurements if the wheels are removed?

All 4 castors cannot be removed as the unit would then be sitting on the motor assembly that sits lower than the rest of the base. Danby does also offer an 18" built-in dishwasher, the DDW1809W-1.

It will not hurt the unit to be stored on its side. However, before plugging the unit in to use, it must sit upright for 24 hrs prior to first start of the season.

This unit is not approved for being used in a built-in application. It requires 2-3 inches of space on the sides and rear of the units for the compressor to breathe. Please note that "building in" this unit will likely cause the compressor to overheat and not cool properly.

Is it possible to get a longer drain hose?

Mine barely reaches into the sink and I have to keep it held down with a cast iron pan.... A longer hose would be very helpful and much appreciated.

Unfortunately, Danby does not have any other drain hoses available for this unit.

can a danby 18" portable dishwasher be converted to built in?

We do not recommend that you attempt to build this dishwasher in. Danby does sell a built-in 18" dishwasher that is available on BestBuy.com. That model is the DDW1809W-1.
